CHAPTER XXXIII JESSI

If Only..

CHAPTER XXXIII

JESSI

“Hey, Tiff,” Chloe asked the crescent eyed girl when they were waiting for the next lesson. “What’s wrong with Jessica?”

“Yeah, have you asked her why she’s absent?” Lily said as she sat in Jessica’s empty seat. “She seemed pretty fine yesterday…”

Tiffany glanced at her friends but then pretended to be busy with her notes. “No…”

“No?” Chloe looked surprised by her black haired American friend’s answer. “Haven’t you message her?”

“Then why don’t you do it yourselves?” Tiffany sighed and slammed her book closed.

“Oh, well…” Chloe startled and took a step back. “… You’re her best friend so I thought you’ve already message her by now…”

“Well, you thought wrong.” The crescent eyed girl looked pretty annoyed. “And does being her best friend means that I have to know every little thing about her?”

“Do I look like her mother?”

“N-No, Tiff…” The Texan girl was even more surprised by Tiffany’s outburst. “… I didn’t mean it like that…”

“We’re going to ask her ourselves.” Lily quickly stood up and dragged Chloe back to their seats in the front of the class. “Sorry to bother you…”

“Don’t you think she’s been acting a bit strange lately?” Chloe whispered as soon as they were back in their seats.

“Mhm.” Lilly nodded as she took out her cell phone and sent a text to Jessica.

“I mean; it looks like she’s having a fight with Jessica…” The Texan girl continued.

“Mhm.” Her best friend nodded again.

“And I think Jessica is skipping school because of that.” The ginger haired girl looked serious.

“Mhm.” Lily was still busy with her phone.

“Answer me properly!” Chloe lost her patience and smacked the poor black haired girl’s head with her notebook.

“Ouch!” Lily immediately covered her head with her hands. “You don’t have to hit me so hard!”

“That’s what you get for ignoring me.” The Texan girl giggled; she looked pretty satisfied. “Now as I was saying; Tiffany seems strange lately—“

“—And you think she’s having a fight with Jessica.” Lily concluded as she stared at the crescent eyed girl who was sitting at the back of the class.

“I wonder what happened…” Chloe followed her and stare at Tiffany with curiosity.

The crescent eyed girl didn’t even notice her friends stares on her. She looked busy with her notes, and her friends thought she was busy studying. And she was. It had been a routine for her these past few weeks to review her lessons, or the materials she had learned from her trainings whenever she had free time. Her friends thought it was very admirable for her to study hard, but they couldn’t possibly think that she was only doing that so she wouldn’t have to stare or speak to Jessica or think about that particular blonde. She had been so successful in avoiding the blonde girl, that even when Jessica was absent that day, she was still busy with her notes.

But the truth was that Tiffany couldn’t stop thinking about the blue eyed girl. Deep inside she was wondering if Jessica was absent because the blonde was sad that Tiffany kept avoiding her. And she couldn’t help but feel guilty for making the pretty blonde girl skip school.

But then her mind wondered if Jessica was absent because she was really sick. The crescent eyed girl could picture the pale look of poor Jessica, lying down in her bed with her blanket up to her neck, shivering from the cold and had no one to care for her. Suddenly she felt sorry for the blue eyed girl, and she remembered how Jessica took care of her when she was sick. She remembered that day when Jessica nursed her; how she hugged her, cooked for her, stayed by her side and watched over for her. And then she remembered how the blue eyed girl wiped her body with a towel; and she remembered how smooth and gentle and soft her touches were, and how much she would love to be treated like that again.

And immediately her face flushed, and she let out a small shriek and buried her face in her books. She scolded herself in her mind for wanting to be with Jessica again, and she told herself over and over again that she should forget about her feelings for the blonde girl. The crescent eyed girl then took a peek to her left side and stared at the empty seat. She realized how much she was missing the blue eyed girl, and no matter how hard she tried to push her feelings aside, they always found some sort of way to get back and made her heart ache once more.

But then she felt disgusted with herself, for loving the touches of her best friend. She shook her head violently and cursed herself for having such impure thoughts. No one should lust over their best friend, she scolded herself; not when they were the same . She hit her own head a couple of times to get her focus back to her studies, and whined when her last hit was a little bit too strong and made her head hurts. The crescent eyed girl pouted and opened some pages in her book and forced herself to study once more.

“See?” Chloe whispered as she and Lily was staring at Tiffany’s odd and silly behavior the whole time. “She’s acting very, very strange…”

“Mhm…” Lily simply said, and she was quickly rewarded with another smack in the head.

During lunch time Tiffany intentionally avoided her two friends, and opted to sit alone in the corner near the exit of the cafeteria. The crescent eyed girl was cutting her Chicken Katsu meal into small pieces with her fork, when Richard Wong and his three friends decided to sit at her table and join her for lunch.

Yo, Tiff,” Richard grinned as he sat down across the black haired American girl. “What’s up?”

“Why are you sitting here alone?” Alex took the chair next to her.

“Why?” The crescent eyed girl looked annoyed. “Can’t I choose to have lunch by myself?”

“Who, chill, girl,” Dean laughed awkwardly as he threw some French fries into his mouth. “We didn’t mean anything by it…”

“So, hey,” Richard said as he ate his sandwich. “How’s Jessica?”

“Is she sick?”

Tiffany immediately grabbed her tray and stood up when she heard the blonde’s name, and walked away from the table, leaving the boys staring at her with their open mouths.

“What did I say?” Richard said as he stared at the black haired girl’s back.

“Dunno, dude…” Dean said as he kept eating his fries. “She’s probably having a fight with Jessica…”

“She’s been acting strange lately.” Alex said as he took some of Dean’s fries, and the latter immediately smacked him in the head. The buzz cut boy then threw some pickles at the muscle boy, and seconds later the trio started a food fight amongst themselves.

Tiffany glanced back and saw the boys throwing their food to each other, and their laughs filled the cafeteria. She shook her head and look around to find an empty seat, but at that time the place was already packed with students and their lunches.

“Hey, over here!” A loud crisp voice with a familiar accent shouted, and the crescent eyed girl found a tanned girl waving a couple of tables away from her.

Tiffany smiled and nodded, and rushed to the table. As she was walking there she couldn’t help but stare at the girl who was still waving at her. The tanned girl had long, dark brownish hair, and slanted eyes with long and thick eyelashes. Her brows were long and sharp shaped, making her look fierce and intimidating. The crescent eyed girl was starting to regret accepting the mean looking girl’s invitation, but she thought it would be rude of her to turn down her offer now. And once she reached the table and put her tray down, she took a closer look at the girl and noticed that she had a small nose, and plump cheeks, and was big and her lips were thick. The scary girl was not wearing her jacket and her tie was loose, and her uniform was ruffled and untucked; making her look like a bad girl.

“Sit down.” The mean looking girl said as she pointed at the chair in front of her.

“O-Oh, right…” Tiffany sat down awkwardly, and quickly put all of her attention to her meal.

“Were them boys giving you a hard time?” The fierce girl said again with her crisp voice and thick American accent.

“W-What?” The black haired girl raised her head timidly. “O-Oh, no. No, they weren’t…”

“Are you sure?” The dark brown haired girl glared at the boys, that were still having their food fight.

“Y-Yes, they were just playing around…” Tiffany nervously said.

“If you say so…” The mean looking girl said and continued to eat her burger, and Tiffany let out a sigh of relief.

The black haired American girl then went back to her lunch, but in her mind she was scolding herself for deciding not to eat lunch with her friends like she used to, and now she had to sit across such a scary person. She glanced at the mean looking girl a couple of times, and prayed that she could finish her lunch soon so she could go back to her classroom.

“You know; I’ve been wanting to chat with you for a while.” The girl said again after they had finished their lunch.

“O-Oh, really?” The crescent eyed girl grew even more scared. She knew a few girls like her in the US, and they usually love to bully other. Tiffany was scared that the fierce looking girl might have been wanting to bully her.

“Yeah, really.” The girl threw a smile, but it looked like a smirk to Tiffany. “But you were always hanging out with your friends and that blonde girl-what’s her name?”

“J-Jessica?” The crescent eyed girl replied timidly.

“Yeah; that girl!” The mean looking girl was now laughing, but Tiffany couldn’t help but find her laugh to be scary.

“She’s a trainee from SM, isn’t she?” The girl stopped laughing, and stared at the black haired American girl with her piercing gaze.

“Y-Yeah, she is…” Tiffany wanted to run away from her, but her legs were so weak she thought she wouldn’t be able to stand up.

“Where is this Jessica now?” The girl looked around the cafeteria.

“She-She’s…” The crescent eyed girl felt a little disappointed that Jessica wasn’t there at the time. If the blue eyed girl was there, she would’ve had come to her aid like a knight in shining armor and rescued her from the mean looking girl. “… She’s absent…”

“Hmm…” The mean looking girl stared at Tiffany for a while, like she was looking straight into her soul. “Is she sick?”

It took a while before Tiffany answered. “… I don’t know…”

“So are you a trainee too?” The girl continued when she noticed Tiffany’s eyes were starting to get teary.

“Y-Yes, I am…” She wanted to cry now. Somehow she felt sad that she didn’t know why Jessica was absent that day. And deep inside she felt awful for not knowing if her best friend was sick or not.

Best friend… Am I still her best friend now?

Do I still want to be her best friend? Tiffany thought.

“Are you okay?” The mean looking girl seemed to be concerned with Tiffany. “You look like you’re about to cry now.”

“Wha-No, no,” The crescent eyed girl quickly said. “I’m fine…”

“Are you sure?” The girl asked again.

“Y-Yeah, yeah,” Tiffany nodded a few times. “I’m sure…”

“So how do you like it in SM so far?” The girl asked again.

“W-Well…” The crescent eyed girl was too scared to leave the table. “… I-It’s great…”

“S-So far…”

“Why are you stuttering like that?” The mean looking girl asked as she kept staring at Tiffany, and the latter kept avoiding her eyes.

“O-Oh…” Tiffany felt her body shrunk. “… I-It’s nothing…”

“Don’t tell me,” The tanned girl laughed. “Are you scared of me?”

“W-Wha…” The black haired American girl was startled. “N-No, I’m not…”

“Really?” The mean looking girl grinned and her eyes formed a crescent, just like Tiffany’s.

“A-A little bit…” She leaned away in her chair, uncomfortable with the girl’s smirk.

“Oh, my God!” The fierce girl laughed. “Don’t be!”

“I’m not going to eat you or anything!”

“I-I know that…” The crescent eyed girl said even though she had suspected the girl would do so eventually.

“Oh, you’re too cute!” The mean looking girl laughed, and Tiffany wondered how could the dark brown haired girl thought she was cute. More like scared to death.

“Sorry, sorry…” The mean looking girl said after she had finished laughing. “I guess you’re scared because of my getup, huh…”

“W-Well…” The black haired American girl nodded slowly.

“Yeah, I don’t blame you…” The girl looked a bit sad when she said that.

The cafeteria was quieter now, and some students had already gone back to their classes. Tiffany saw her friends were already gone, and Richard and his boys had just left the cafeteria laughing and joking around like they always do. She wanted to go back to her class too; but somehow she felt a little bad for the mean looking girl. There was something about the fierce girl that made the crescent eyed girl curious about what lies behind her scary look. And so they just sat there without saying anything for some time.

“It’s just how I dressed, you know…” The mean looking girl sighed and wiped the frown on her face. “I’m just comfortable like this…”

“O-Okay…” Tiffany was startled by her sudden comment.

“I’m Jessica, by the way.” The girl put on a smile. “Jessica Ho.”

“Excuse me?” The black haired girl thought she heard wrong.

“Jessica Ho,” The mean looking girl said again. “But you can just call me Jessi.”

“I know; I have the same name as your blonde best friend.” Jessica Ho giggled. “What a coincidence, right?”

“Y-Yeah…” Tiffany forced a smile as her mind instantly pictured that particular blonde girl with blue eyes. The blonde girl with her cute light brown glasses whom she fell in love with. Her Jessie. “What a coincidence…”

“So I hope we can be best friends too!” Jessi looked excited.

“Why?” The crescent eyed girl unconsciously asked. Suddenly she was missing the blonde girl.

“Well, we have a lot in common, you know…” The mean looking Jessica Ho started to explain. “We’re both from the US, and we’re both trainees…”

“Oh, so you’re a trainee too?” Tiffany’s fear suddenly vanished when she heard that.

“Well, technically; I was…” Jessi smiled, and she sounded very proud of herself. “I just got my debut two months ago…”

“Whoa, two months ago?” The crescent eyed girl couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “Back in January?”

“Yeah, what a way to start the new year, huh?” Jessi laughed sheepishly.

“Oh, my God…” Tiffany gasped in awe. “Why didn’t I hear anything about it?”

“Well, we’re in different agencies, you know,” Jessica Ho kept laughing. “I’m with YMC…”

“Oh, really?” The black haired girl couldn’t remember where she had heard the name of the company.

“Yeah, and we’re still working on the marketing, so I haven’t gotten many offers on TV yet.” The mean looking girl brushed her hair aside and smiled proudly. “But I’ve officially debuted.”

“Wow, so cool…” Tiffany stared at Jessi with admiration. “You’re like, the first idol I’ve ever talked to…”

“Yeah, well, would you like to be a friend of that said idol?” Jessica blushed and grinned widely.

“Of course I would!” The crescent eyed girl flashed her eye smile, and they both laughed.

The bell rang and both girls were a little disappointed that they had to go back to their classes, but they had to anyway, so they stood up from their chairs and said goodbyes. But just seconds after Tiffany turned her back, Jessi called out to her and asked her for her cell phone number so they could continue their chat some other time.

During class Tiffany was happy that she had made another friend, and she was getting excited to hear everything about her new mean looking friend. She wanted to hear Jessi’s trainee days, and her new life as an idol. But soon the other Jessie crossed Tiffany’s mind, the blonde one, and once again she felt a stir in her stomach. She was once again torn between avoiding the blue eyed girl, and wanting to stay friends with her. The crescent eyed girl thought it would be easier if she didn’t have to look at blonde Jessica all the time, but now that the blue eyed flirt was absent, she was missing her more and concerned about her. Once again her mind made her think of reasons for why Jessie was absent that day. And every time she pictured the blonde girl’s face lying in her bed with a fever, she felt like she wanted to cry and go see her.

She kept thinking about blonde Jessica that she didn’t even realize school was over, and her friends’ voice woke her up from her daydream.

“Hey, Tiff,” Chloe called her from the door. “We’re going on ahead, okay.”

“See you tomorrow!” The Texan waved to her as she walked out of the classroom.

“See you, Tiff!” Lily followed swiftly.

Tiffany stared at her two friends disappearing behind the door and sighed. No doubt they were still uncomfortable around her, because of Tiffany’s little outburst this morning. The crescent eyed girl wanted to apologize to them, but somehow she was not in the mood to do that. And so she picked up her sport bag and headed to the door. But when she reached it, there was something that made her turned around and stared at Jessica’s empty seat; and it made her feel empty too.

The black haired American girl just stood there staring at nothing for five minutes, before a few giggling girls passed behind her and woke her up. Tiffany let out another sigh and shook her head, and then she grasped her sport bag and proceeded to walk out of that empty class room.

When the crescent eyed girl stood in front of the SM training building, she knew the minute she walks in the girls would start asking her about Jessica too. Tiffany walked slowly into the building, passed the small lobby where a few trainee girls she didn’t know were chatting, and headed to a tall glass door right next to the information desk. She swiped her ID card and the glass door’s light turned green and beeped, and she pushed the door open and walked in. She was now inside another small room, with a small elevator on her right and the emergency stairs next to it.

Tiffany glanced on top of the elevator door, and noticed the light was showing that the elevator was on the fourth floor; the very same floor she needed to be on right now. The black haired American girl hesitantly pressed the button and waited for the elevator to come down. She stared at the light again and waited for it to change numbers, and just noticed that the elevator in that building was quite old and it took so long to change floors, and she could hear the sound of the elevator cables screeching as they lowered the small heavy box. She wondered why she never noticed it before, when she had been using the same elevator for almost five months now. But then she remembered that she had always been going there with Jessica, and they were usually so busy talking with each other that she couldn’t have notice anything but the blue eyed blonde.

The elevator dinged and the door slowly opened, and a few girls rushed outside while chasing each other; giggling and laughing. A girl she knew nodded and waved to her, and she smiled and nodded back. Tiffany then stepped inside the old screechy elevator and pressed the fourth floor. The elevator then slowly moved up and the crescent eyed girl noticed it a little too shaky for comfort, and she grasped the chrome railings to find something safe to hold on to. As the elevator crawled itself up, Tiffany glanced at the mirror and fixed her hair. The elevator had mirrors on both its left and right sides, and the crescent eyed girl thought the company purposely installed them there so the girls could check themselves before heading out. As she stared at the mirror she noticed her reflection was reflected on the opposite mirror and that reflection was reflected back, and they kept getting reflected, creating endless Tiffanys. The crescent eyed girl unconsciously smiled to herself, remembering how she and the blonde girl would strike up poses and laughed at their reflections. Jessica had always managed to find something funny in anything, even a simple thing as looking at the mirror. It was like the blue eyed girl appreciated everything in life, even the smallest ones. That was perhaps what made Tiffany fell for the blonde; among other things. Like how Jessica always listened to the crescent eyed girl with her ridiculously alluring smile. And Tiffany suddenly noticed how she was actually the one who always do the talking, and Jessica was the one who always listened to her. The blonde never talked much, but her smile says it all. A smile that could melt even the North Pole. And Tiffany giggled as she wondered how an Ice Princess could have a smile warmer than the spring sun.

The elevator dinged once more and the crescent eyed girl was woken up from her daydream, and she shook her head and rushed outside. She turned to her left and walked down the empty hallway, and found the door to her first class for the afternoon. But before she could reach the handle, the door swung wide open, and a tall slim girl with short hair lunged at her with incredible speed.

“Pany-ah!” Sooyoung yelled as she hid behind the crescent eyed girl. “Help me!”

“Sooyoung, what are you—“ Tiffany was surprised and tried to turn around, but the tall girl grabbed her shoulders and used her body as a shield.

“—Save me from that nasty ogre!” The tall tanned girl kept shouting.

“Nasty what…” Tiffany glanced at the front and saw a brunette girl pretty much the same height as her walked towards her with an angry look on her face.

“Come here, you skinny pig!” Hyoyeon hissed and her eyes were red like the devil’s. “I’m going to f—ing skin you alive!”

“Hyoyeon, no swearing!” Tiffany crossed her arms and scolded the dancing queen of SME.

“Yeah, no swearing Princess Fiona!” Sooyoung stuck her tongue out at the angry girl.

“Shut up!” The brunette girl shouted. “One more word from you and I’m going to kill you!”

“Hyoyeon!” The crescent eyed girl raised her voice. “Don’t say such things!”

“Shut up, Tiffany!” Hyoyeon turned her fiery glare at the black haired American, and Tiffany took a step back. “This doesn’t concern you.”

“Wh-What happened?” The crescent eyed girl tried to calm her down.

“I figured out who Princess Fiona is,” The dancing queen glared at Sooyoung again. “Or what she is…”

“O-Oh…” Tiffany knew it was going to happen sooner or later. “W-Who told you?”

“Juhyun!” Hyoyeon said without looking away from Sooyoung, who was now clenching Tiffany’s shoulders like she was hanging on her dear life.

“I’m sorry, unnie!” Seohyun’s voice could be heard from inside the classroom, and Tiffany could see the whole class was looking at them; laughing and giggling. “I can’t lie!”

“Traitor!” Sooyoung held out her fist to the youngest girl and Seohyun cowered and hid behind another girl.

“Now then, Tippany…” Hyoyeon put on a scary smile as she stared at Tiffany. “Move. Now.”

“W-Wait a minute, Hyoyeon…” Tiffany laughed awkwardly. “Sooyoung was just kidding, you know…”

“Yeah, I was just kidding, you know!” The tall girl said from her hiding.

Shush, Sooyoung!” The crescent eyed girl whispered as she took another step backward. “Let me do the talking!”

“Well, you’re not exactly doing a good job here!” The tall tanned girl whispered back and clenched onto Tiffany’s uniform even tighter.

“Enough!” Hyoyeon’s voice echoed through the empty hallway as she lunged forward. “Tippany, move your huge out of my face right now!”

“My wha—“

“--Aaahh, help me…!” Sooyoung screamed as she managed to escape Hyoyeon’s clutches, and quickly ran away with all her might, while the brunette dancing queen chased her around the hallway.

Tiffany saw both girls chasing each other in the hallway and disappeared around the corner as Sooyoung ran to the emergency exit with all her might. All that left were echoes of Sooyoung’s screams of terror and Hyoyeon’s shouts, and the laughs and cheers of the other girls from inside the classroom. The crescent eyed girl let out a sigh and turned around to head into the classroom. But after five steps into the classroom she stopped and grabbed her own buttocks with both her hands.

My isn’t that big… She thought to herself. …Is it?

“Tiffany unnie, what are you doing?” Seohyun waved at her from the corner of the class.

“O-Oh, nothing…” The crescent eyed girl shook her head and walked to her younger friend.

“Hyoyeon unnie is so scary when she’s angry…” Juhyun said as Tiffany sat next to her on the floor.

“Yeah, she is…” The black haired American girl smiled.

“I’m sorry I told her about Princess Fiona…” The younger girl said apologetically.

“It’s okay, Seohyun,” The crescent eyed girl said as she patted Juhyun’s head. “You did the right thing.”

“And besides, Hyoyeon is bound to find out sooner or later…”

“Thank you, unnie…” Seohyun smiled sheepishly, and Tiffany found her innocent smile to be adorable.

“You’re welcome.” The crescent eyed girl giggled and pinched Seohyun’s cheek.

“Say…” She stared at Juhyun intently. “You can’t lie, right?”

“Yes…” Seohyun nodded hesitantly. There was something in Tiffany’s eyes that scared her; something dead serious.

“So…” Tiffany leaned closer and Juhyun gulped. “… Do you think…”

“… I have a big ?”

Seohyun took a couple of second before she realized the question. “O-Oh….”

“Oh, unnie…” The younger girl let out a sigh of relief. “I thought you were going to ask me something serious…”

“But this is serious, Juhyun-ah!” The black haired American girl said seriously and she grabbed Seohyun’s arm.

“O-Okay…” The younger girl said timidly.

“So,” Tiffany let go of her arm and smiled intently. “Do you think I have a big ?”

Seohyun stared at her older friend and looked like she was pondering something.

“Does it matter, unnie?” Seohyun finally said.

“What do you mean does it matter?” The crescent eyed girl looked displeased. “Of course it matters!”

“I don’t want people gossiping about how big my is…”

“But-But I think it’s fine, unnie!” Seohyun tried to comfort the distressed girl. “I think you have a nice body!”

“You really think so?” Suddenly Tiffany’s eyes were filled with stars of hope.

“Yes, I really think so!” The younger girl thought that she needed to complement the crescent eyed girl more. “It doesn’t matter if you have a big , because you have a great body proportion!”

“Wait a minute,” Tiffany suddenly realized something. “So are you saying that everything about me is huge?”

“W-Well…” Seohyun looked nervous. “I-I didn’t say that…”

“I mean, I only said what I heard from Sooyoung unnie…”

“Sooyoung?” The crescent eyed girl’s voice filled the room and the other girls turned their heads to her.

“What is it?” The tall tanned girl answered from the door, and the other girls turned their heads to the tall and tanned girl. Sooyoung was walking towards her friends with Hyoyeon beside her; and both girls had messy hairs and clothes, and short breaths. It looked like they had just finished a wrestling match.

Tiffany glared at the tall girl before she turned to Seohyun once more and whispered to the youngest girl. “What else did she say about me?”

“W-Well…” Seohyun looked frightened.

“Hey, Pany-ah,” Sooyoung called her as she kept walking towards them. “What is it?”

“Seohyun, didn’t you say that you can’t lie?” Tiffany ignored Sooyoung and focused on the poor Juhyun.

“S-She said that everything about you is big,” Seohyun finally told her. “Your , your hips, your s…”

“Pany-ah,” The tall girl was getting closer. “Didn’t you hear me?”

“… Your arms, your legs, and your voice, and…” Juhyun closed her eyes as she continued.

“And what?” The crescent eyed girl held her breath.

“Tiffany; don’t ignore me!” Sooyoung shouted.

“… She said you look like you just gave birth to twins—“ Seohyun sighed and covered her face.

“—Choi Sooyoung…!”

“Uh-oh, what did I do this time?” Sooyoung let out a sigh and quickly turned around and ran away when she saw angry Tiffany stood up and started running towards her with a frightening look on her face. “Ahh, help me…!”

The class was filled with laughter when they saw Tiffany chasing Sooyoung around the classroom, while Seohyun was shouting to the crescent eyed girl to forgive the tall slim girl. Hyoyeon let out a deep sigh and shook her head, and sat next to Seohyun and patted the younger girl’s back.

The black haired American girl had just caught Sooyoung and was ready to punish her when the instructor stepped inside the classroom.

“Okay, stop messing around, you girls!” The lady instructor clapped her hands and the class suddenly got quiet.

“Let’s warm up!” Their instructor said and Tiffany unwillingly let Sooyoung go.

It wasn’t until after dinner that Tiffany had her chance to punish the tall tanned girl, and by the time she had Sooyoung in her clutches, she had already calmed down and had decided to give her a less-painful punishment.

“Ouch-ouch-ouch…” Sooyoung whined as Tiffany twisted her ear.

“Stop talking behind my back.” The black haired American girl said calmly as she twisted harder.

Ouch-I’m not talking behind your back-Ouch…” The tall girl whined.

“Oh, really?” Tiffany put on a scary smile.

“Yeah-Ouch-You just weren’t there when I was talking about you-Ouch…” Sooyoung defended herself. “So technically-Ouch-I wasn’t talking behind your back…”

“Stop making things up, Sooyoung,” The crescent eyed girl pulled harder. “Or I’m going to get angry again.”

“Deal-Ouch…”

“Tiffany unnie is so scary when she’s angry…” Seohyun shivered.

“Yeah, she is…” Hyoyeon, who was sitting next to the youngest girl said, and Juhyun felt it was like some kind of a Deja-Vu.

“Where’s Jessica unnie?” Seohyun asked after a while, when Tiffany finally let go of Sooyoung’s ear. And the crescent eyed girl instantly felt another twitch in her stomach. She had forgotten all about the blonde girl and was back being a cheerful and loud girl, but she knew she couldn’t escape Jessica. She was the blue eyed girl’s best friend, and it was normal for Seohyun to ask her where she was; like Chloe and Lily before her.

“I don’t know, Seohyun…” The crescent eyed girl let out a deep sigh.

“Haven’t you message her or something?” Sooyoung asked while Hyoyeon was blowing her red ear.

“I haven’t…” Tiffany felt like she had had enough with the same questions.

“Well, why haven’t you?” Hyoyeon looked puzzled.

“Well, why haven’t you?” The crescent eyed girl asked back. “I thought you guys were her best friends?”

“Wha—“ The dancing queen was about to say something, but was immediately cut off.

“—I mean you guys seemed so determined to prove that you’re her best friends.”

“Yeah, but I thought you’re her best friend now?” Sooyoung said innocently. “I mean; everyone knows that.”

“Well I’m not, okay?” Tiffany was upset all of a sudden. “I am not her best friend.”

“So stop asking me about her!” She said as she stood up and left classroom; leaving her friends puzzled.

“What did I say?” Sooyoung asked her friends, and Hyoyeon and Seohyun could only shrugged as they saw Tiffany’s huge leaving the class.

The crescent eyed girl spent the rest of the evening away from her friends. Deep inside she felt sorry for getting upset with them, when they didn’t even know what happened between her and Jessica. How could they? When she herself wasn’t sure what happened. All she did was keep her distance from the blonde girl without telling a single soul why; well, aside from Elizabeth. And little by little she felt like she was being unfair to her friends, and to Jessica. But every time that thought crossed her mind, she immediately brushed it off, telling herself that everything she did was for the better. Even when she was not sure what would become better.

And so when her classes were over, and Yuri had joined the rest of the girls and invited the crescent eyed girl to go with them to their favorite café; she politely declined and said that she wasn’t feeling well. The tanned girl told her to take some medicine and take care of herself, and Tiffany smiled and waved goodbye.

Once Tiffany arrived home, she immediately went to her bedroom and buried her face against her pillow. She felt awful for turning into this gloomy mean girl who gets upset if anyone mentioned the blue eyed girl’s name. In her mind she knew her idea to keep away from Jessica was failing hard, and she had no one to blame but herself.

Just when she was about to cry from all the confusion in her heart, her cell phone rang. She lifted her head and stared at her pink cell phone, and she was filled with different emotions at once. Deep inside she was hoping that it was Jessica that had texted her; maybe to tell her how she was doing and why she was absent for the day. But her head was telling her that if that was the case, then she shouldn’t reply and ignore her messages. Even better; she shouldn’t read the text message.

But then her curiosity got the better of her, and she grabbed her cell and stared at the screen to see who it was that sent her the text. It was Jessica Ho; the other Jessica she had met earlier today in school. A different Jessica from the one she had fell in love with. And her heart was filled with relief and disappointment at the same time. She was relieved that it wasn’t her Jessie that sent her the message, and so she didn’t have to fight with herself to decide whether she should reply to it or not. But she was disappointed at the same time, because no matter how she was acting these couple of weeks, she still had strong feelings for the blue eyed girl, and the further she was from her Jessie; the more she misses her, and the more she wanted to see her.

In the end she was angry with her confused-self and she threw her cell phone aside and went back to burying her face against her pillow. And just when she was praying to God to give her strength to carry on her plan to keep her distance from Jessica, her cell phone rang once more. The crescent eyed girl took a peek and took a deep breath. She sat up in her bed and reached out to her pink phone, before letting out a sigh and decided to at least read the messages.

What’s up, Tiff? The first message said. So, tomorrow’s Saturday and I was thinking we should hang out after your training’s over. How’s that sound?

Hey, come on. The newest message from Jessica Ho said. It will be fun. I promise.

Tiffany just sat there and stared at the messages. Not too long ago she would totally be excited to receive a text message from a girl named Jessica, and she would be ecstatic if she was invited to hang out with her. But these text messages were not from the same Jessica. In fact; only their names were the same. The Jessica she was missing had beautiful long vanilla blonde hair, and mesmerizing deep blue eyes. She had long eye lashes and cute pointy little nose. Her lips were soft pink and they were thin and small and so soft like silk. Her jaw line was perfect and her nape too. Her skin was so smooth and soft and her fingers were so long and pretty and touchy feely…

The crescent eyed girl shook her head violently to get rid of the image of Jessica Jung. She whined as she felt like all her effort to stay away from the blonde had only succeeded in making her fall in love even more to that blue eyed girl. She pouted and stared at her cell phone again, and wished it was her Jessie that had messaged her.

When her eyes were getting teary, suddenly an idea came into her mind. Maybe hanging out with Jessica Ho wouldn’t be so bad after all. Maybe by hanging out with the mean looking girl, they could be best friends. And maybe when she had a new best friend; she could finally let go of Jessica Jung. Maybe this Jessica Ho was sent by God to help her get over her feelings for Jessica Jung. Maybe it was no coincidence that the mean looking girl had the same name as the person she fell in love with.

Yes; it was not just a coincidence. This must be God’s answer to her prayers. This must be His sign, showing her the way to kill her dirty feelings towards her best friend and absolve her sin. Yes; this must be God’s hand.

And so with a renewed determination and a smile on her face; she picked up her cell phone and wrote a message back to the mean looking girl, and thanked God for the sign He had shown her.

Sounds like fun. I’m in! :)

I feel like... out of all the fanfics that I've read, this is one of the ones that seems really mature. Like the content isn't those typical fluff or angst stories.

Chapter 45: Unfortunately, because I'm so busy these days I barely get to comment :( but I want you to know that I always keep up with this fic and that you always leave a crazy mess XD in the good kinda way though Hehe~ this chapter though...oh gosh, I love, love, LOVE how realistic you make every chapter. It's crazy, and anyone can relate to it. The way Tiffany reacted here was so on point...Ahh teenagers XD BoA however really surprises me, but it's great to have her in the fic :D but then again who can ever resist THE Jessica Jung? Hahaha. Anyway, fantastic update and I will comment when I can, but if I don't...please know that I am always following your updates and always fangirling Hahaha :D
