Story 26 || Your Words

"Taehyung hyung wrote me a love note, but I can't read his handwriting." Jungkook says, handing the card to Jimin. "Do you think you could read it for me?"

"Isn't that too personal?" Jimin questions, a nervous tone in his voice.

"No, I can't read it." Jungkook repeats. "I have to know what it says, and he's your best friend. Please read it to me."

Jimin accepts the card from Jungkook and clears his throat before he begins.

Dear Jungkook,

I'm writing you this letter because I could never bring myself to tell you how I feel in person. I've tried, and failed, many times to tell you how I feel. It's not fair because you always seems to pay more attention to everyone else than you seem to pay to me even though I'm working hard to get you to notice me. When I tried to confess my feelings, I felt so small and insignificant. Like, why would you ever like me of all people? You're breathtakingly beautiful, and I think you could get any person you want. This letter is to simply get my words in a form that you can finally hear...or read them, and I hope that you can tell me if you feel the same.

Jungkook, I've liked since I first met you. I have so many reasons for you liking you, and I can tell you a few of them in this letter. I like the way your eyes sparkle brighter than the stars in the night sky. I like the way you smile a lot, and it's just beautiful enough to lift my spirits when I'm feeling down. I like the sound of your laugh. And Jungkook, most of all, I like you. Please tell me if you feel the same.

"Yes, hyung." Jungkook says, taking the card from Jimin's hand and stepping closer to the elder. "I like you, too."

"Y-you mean Taehyung, right?" Jimin reminds him.

"No. Taehyung may have written the letter, but these are your words." Jungkook notes, intertwining his fingers with Jimin's as he steps even closer to him. Jimin takes a step back. "I'm not an idiot, but Taehyung might be."

"And what makes you think that these are my words?" Jimin asks.

"I don't know, maybe the fact that I don't ignore Taehyung over everyone else." Jungkook points out, again, taking another step closer to Jimin. "I ignore you. Intentionally. That line was a dead giveaway."

"Maybe Taehyung feels like you ignore him." Jimin protests.

"Hyung, I'm saying I like you, too." Jungkook retorts. "Just shut up and accept it." Jungkook pulls Jimin closer to him and places a soft kiss on his lips.

Author's Note || Inspired by the latest episode of Modern Family. The episode didn't go anything like this, but for the case of this story, I like it better. xD Um...
