PROLOGUE 

I'M (NOT) A MONSTER

He turned his head to the left, his body feeling numb and tired after all that running away from those men. His shirt was completely ruined, covered both in dirt and blood. Was it his? He didn't know. It wasn't important. The last thing he remembers was his friend fighting a man before passing out. Lost in his thoughts, Xiumin didn't notice the man creeping behind him with a gun pointed at his head. His heart pounded in his chest, he couldn't use his powers. Not when he's too tired and weak. The man smirked at him as he closed his eyes. Xiumin heard him pulling the trigger.

BANG!

His eyes snap wide open at the sound. Xiumin saw his friend with a gun in his hand. The man was on the ground lying in his blood. Shocked, Xiumin couldn't speak as his friend runs to him, grabbing his arm to pull him up. 

The older frowns and stares at the taller in concern. "Where are the others?" he questioned. 

"They're already at the bridge," his friend answers. 


Kris didn't let his friend finish, grabbing his other arm before flying in the air. Xiumin has a fear of heights, but he didn't mind being in the air. Away from the disaster that is happening below them.


"Hold on tight, Hyung." The taller one speeds up while the older looked down. 

"I can't believe this is happening," he said, voice starting to crack. 

"I'm serious, Hyung," says Kris. "look down."

Fire everywhere, people screaming and men in black shooting innocent citizens. It started two days ago, he was talking with his siblings when the men barge into their house. His father was shot in the head and his mother in the chest. Xiumin and his brother managed to escape and went to Suho's but his brother was shot in the leg.
