A brunette clad in blue scrubs and denim jeans scanned the busy food court right when she entered the premises. Her eyes were looking for a petite blonde who she was supposedly going to have lunch with. She made her way through the tables filled with eating patrons into a vacant table she spotted when she thought she arrived earlier than her company. Her stomach was already grumbling just as when she took her seat. Usually, she would already be mumbling curses if she were made to wait for lunch after a very hectic morning at work like today, but Tiffany didn't. Because that day was the very first time she arrived earlier than Taeyeon, so she thought that the girl might've been caught in something so urgent at the hospital she's working. While waiting, she entertained herself by deciding what to have for lunch as she leafed through the row of food vendors surrounding the entire plaza. Tiffany spotted a kiosk of a very familiar food chain with which Taeyeon and her had their first date way back in college. The memory instantly put a little smile on her face, albeit unconsciously, as she recalled how they get to know more about each other during that date. She chuckled as she remembered to have ordered the same set of food Taeyeon did - chicken teriyaki and California maki - both surprised that they share the same favorite meal. It's been 6 years since that date. And it's been a year since I met and kept in touch with her again after I rejected her 5 years ago. "Ehem" Tiffany was slightly startled when she heard the fake cough. She turned her head to the source of the sound and saw Taeyeon standing beside her, her hands holding a tray full of food. She quickly helped the blonde settle the tray carefully on the table and besides the fact that Taeyeon had apparently already ordered food for the both of them, Tiffany was surprised that the girl exactly bought their favorite meal which she had just thought. Meaning gestures like this, attentiveness and care, never went unnoticed to Tiffany, and she applauded Taeyeon for being so consistent since day one. "I thought you'll be late so I secured us a seat first" Tiffany said. Taeyeon sat down beside her - a habit Tiffany noticed from the petite woman since most people opt to sit across her. "I arrived a little early so I decided to just queue and order our food before the lines get longer" Taeyeon replied as she handed Tiffany a napkin, "I even saw you coming in but you know I'm not gonna embarrass myself to try to call you out in the middle of this crowd" she chuckled. "You could've just texted me" Tiffany replied, setting the plates and cutleries in front of Taeyeon. "I'm too lazy to fish out my phone from my pocket" Taeyeon, who's now a resident doctor, grinned. "I'm also trying to save the little battery it has left since I forgot to charge it this morning. The clinic was packed." "Oh," Tiffany scoffed, rolling her eyes, "Tell me about it. The rehab was no different. I had to go back and forth from one intern to another since all of them are booked and I had to supervise them simultaneously." The brunette clinician sighed. Taeyeon took a spoonful, "No wonder you're grumpy" she said with full. "And you should learn to stop talking when your mouth is full, you big baby" Tiffany retorted. Taeyeon just grinned like her usual dorky self. Her cellphone, which she put on the table before she ate, lit, signaling a new message. She wiped then grabbed her phone to check the text and Tiffany saw her smile, the same smile plastered on the young doctor's face when she saw her again a year ago, five years after she rejected Taeyeon. ~ Tiffany was
