When I signed up for the scholarship to attend Eliston Academy, I did not expect to be faced with challenges, tough decisions and most of all, boys who have absolutely no shame in blackmailing girls. I also didn't sign up for crushes and unlikely couples. I signed up for the high reviews about how academically strong the school really was, and how it could benefit your future. I was thrilled when I was notified that I had been accepted, and dreamt everyday until today of how wonderful it would be to be. Surrounded by peers and brilliant teens who's main objective was to study and become successful people. Sure, I heard many rumours of how the students were rich and spoiled brats, but it was just a rumour, right?

   I was done my packing when my mother poked her head through the door of my room. She smiled and placed one last shirt neatly into my suitcase before zipping it up. Since I was going to be living in the dorms of Eliston, I would rarely come home, other than two days a month, and I was devastated. My mother hugged me and I heard her sniffle.

      "It's okay mom, I'll return sometime this month to visit you," I said carefully, knowing she was quite a sentimental person. 

      "I will miss you so much Soo Min. You are my pride and joy. I'm so proud of you." my mother beamed and patted my hair. I was happy I had recieved a scholarship, so my mother wouldn't have to pay the high fees of the school. We did not have much money, and we both had to work several jobs to support ourselves. 

   I grabbed my phone off my nightstand and hugged my mother again. I pulled up the handle on my suitcase and slung my bag over my shoulder. My mother and I walked out of my room, and out of the house. 

      "Mom, remember that you should take break from work okay?" My mother nodded and wiped her eyes, smiling. 

      "Oh, Soo Min, I'll miss you so much" my mother smiled. She handed me a envelope with several bills inside, and I felt myself tearing up. I handed it back to her, knowing I couldn't except it, but she stuffed it into my bag.
