Story 4 || Math Tutor

JungKook only had to be here because he had failed two math exams in a row. As embarrassing as it was to need tutoring, his mom assured him that it was better than having to repeat the same grad again. That is why he was here. That is why he stayed after hours to get tutoring from Park JiMin, an upperclasmen, and probably the sweetest person he had ever met.

It had been one month since tutoring had started, and JiMin and JungKook started meeting everyday after school to go over the lessons that JungKook had earlier that day. His main job was to make sure JungKook was understand the material. JungKook couldn't do it. He just couldn't do it anymore. It was impossible to learn while JiMin was explaining things to him in that sweet voice of his, and staring at him with narrow, but beautiful eyes. "..ook. JungKook." JungKook was brought back to the reality of the moment by his sunbae saying his name. "How would you solve this using the quadratic formula?" JiMin asked, pointing to the paper that was in front of them.

JungKook sighed. He forgot that he was supposed to be focusing on his math work. Looking at the paper, JungKook slowly started to write on the paper. After he had written down the beginning of the equation, JiMin lightly grabbed his hand to stop him. He then took the pencil from his hand. "Remember, the quadratic formula is negative b plus or minus the square root of..." JiMin continued, but JungKook didn't care. He wasn't understanding it, and he was never going to get it. He tried listening to JiMin, but the only thing he could hear was the sound of his voice. Not words.

JungKook caught himself stairing at the elder again, and he refocused his attention to watching JiMin write. JiMin would scribble some things down, then pause for a moment to explain what he was doing. Once, JiMin stopped writing, and he didn't say anything. JungKook started to look up at his face to see what was going on, but suddenly, he felt a hand on his chin. JiMin's hand gently turned JungKook's face toward him, and JungKook nervously swallowed. "Kook." JiMin's voice was soft as he spoke. JiMin's voice was always soft, but there was something different about it this time. "I promise it'll make sense if you just focus."

JiMin started to lean across the desk, and JungKook could feel his breath get caught in his throat. The elder's face drew closer and closer to his before he stopped. "Answer the next one correctly, and I'll continue." JiMin said, leaning back to sit in his chair again. "That should give you some motivation."

He was right. JungKook was now motivated. He started paying attention to everything that JiMin was saying, and he tried to answer each of the questions accurately. He was determined to get one right.

Author's note || Um. Yeah. So. It's the cheesiest story line ever...student and tutor...yeah. I get it. It's overdone. Anyway, it was the first thing I came up with when a high school AU was suggested...so here it is. I'm working on an angst story right now...but I don't like being mean to my babies...so I'm probably not going to be very good at it. (^_^;)
