Things They Do

When Yixing returned to the dorms, he was greeted with darkness. Did the guys go to bed already? Gently shutting the door behind him, he blindly reached out for the light switch, startled when his fingers jabbed into what felt like a person.

There was a grunt of pain, followed by a cough.

Suddenly, the lights flipped on and Yixing had to squint his eyes, the brightness blinding him momentarily.

"Happy Birthday!" voices erupted as his bandmates awkwardly posed, all wearing unicorn horn party hats.

The things they do for people.

Yixing blinked slowly, eyes scanning the room before they landed on the person nearest him -- Sehun. Yixing cracked an apologetic smile and embraced Sehun, realizing what he had come in contact with in the darkness was Sehun's throat. "I'm so sorry."

Sehun chuckled lightly, gently patting the birthday boy's back. Some of the others came over and hauled Yixing to the table where the cake was placed in the center, the candle unlit.

"You came back early," Chanyeol grinned, holding a box of matches. Once the clock struck midnight, Chanyeol lit the candle.

Yixing's cheeks hurt from smiling as he stood in the center of the small circle while his friends sang and clapped their hands. When it came time to blow out the fire, he closed his eyes and made a wish.

I couldn't resist making a short drabble for Lay. He is such a cutie pie :3
