That plan was stupid! All of this was just ridiculous, but Eunhyuk was starting to accept the fact that he didn’t have a choice. Minha’s return had moved him, deeply. But he never wanted to be in this situation where he had to lie to her or give up Donghae. He knew things would be different, but he was scared at what extent they would change… But because he didn’t know what else to do, he decided to follow Donghae’s wished for the time being.

Eunhyuk went to see Minha at the hospital a lot. It was incredible to open the door and see her laughing, smiling, talking and just walking around. It was like if he was dreaming awake. They spent a lot of time together, trying to find their marks and learning to know each other again. And she was handling everything spectacularly well, considering her situation. Eunhyuk couldn’t help but be impressed by her strength of character, which by the way was always something he admired in her.

One day, during his usual visit, Minha suddenly took his hand in hers and he didn’t pull out. Caressing and playing with each other’s fingers, Eunhyuk felt a warm feeling growing up inside him. It was almost natural to be with her like this, even if it was different from when he was with Donghae…

“Hyukkie… can I ask you a question?”

“Sure.”

“I won’t ask you to love me again… but can I count on you to stay by my side?”

Eunhyuk was so surprise by her demand that he stayed silent.

“I know I have no right to ask you that, after all I’ve put you through! I know I’m being selfish but… I really need you…”

The thin boy entangled his hand on hers and pulled her into a hug. He hugged her for a long while, caressing her hair and just enjoying her warmth. Then he let her go and took her face between his hands.

“I’m always here for you and always will be. No matter what…”

She flashed a smile and hugged him again. While she was in his arms Eunhyuk couldn’t help but think about Donghae. That was what he wanted wasn’t it? Eunhyuk refused to play this game, but the other boy insisted. So the thin boy tried hard to ignore that tingling guilt piercing his heart. He never asked for any of it, but he wouldn’t lie to himself, it didn’t bother him to do so…

After a lot of debate, they’ve all agreed it could be a good thing for Minha to go back to school. Of course, since she’s been gone for 4 years she couldn’t be in the same class as the boys, but after taking a level test and nailing it, the girl was placed in third year, only one year below them, proving again how much of a genius she was. Even if Eunhyuk dreaded a bit her coming back to school, he was happy to have her around. Now the only thing left was to tell everyone else about it… Donghae and he, talked a lot about how they were going to drop the bomb on their friends, but nothing seemed fitted so they decided to just go along with it in the most normal way.

Monday morning Eunhyuk and Donghae were up earlier than usual and already waiting at the school’s gate. The thin boy turned to Donghae who seemed really nervous and took his hand, squeezing it lightly.

“Don’t worry; it’s going to be ok.”

Donghae didn’t turn to him and just kept his eyes on the horizon.

“I know…”

“Then stop being so nervous.”

Donghae sighed and smiled.

“You’re right. Nothing can go wr…”

Before he could finish his sentence, Eunhyuk smashed his lips on the brunet’s shutting him up. The kiss only lasted a few seconds before Eunhyuk pulled out.

“Never say that! It’s bad luck.”

The surprised passed; Donghae hit the thin boy’s arm.

“Are you crazy?! Someone could’ve seen us!”

Eunhyuk was going to reply something when Donghae cut him, becoming suddenly serious.

“By the way… Minha didn’t forget the whole year.”

“She didn’t?” asked Eunhyuk surprised.

The doctors told them, that the year before the accident was completely erased, but indeed it didn’t made that much sense, since she remembered Eunhyuk very well, when they had met this same year.

“It seems that she only forgot Leeteuk-hyung… That’s why her memories from that time are blurry. It seems they already knew each other before our first year in college.”

Eunhyuk turned to Donghae, surprised. He didn’t know about that… He noticed that he knew nothing about his big brother and Minha’s story. He wasn’t sure he wanted to though…

 Soon a car pulled out and Minha got out, still reassuring her parents that everything would be fine. As soon as the boys saw the car, Donghae had let go of Eunhyuk’s hand, rather harshly. But the thin boy wouldn’t be upset for that… He knew that now they would have to play that masquerade and that Donghae was terrified of his sister having any suspicions about them. Minha walked towards them as the car left.

“Aish… I feel like on my first day in high school, I’m 22 and still feeling like a kid.” she complained.

Then she stopped in front of the two boys and she stared at them, surprised.

“It is still super weird to see you two together.” she said.

Eunhyuk and Donghae exchanged nervous glances but the girl just ignored it and took them both by one arm.

“Bu I’m super happy to have my two most loved men beside me to me to slaughter…”

Donghae laughed and Eunhyuk just smirked. She really had the gift to light up the mood and turn awkward situations into something fun and bright. That was Lee Minha.

The boys accompanied her to the main office so she could take her future schedule, and at the same time they showed her the school a bit, since she hadn’t had the time to know the college. After that a teacher offered to accompany her to her classroom and show her the facilities. Donghae tried to follow her and the teacher but the girl turned around and put a hand on his chest stopping him on the spot.

“Hae… You don’t need to come with me. I’m not a kid or a sick person… I’m only dead and amnesiac.”

Donghae contained a laugh, because it wasn’t all that funny, but the way she said it, was. The girl smiled at him and with a last meaningful stare she walked away with the teacher, leaving her brother behind. Eunhyuk could see that the brunet was making a huge effort not to follow her.

“You’re so much worse than I am.” Eunhyuk commented, coming next to the boy.
