Luhan had followed Yixing all the way into the latter's room where he found him curled up in a fetal position on his bed,sobbing occasionally. He got on the bed and laid next to his brother quietly and patiently waiting for the other to cry it off.

When Yixing had cried enough and all he did was sniffle Luhan still didn't say anything to him.

The room was quiet as the two brothers laid next to each other,time was ticking by but they didn't care each in their own little world. 

Yixing was the first to speak.

"Luhan..."he called his brother rolling over to look at him

"Yes?"Luhan answered doing the same

They stared at each other for a while.

"Brothers forever?"the latter asked hesitantly

"Brothers forever."Luhan stated with a firm nod and Yixing smiled lightly hugging his brother quite tightly

And Luhan hugged him back just as tight,a bond like theirs could never be broken,ever.

The day everyone feared came. It came too quickly bit there was nothing they could do about it.

On the balcony of a palace that stood by itself on a tall hill,there was petite figure standing,gazing out at the kingdom that resided below.

Inside the palace the air was thick with anxiousness but most of all,faith.

Nothing could take away their faith.

Not even the shadows.

The figure tore his gaze away from the huge village and looked up at the brightly shining star that was their sun,grasping the necklace he wore around his neck tightly.

"I believe in you."the figure whispered staring at the sun unblinking.

Loud confetti poppers resonated in the room startling the poor boy out of his slumber.

"Happy Birthday!!"two voices cheered and Luhan sat up wide eyed.

"What?"he asked staring at his best friend and brother

"Today is the day that you turn 18 my friend"Baekhyun grinned and Luhan groaned 

"Can't a person get some good sleep in this house?"the birthday boy whined being tugged out of the bed by his brother

"Come on Luhan"Yixing grinned

"Xingie I thought you loved me"Luhan faked sobbed

"Baekhyun said he will take us to get breakfast"the latter shrugged 

"Bribing never fails"Baekhyun laughed and Luhan glared at him

"Don't bribe my brother"he grumbled whacking his best friend on the arm 

"Hey don't hit me"Baekhyun whined and Luhan smirked picking up a pillow to continue whacking his friend with it,ignoring the sounds Baekhyun was making while Yixing was laughing so hard tears started forming in his eyes.

Their moment was interrupted however when someone cleared their throat,all three heads turned to the door.

"Hey Miss Qiang!"Baekhyun waved with a smile and she smiled back

"Hello Baekhyun,it's nice seeing you"she said

"Likewise"Baekhyun nodded not noticing how the other two figures in the room had their head down with unreadable facial expressions

"Baekhyun..do you mind if I speak to my sons for a minute?"she asked and Baekhyun got up walking over towards the door

"I'll be outside in the car waiting guys"he said before leaving the room

The silence in the room after was deafening.

"Boys.."she started but got cut off when Yixing stormed out of the room without sparing her a glance.

She stood there shocked but most of all hurt,sighing she turned to Luhan who was looking at her torn between comforting her and being mad at her.

"Are you still mad?"she asked softly and Luhan stared at her for a whole before shaking his head

"I'm was not mad just upset"he mumbled and she nodded walking over to sit next to him

"But are you okay?"Qiang asked reaching out to pet his head

"I am"he answered getting up before she could

There was a bit more of silence in the room as Luhan stood with his back to her.

"You can ask you know"she decided to say at last

"If you and dad aren't my real parents....then what are you guys?"he asked

"Your Keepers"she answered

"Keepers?"he asked again turning to look at her

"Yes"she nodded

"...and my real parents?"he asked stating right at her

She looked conflicted for a moment before getting up and walking over to him.

"You'll see them one day..."was all she could say and Luhan nodded

"I have to go get ready"he murmured turning to walk out of the room

"Happy 18th birthday sweety"she said before he disappeared fully out of her sight 

Luhan smiled sadly to himself as he walked into his room to get ready.

It took him no longer then 20 minutes to get ready and when he got outside to get in Baekhyun's car he saw how the sky was darkening a bit.

"Hurry up slow poke"Baekhyun grumbled at him and Luhan rolled his eyes walking over to the car and getting in.

"Is it going to rain today?"he asked from the backseat as Baekhyun pulled out of his driveway 

"No,it says its going to be sunny today"Yixing said and Luhan glanced out the window up at the sky

"Then why is the sky getting so dark?"he asked still looking at the sky 

"What are you talking about?"Baekhyun asked staring out at the blue sky

He turned to look at his friend before looking at his brother 

"What do you see Baekhyun?"Yixing asked turning his face away from his brother to look out the window at the sky

"I see the blue sky and I see white clouds and the bright sun"he replied keeping his gaze on the road

Both Luhan and Yixing looked over at Baekhyun strangely but said nothing more on the matter.
