They both walked side by side towards Seokchon Lake that was not far from the restaurant. Both of them silent and the

awkwardness between them were slowly reaching its limit point ready to explode any moment now. The scenery at the park was

beautiful as if it was taken straight from the movies. The cherry blossoms were blooming around the park. The smell of flowers

blooming danced around them. There were not a lot of people at the park just a few couples sitting under the cherry blossoms.

Some cuddling, some kissing and some were simply talking. The romance could be felt emitting from these couples, blossoming

like the spring. Seunghyun sat on a bench under one of the trees and Sophie followed silently. They both sat staring at the dark

lake neither uttering anything until Seunghyun broke the silence.

“Mianhe Sophie” his deep voice shattering the huge block of ice separating them.

Sophie remained silent and continued staring at the lake.

Seunghyun continued “I was out of line and it was my fault. Let’s stop being awkward”

Suddenly Sophie moved closer to Seunghyun and turned to face him. She inched closer, braving herself until she could smell the

soju from his breath and kissed him gently on the lips. Both their eyes closed. His hands were on her neck and she ran her fingers

through his hair. The light spring wind was blowing and the cherry blossoms fell around them like snow in winter. They were so

close that he could smell the fruity scent of her shampoo and she could smell the musky scent of his perfume. They kissed

passionately under the neon lights of Seoul city when suddenly he pulled back and broke their kiss. He rubbed his nape and

quickly stood up.

His deep voice croaked as he said “I need to go”

And he sprinted away from the park leaving Sophie alone once again broken by his actions.
