The Final Prince
Dark ElementsThe terror in my eyes was suddenly replaced by a brilliant hope. But before they had even had time to stoop down and raise the fabric that was the only barrier between me and them, the darkness me in. And I was floating in a black vastness of nothingness.
I lay there drifting in the darkness for I-don’t-know-how-long. Hours? Days? Weeks? Although I had been terrified and panicked when the darkness had taken me, I was now strangely calm. My muscles relaxed, the tension slowly draining out of me.
After what seemed like an eternity, a light came into existence, slowly and faintly at first. Gradually the light grew bigger, and brighter until it grew into a warmish blaze the size of a baseball. It was an electric blue-the color of hardened ice and raging fire.
Unlike the darkness that had pulled me in, the light seemed to beckon me forward. I made my way to the light. There was no burning heat, but rather a seductive warmth, that when I reached out and touched it, sent a gentle heat seeping through my fingertips. Thawing me. It spread lazily through the rest of my body engulfing it in a comforting embrace. I wanted more of this lovely bliss.
I walked forward with my arms outstretched. I plunged them into the light.
Oh! The amazing sensation couldn’t be described! I didn’t even hesitate. In wild delight, I stepped into the light and in a flash, it was gone.
I found myself in a dimly lit room. Dark leather couches lined the walls. The walls themselves were made of smooth mahogany panels. It reminded me of a night club. An eerily deserted night club.
“So you’ve come to me at last,” a voice sounded softly from the darkness. Like the room, the voice was dark and mesmer
