Why Not?

Truly Valuable
Hyunseung left as soon as he could and headed to Hyuna's house. He wanted to surprise her with a visit, hoping they could go out for a late night date. He and Hyuna have been together for a year already, and he's been nothing but head-over-heels for her, staying loyal to her, and getting her whatever she wanted.

Hyunseung understands that she is naturally y and attracts every guy in the room, but he knows that Huyna loves him enough to stay loyal to him as well. Does he really?

As Hyunseung was driving a block away from her house, he saw a very familiar figure a few cars ahead. He parked across the street and got out, looking over at Hyuna, who was currently wearing a very short dress and walking a little too wobbly. This irritated him. Why is she exposing so much!? It's late and it's dangerous for a pretty girl like her to be outside alone. Why is she walking like that? Did she drink? Why does she never listen to me!?

Hyunseung was very stirred and crossed the street to make his way to the sidewalk that she was walking on. As he reached the sidewalk, he realized that she wasn't alone. She was with a man. Hyunseung quickly hid behind a car parked near them.  They're holding hands! What is happening here? Okay, don't panic, maybe there's an explanation. Hyunseung didn't want to be quick to judge a possible innocent case, so although he thought it was wrong, he stayed and spied on them. The guy could be her brother, maybe. Siblings can hold hands, yeah...yes they can...but that'll be weird... wait, does she even have a brother?

Right when Hyunseung turned back to watch, he saw Hyuna "pretend" to fall, shortly being caught by the man next to her.

"Careful babe!" the man scolded her as he put his arms around her waist and pulled her close. She replied with her cute laugh as the guy leaned down and kissed her on the lips.

Hyunseung turned away from the scene, clearly shocked about this whole thing. Okay, definitely NOT siblings! Is she cheating on me? There's no way Hyuna would do this to me. No way. Would she? I got to settle this. He straightened himself and was about to come out of hiding, but stopped when he heard the guy speak.

"Babe, I'm tired of sharing you with that guy. You got rid of the others, get rid of this one. Do you love him more than me?"
"Of course not, I only love you. The rest are just toys, you know that."
"Then break up with him."
"Fine, I'll find some excuse to-"

"There's no need Hyuna." Hyunseung had enough and interrupted their conversation.
The couple turned to Hyunseung, and Hyuna quickly separated from the guy. "Hyunseung! I can explain!" Hyuna looked at him with pleading eyes.

"Then explain." Hyunseung challenged. At this, Hyuna was speechless. She looked at the guy next to her and back at Hyunseung. Silence filled the air between the three of them.

Hyunseung sighed, hoping that there was actually a different story behind everything, but was just disappointed with the result. "It's okay, I heard everything already." Hyunseung confessed while putting on a serious face. At that moment, it was like he was putting up walls to protect himself. Suddenly, Hyuna's innocent face turned into a bored one, "That's better I guess, saves me from all that acting in front of you." The guy then happily wrapped his arms around her from behind.

Hyunseung smiled weakly and nodded a little, "I guess this is it." He turned around, walked a few steps, and faced them again, "Hyuna?" Both Hyuna and her boyfriend looked at Hyunseung, "Take care of yourself for me." He walked back to his car, and drove away.

"Ugh finally! At least that was easier than expected." the guy said while they headed back to her house.
"Yeah." Hyuna quietly agreed as she kept walking, ignoring that little tugging at her heart.

Kikwang came out of the locker room and entered the dance studio, where Yoseob had just finished stretching and gotten up. Kikwang put his things on the floor and began his stretching, "So what you think about Min?" he started. Yoseob was plugging his phone to the speaker, "She's cute and charming" he looked at Kikwang as he stood next to him and smirked, "Why? You like her already?"

Kikwang rolled his eyes, "Why would I like her? She's pretty but she's kinda chubby." Yoseob looked at him, "Why not? I like her. And chubby? Wow. You can't judge a book by it's cover." "Let's just start" Kikwang said, ignoring his question. He got up from the floor and faced the mirror. Yoseob shook his head disapprovingly and sighed at his friend. Music started playing and they started to rehearse their dance.

"So did you guys drive here or...?" Min asked as they stepped out of the hotel. "No, we all hitched a ride with our parents here." Doojoon said. "Oh okay, then you guys won't mind if you let this girl drive, would you?" Min asked, pointing at herself. "We're prepared for anything, Min." Dongwoon said, getting a small laugh from Min, "Alright then, let's go!"

Min led them to her car, "Did you guys want to change first? I can drop you guys off at your house. You guys look great and all but I'm pretty sure it's gonna get kinda uncomfortable in those suits." They looked down at their clothes and looked at each other. "We can go to my house. Dongwoon has some clothes there." Doojoon said as he got into the car, seating himself in the passenger seat while Dongwoon sat in the back.

Doojoon guided Min to his house and she parked the car in front. "Aren't you going to change too?" Doojoon asked. "I have a set of clothes in the back of my car. I can change later." Min replied. "Hyung." Dongwoon said and gave Doojoon a look, telling him to invite her in.

Doojoon turned back to Min and firmly said, "Come inside and bring your clothes," before Min could politely refuse, Doojoon started again, "and I won't take no for an answer." Min smiled and nodded. The three of them got out of the car and after Min got her sport's bag, they headed inside.

"This is my place, make yourselves at home!" Doojoon proudly announced as he presented his house with his hand. Min was in awe. From the entrance to the living room to the kitchen to the large TV to the movies and video games placed near it. She was a fan of video games, so everything just got even better to her. "Woah, its super nice and cozy here! You got games too!" Min exclaimed as she admired every little detail of the house.

"Thanks Min. You should come by more often. It gets pretty lonely when it's just me in here." "Really?" Min looked at him. "Why not, right?" Doojoon said and smiled. Min couldn't stop smiling from all the excitement she was getting. Doojoon was internally laughing at Min while she kept looking around with such curiosity.

"Dongwoon and I are going to change now, so go ahead and explore around if you want. Bathroom's just around that corner." Doojoon told her as he followed Dongwoon upstairs. "Okay, thanks." Min headed to the bathroom and changed into her casual clothes.

She decided to head back to the living room and wait for them instead. Doojoon can give her a full tour of his house next time. She sat on the couch and took out her phone. 8:15. There's time. Umma and Appa are busy so I guess it's just me then. Min looked where the stairs led to. Maybe they can go?...Nah, who am I kidding.

Min was on her phone, checking the weather for tomorrow and soon heard footsteps coming down. She got up and walked to them, "Ready?" "Yup" they both replied. At that, Min drove them to a mini diner. They went in and sat down. Doojoon and Dongwoon sat together and Min sat across them. At the sight of Min, an ahjumma approached their table.

"Min! Have you come by for one of your after-dinner snack again?" she asked. Min laughed softly, "Ne (yes)." "Oh, I see you've brought some friends! Omo, they're so handsome!" Ahjumma exclaimed, making the two boys smile awkwardly and thank her while lightly bowing their heads to her. "Ahjumma, stop making them feel so awkward." Min told her. "Okay, okay." Ahjumma said. As she was about to hand out the menus, Min stopped her. "It's okay, we'll take the usual and three cokes." Min said and ahjumma left with a smile.

"Sorry about that. Ahjumma tends to get too...uh...." Min cleared , "As you can see, I come here pretty often. That's why that ahjumma knows me so well." Min explained as their drinks came, "I hope you like the food though, it's really good here." They conversed a little and ahjumma came with the food shortly.

She placed two plates filled with pieces of fried chicken on the table and a few small dishes on the side, that included vegetables and different types of sauces. Doojoon had his eyes widened, looking at the fried chicken. "This is Min's usual. How does this little girl manage to eat all this by herself?" the ahjumma questioned. Dongwoon was listening to Ahjumma while Doojoon was still staring at the chicken with wide eyes. "I mean, she eats before she comes here! Not to mention that this is ONLY her after-dinner snack. You should see her usual usual, the usual she usually gets when she's empty-stomached and whe-" "Ahjumma!" Min stopped her before she could go any further. The ahjumma got the message and smiled, "Hehehehe, me and my loud mouth. Enjoy!" she said as she went back to work.

When Min was too busy looking back at the Ahjumma, Dongwoon examined the food placed in front of them, "That's a lot after eating dinner." Min awkwardly laughed, "A girl's gotta eat what she's gotta eat."

Doojoon finally broke away from his trance and looked at Min with a serious face, "Min." "Yes?" Min looked back at him, scared that she was in some kind of trouble. Did I do something wrong? Does he not like chicken? Maybe he's allergic?! Min quickly attempted to move the chicken plate away from Doojoon but was stopped by Doojoon.

"Min, you do not know how happy I feel right now." Doojoon said as he got all emotional over chicken. Min was so confused, "Um...it's only food" she said with a comforting voice, trying hard to prevent Doojoon from crying. "Not to Doojoon hyung," Dongwoon cut in while chewing on a chicken wing, "Hyung loves fried chicken, so you practically just became someone really important to him. Mmhmm, this is good!"

"Fried chicken is like my best friend." Min said as she grabbed a piece of chicken for herself, "Doojoon, you better start eating before Dongwoon eats it all." Doojoon didn't hesitate to chow down the chicken.

So they ate the chicken and talked. When they were finishing up, the topic of movies eventually got brought up because of Dongwoon. "I had to miss the whole movie because we had a meeting that day! Ugh! Now I have to buy another ticket! Maybe I should just wait until the dvd comes out." Dongwoon groaned at the memory.

"Which movie?" Min asked.
"X-men." Dongwoon sighed.
"What? Really?!" Min exclaimed as she stopped eating her chicken.
"Yeah, why?" He looked at Min.
"I got three tickets for tonight! It starts at 9:45.  You guys wanna go!?" Min asked with much anticipation on her face.
"Are you kidding me? Yeah I wanna go! I'm not sure about Doo-"
"Count me in." Doojoon said, grinning at them, before asking, "Wait, why'd you buy three?"
"Oh, it was originally for my parents and I, but they couldn't make it." Min explained.
"Is it really okay for us to go though?" Doojoon asked.
"Of course it is! It's more fun to watch it with somebody rather than nobody."
"So you were going to go watch it alone at this late hour? Isn't that a little dangerous?" Dongwoon looked surprised.
"It's okay, I'm used to it." Min replied.

She couldn't help but frown when the thoughts of the countless times she ended up alone and disappointed reached her mind. Her mom would go with her when she could but business usually got in the way most of the times. Her dad, however, would always be busy. Sometimes she would often wonder if he was actually "busy" and not doing something else. But Min would always buy three even though she knew her dad wouldn't go. She quickly covered it with a smile, remembering that she had company.

It was only for a second but the sad look didn't go unnoticed to Doojoon and Dongwoon. Dongwoon was curious about her frown and was going to ask her about it but was stopped when he felt Doojoon's hand on his shoulder. Doojoon shook his head and gave him a look, warning him to not ask.

"I'm going to use the restroom for a sec." Min said as she excused herself from the table.

When Min was far enough, Dongwoon finally asked his question, "What does she mean she's 'used to it'?"
"I don't know." Doojoon said, recalling the sad look she wore. He didn't like seeing her sad at all.
"Did you see her face? She looked so sad." Dongwoon said.
"Yeah, but now isn't a good time to ask. By the look of it, it's better to just leave it alone." Doojoon advised. Before Dongwoon could say anymore, Doojoon decided to change the subject, "Hey, shouldn't we pay for the meal?"
"Oh yeah. Here's our chance when Min's still gone."

Doojoon signaled for the ahjumma and she came to their table. "Hello my handsome boys, is there anything I can get you?"

"Check's fine." Doojoon smiled.
"I'm sorry but I'm afraid Minnie beat you to it." Ahjumma said after she recovered from her shocked face. Suddenly, Min appeared behind ahjumma and looked at them, "You guys ready? I'm gonna go warm up the car first! Take your time okay? Bye ahjumma!" Min walked outside.

They got up and thanked the ahjumma. Ahjumma smiled at this, "Wah, such polite boys! Min deserve friends like you guys."
"What do you mean, ahjumma?" Dongwoon couldn't help but ask.
"It's nothing, really. I'll tell you some other time. Anyways, take care of Mini Min for me! Come back soon!" She said.
"Okay! We will!" Doojoon assured her. They exited the place and went into Min's car.

Chapter 17: Beast is the absolute WORST group to ship Min with. It's nearly impossible to decide who she should end up with. I feel like Beast is the only group I genuinely have this problem with when it comes to shipping a member with Min. In real life she's close to all the members, she's had so many great moments with each one, and they each look sooo good together with her. Especially in this story. First I'm like "Yes, MinKwang for life!" but then I'm like, "I've always been a er for DooMin", but then MinHyung looks so good together and they happen to have a cute real life friendship too and of course, who can forget the adorable MinSeob or The 91 liner couple and all their friendships. The only one I'm okay with not shipping in this story is Hyunseung and Min. He has the perfect outside perspective and they seem like legit friends while there's so much tension between everyone else. He brings that relief TBH. Ugh, but right now I feel like I'm the most torn between MinxDoojoon, MinxKikwang and MinxSeobbie. And in that order.
