Today was the day. The day the girl turned 16. The day her body would change and begin giving off the ‘aura’. I’d felt auras before, but from Erak’s decedent, it was said it was supposed to be irresistible. The girl's aura would manifest itself the day she came of age.

My captain, Kame, would make sure the girl was in my domain today where the others wouldn’t have a chance to take her. However we couldn’t be positive this girl was the one we were looking for. Many unusual hints led us to believe it was her, but until we knew for sure-until she started giving off the aura-well, Kame was stationed at her side for now.

To be honest, I am quite determined to mate this girl. She will make me powerful. Powerful enough to become king, to bring prosperity to my people, to give me the strength to protect my people. Yes, I am determined to mate her; duty called upon me to do it. But the emotional obligation would be void.

I didn’t know her and more importantly, I didn’t love her. My heart already belonged to someone else.
