“Ahhh… That was a satisfying lunch!” Sooyoung sighed as she wiped and patted her full stomach.

“Considering that you ate enough to feed the rest of us, you had better be satisfied…” Hyoyeon told Sooyoung in a reprimanding tone, as she shook her head. “I still have no idea how she can eat sooo much and still have a perfect figure…” Hyoyeon thought.

“Hey! Yoona ate almost as much!” Sooyoung retorted defensively. Yoona just grinned guiltily as she realised that her cousin and her practically finished all the food that Hyoyeon cooked and placed on the dining table. Thankfully, Hyoyeon was prepared and had kept aside enough food to feed the rest of them.

“Okayyy, now you two shikshins go off to do whatever you want, while the rest of us can eat in peace, without fear of our food getting stolen.” Hyoyeon said as she chased Sooyoung and Yoona out of the kitchen before taking out the extra food she cooked from a hiding place.

“Damn I think I’m still hungry…” Sooyoung complained.

“You’re always hungry, unni!” Yoona replied.

“You too!” Sooyoung retorted.

“Fine, point taken.” Yoona conceded, as they lay down in the grass to look at the clouds like they used to do when they were young. “Remember we used to do this when we were young? We always had to be chased out before poor Yuri wouldn’t have anything to eat.” Yoona told Sooyoung. Sooyoung silently nodded as she suddenly sensed a group of souls with evil auras. “Not good…The evil forces are getting stronger at a faster rate than before…Looks like I need to speed up the training and maybe we might need to travel and train at the same time, if absolutely necessary…” Sooyoung thought.

Standing up, Sooyoung summoned the rest of the trainers to discuss with them to come up with a new training schedule. Meanwhile, Yoona had fallen asleep with a smile on her face, no doubt dreaming about her dearest twin sister, Yuri. “Children of the God of Sleep love to sleep whenever possible.” Sooyoung thought as she saw her cousin falling asleep.

A while later, all the girls gathered back in the training field. Sooyoung proceeded to tell them about the change in training plans and then passed the time on to Yonghwa to teach them how to enter their weapon’s world.

“Okay girls, listen up carefully! Once you enter your weapons’ world, you can’t leave until you defeat them or you get defeated. If you get defeated, you die and in this case, your weapon won’t die with you, instead they will turn rouge and destroy everything in their sight, until they are killed or someone strong enough is able to take full control of them.” Yonghwa warned them, before going on: “Which is why we originally wanted you girls to get to know your weapons better before teaching you girls this. However, time is not on our side, so we have no choice. If it is any consolation, if any of you die, Sooyoung is strong enough to take full control of your weapons, so they won’t die or wreak havoc.”

The girls gasped in shock, while Sooyoung leaned back against a tree and closed her eyes to concentrate on gathering her energy in case she had to take control of a rouge weapon. “I hope it won’t come to that…” Sooyoung thought, as she made a silent prayer to her dad.

“Are you girls ready for it?” Yonghwa asked. The girls nodded their heads in determination as they knew that the fate of the world rested on their shoulders. Seeing the determination in the girls’ eyes, Yonghwa smiled and continued: “First, soul align with your weapons and feel the connection opening between you and your weapon. Through this connection you can know what each other is thinking and feeling. You can also communicate with your weapon through your mind, so your enemies won’t know what you’re planning to do with your weapon. Try this first.”

The girls proceeded to soul align with their respective weapons. Taeyeon found out that Sunny actually like the feeling when Taeyeon touched her and commented the fact to Sunny through her mind. Taeyeon immediately felt the embarrassment flooding Sunny’s mind, as Sunny asked her to shut up.

Tiffany, on the other hand, felt how much Jessica loved her and to her surprise, Tiffany found out that Jessica spent her free time fantasizing about herself and Tiffany doing things that made Tiffany’s face turn completely red.

Seohyun, who was soul aligning with Yoona and Yuri for the first time, took a deep breath before shouting: "Twin Blades of Eternal Slumber, SOUL ALIGN!!!" Seohyun felt her sisters’ souls aligning themselves to hers, so she just relaxed and smiled to herself. “My unnis are the best!” Seohyun thought as she felt the connection between her and her weapons open and she could feel what they felt and know what they thought. “Aigoo, unni!!! Do you guys just think of doing those stuffs with each other everyday?!!” Seohyun complained to her sisters through her mind. Yoona and Yuri didn’t have to reply, Seohyun could feel their embarrassment.

But that was not all… There was a bright flash of light and Blade of Eternal Bliss and Blade of Eternal Pain combined to form a double-sided sword, with curved blades forming an ‘S’ shape, to represent the word ‘Slumber’. A single word appeared in Seohyun’s mind and she uttered it: “Sleep”. Immediately, Yonghwa, who unfortunately was looking at the black curved blade of Seohyun’s weapon, screamed in agony as he collapsed to the ground into an eternal nightmare. Krystal, on the other hand, was slightly luckier as she was looking at the white curved blade, so she just collapsed onto the ground with a smile on her face.

“Well, now we know what the power of your weapon in the soul aligned state is… Eye contact with either blade will render a person to fall into an eternal dream or eternal nightmare, depending on which blade is seen.” Sooyoung commented, carefully avoiding eye contact with her cousin’s weapon.

Just then, another word appeared in Seohyun mind and she uttered it: “Insomnia” No sooner than when the word left , Yonghwa and Krystal woke up, dazed but otherwise unhurt. “Well, at least there’s a way to reverse your power…” Sooyoung commented.

“Do you think you can use Insomnia on Jessica in the morning to wake her up?” Tiffany asked. Seohyun shrugged and replied: “Not sure, but we can try.”

“Seo, my dearest goddess… What have I done wrong to incur your wrath and eternal agony…” Yonghwa asked.

“That’s for leaving my dearest dongsaeng!” Yuri replied, before Seohyun could say anything.

“Sorry…” Yonghwa apologized and continued: “Now, in order to enter your weapon’s world, you must think of what your weapon symbolizes. After which, you have to focus on that and clear your mind of everything else. You should be in your weapon’s world when you achieve that state. Let’s do it one person at a time. Taeyeon, since you’re the leader, you go first, kay?”

Taeyeon nodded and closed her eyes and thought of what her weapon, The Dissonant Blade, symbolises. Taeyeon smiled as she realised her weapon symbolised dissonance and she focused on it, clearing her mind of everything else.

As she opened her eyes, Taeyeon saw Sunny standing in front of her. Taeyeon looked around her and saw that the world around her was always shifting, always wanting to break free of something and pretty much full of dissonance. She then realised that she was still holding on to a short sword, even though Sunny was standing in front of her.

“Welcome to my world of dissonance, Byuntaeng! Let me warn you, in my world I can release my power without being in weapon form, but you still can use your warping ability and release my Aligned state power with the short sword, you’re holding, in addition to utilizing my Innate power. The short sword you’re holding is me without my soul and by defeating me, my soul will go into the sword and I’ll be under your complete control, so you will be able to release my Resonating state power.” Sunny happily told her partner.

“Ah, I see…” Taeyeon replied and warped the space around her to make herself invisible, before dashing towards Sunny, shouting the word ‘Dissonance” as she attempted to stab Sunny.

“Byuntaeng-ah, you’re in my world, so I know exactly where you are even if I can’t see you. You’ve got to do better than this. Think about what you can do to defeat me.” Sunny told Taeyeon, as she easily dodged Taeyeon’s attack, before she turned around quickly to grab Taeyeon.

Sunny uttered the word: ‘Dissonance’ and sparks arched over Taeyeon, but Taeyeon was smiling and not dying. Sunny was completely puzzled, as her power release should have killed Taeyeon.

“Sunny, are you sure you know where I am?” Taeyeon told her partner. Sunny closed her eyes and concentrated to find where Taeyeon was. Then she realised, Taeyeon was behind her and not in her hands.

“Okay, you got me there. I was too focused on what I saw and fell for your trick. Smart of you to warp the space such that I thought you were trying to stab me from the back, when you were just imitating the action in front of me.” Sunny commented, irked by the fact that she had been tricked so easily. Taeyeon just smiled and dashed away so that she could have some time to come up with a plan before Sunny could reach her. Sunny cursed under her breath and set out towards Taeyeon’s location, running as fast as she could.

“Think Taeyeon! THINK!!! Damn it’s so hard to think properly in Sunny’s world, because of the dissonance. It’s disrupting my thoughts… Arghhh…How to defeat my Bunny and gain control of her?!! Wait gain control? No that can’t be right…Ah, I see…Sunny, you nearly got me! But it all ends now…” Taeyeon thought, as she smiled and closed her eyes to concentrate on becoming one with the dissonance.

Slowly, but surely, Taeyeon felt the world around her stop shifting, as she sensed Sunny’s presence right behind her. Opening her eyes to look around, she saw a vast landscape filled with greenery, dogs and cats running around and a lone cow grazing in the middle of the clearing. Taeyeon turned around to see her partner, Sunny, smiling brightly at her and she flashed her dorky smile at Sunny, before running to embrace Sunny.

“I knew you could do it. I knew you’re the only one who truly understood me. You’re the only one who can resonate with dissonance. You make my life complete, Byuntaeng.” Sunny whispered into Taeyeon’s ear.

“Of course! You’re my Bunny, and you’ll be mine forever and ever and ever!!!” Taeyeon whispered back to Sunny’s ear. “And so will your !!!” Taeyeon continued before grabbing Sunny’s .

“YAH!!! BYUNTAENG!!! Just because I like the feeling doesn’t mean you can do it all the time…” Sunny shouted, as she punched Taeyeon. “Anyways, now that I am assured that you fully understand me, the bond between us is complete and our souls can resonate, so you can release my Resonating state power.” Sunny told Taeyeon, who was still patting her gently.

“That’s great! So let’s go back to the real world and tell the rest, this piece of good news!” Taeyeon said, happily. Sunny nodded and she dissipated into the air, as her soul returned to the short sword in Taeyeon’s hand. Bright light engulfed Taeyeon and when it died down, she was back in the real world.

Though it seemed like a few hours passed to Taeyeon and Sunny, in actual fact, only five minutes had elapsed from the time Taeyeon entered into Sunny’s world. In the five minutes, to the outside world, Taeyeon was just closing her eyes and holding her sword with both hands, the sword in front of her face, pointing upwards. At the end, a yellow light engulfed Taeyeon and her sword. Her eyes opened and she smiled at her weapon. From the blade of her weapon, she could see Sunny’s soul smiling back.

“Good job, you succeeded. As expected of the leader.” Sooyoung praised Taeyeon. Taeyeon’s parents were filled with pride, after all it’s not often that a sixteen year old girl is able to soul resonate with her weapon. Krystal and Yonghwa smiled as well, but anxiety could be detected in their eyes, as they were worried about their sister and girlfriend, respectively, who had yet to achieve soul resonance with their respective partners.

Sooyoung proceeded to summon thirty souls and revived them temporarily. She told Taeyeon to soul resonate with Sunny and defeat the thirty souls. Taeyeon nodded and shouted: “SOUL RESONANCE!!! Lightning Dissonance!!!”

Taeyeon and Sunny transformed into a ball of destructive energy and passed through each of the thirty souls at the speed of light, before materializing behind the souls. For a second nothing happened. After that, however, sparks arched across the thirty souls, killing them instantly and they returned back to being souls. Sooyoung dismissed the souls before telling Taeyeon: “Not bad… Pretty cool power you have there!”

“Hehe… My Sunny is SOOO powerful, right!” Taeyeon replied happily, laughing like an old lady. Sooyoung rolled her eyes at the dorky maknae and turned her attention to Tiffany.

“Tiffany, you next.” Sooyoung told Tiffany. Tiffany nodded as she closed her eyes to focus on the one thing that her weapon symbolized: ice. She slowly cleared of everything else, but ice. She shivered as she felt the surrounding temperature drop drastically and she opened her eyes.

Tiffany smiled as she saw that the world she was in was made of ice. Ice was everywhere. And most importantly, Jessica was standing in front of her giving her one of the iciest glares she had ever received. She smiled brighter, trying to melt Jessica with her eye smile.

“Your eye-smiles don’t work in my world, Tiffany Hwang Miyoung.” Jessica replied coldly. “Neither will your fire, as my world is full of ice, even the air around us is made up of water vapour only, ready to be frozen at my command. No oxygen means no fire.” Jessica warned Tiffany.

“The spear that you are holding is me, but it is just a shell, with no soul in it. You will have to defeat me first before my soul will return back to the spear. You can still use it to release my Aligned state power and utilize my Innate power, but so can I, while in human form.” Jessica told Tiffany and suddenly shouted: “Sooo… FREEZE!!!”

Luckily, Tiffany was prepared and she ducked sideways just as the air around where she was standing, froze solid. Tiffany pointed her spear at Jessica and shouted: “Freeze”. The air around Jessica froze solid, trapping Jessica in it. “That’s it? I won? Seems too easy…” Tiffany thought.

Just as she thought, it was too easy… Jessica unfroze the air and smirked at Tiffany: “I’m the ice princess, you can’t freeze me! But I can freeze you. So, Freeze!”

Tiffany continued dodging, as Jessica kept freezing the air around Tiffany. Tiffany was in deep trouble, as she couldn’t summon fire or couldn’t freeze Jessica. Most importantly, Tiffany was getting exhausted… She could lose her concentration anytime and any lapse would mean her getting frozen solid.

Then it happened… A lapse in concentration… And Tiffany was frozen solid, completely. “So this is how it ends…” Tiffany thought as she slowly slipped into unconsciousness, her grip on life slowly slipping away.

“I thought you were better than this, Tiffany. Looks like I was wrong.” Jessica thought, as she turned around, walking away from her frozen partner. Tears flowed freely, as she thought:“Fany-ah…I thought you would make my life complete…Now the world shall end in ice and feel my wrath!”
