Chanyeol just had to end his staring battle with Ah Reum. He was not the type to retreat easily, but if he wanted to find out Ah Reum's mystery, he figured out that he needed to get on her good side.

Good side, meaning, Chanyeol had to be extra nicer to her.

"Soooo, Miss Moon Ah Reum, let's go to the meeting. Together, yes?" Chanyeol asked her with his signature creepy, happy virus smile.

Ah Reum raised a groomed eyebrow at Park Chanyeol because she knew exactly why Chanyeol changed from intense staring battle competitor to a warm, friendly puppy within a few seconds.

She was an examplary judge of body language, and she knew that Chanyeol was being friendly to decode the deep, dark, and dirty secret she had imprinted on her existence.

Straightening her shoulders, Ah Reum glanced at Chanyeol confidently. "Let us go to the meeting, Mister Park Chanyeol." 

Once again, Chanyeol took careful notice of her almost y voice. If she had not been wearing such a low-key and unshowy outfit, he would have found Ah Reum a bit attractive. 

But then, she chose to stick to her essential dark-colored business suit and thick eyeglasses.

Chanyeol watched Ah Reum walk ahead of him across the hallway and studied her reserved and smart manner of walking. Her hips did not sway flirtatiously, unlike the women he had taken to bed. Even Ah Reum's sensible low-heeled closed shoes did not make the annoying clunking sound that made his ears split. He could not believe that demure women still existed. From the way Ah Reum spoke, walked, and dressed, Chanyeol's curiosity rose to new heights.

And his mouth could not simply shut up. Before Ah Reum could even push the meeting room door open, Chanyeol's long arm blocked her.

He had expected Ah Reum's eyes to widen in ashtonishment, but she just blinked once and proceeded to check her silver Cartier wristwatch. Ah Reum looked at Chanyeol with another raised eyebrow. 

True to his nickname as EXO's talking machine, alongside Baekhyun, Chanyeol could no longer hold his question to himself.

"Is that a company uniform, or is it a self-imposed everyday wear?" Chanyeol asked Ah Reum, referring to what she was wearing.

Ah Reum looked sideways, but in actuality, she was not shocked to hear such question from Chanyeol. All her life, she had been dealing with people curious of the way she acted and carried herself.

To begin with, Ah Reum was born reserved. She did not grow up in a noisy household, but she did grow up in the company of solitude. No, she did not have a traumatic experience in her past to make her timid and controlling. She was not a John Green heroine who had a terminal illness and a demoralized heart. She was not a fanfic original character who had been harassed by a sunbaenim in her high school years. Moreover, she just did not understand why people made such a big deal out of her silent and mysterious character. 

It's just that, Ah Reum had been born this way.

But she had a secret that no one knew about.

And did she really need to have a devastating past to have a dark secret? Certainly not.

While so many people at work preconceived that she was secretly into , they were completely wrong. Ah Reum felt uncomfortable whenever people associated her controlling and laconic demeanor with , a haunting past, a bitter childhood and other manifestations of melancholy. She was not like the troubled CEOs from novels that teenagers loved to read these days.
