My heart pounded. My hands began sweating. My breaths were short and raspy. My mind was foggy. My fingers gripped tightly on the handle and I shut my eyes in fear and excitement. 

It was finally time. 

Finally time to fight the wizard with the rewarded wand. 

After Kaso left, silence emerged the area and nobody talked. Kris left the scene first, his feet fast against the ground. He was out of sight when the rest of us followed his footsteps. 

Of course he was sad, and remorseful. He was the one who had this connection with Kaso. Well, they just knew each other on the same day Kaso left, but Kris had been holding onto him from the time we found it. Kaso must have did something to Kris's feelings to make Kris feel so close to Kaso. Maybe Kaso has this voodoo thingy. Whatever it was, Kaso's leave had affected Kris deeply. 

My mind wandered back to the present, and I opened my eyes when I heard someone calling my name. Chanyeol was staring at me with worried eyes. I smiled at him slightly, knowing when there's a curve formed on my lips, he would feel more relaxed and happy. He sighed in relief and pushed me up so that I was standing straight. 

"You ready?" He asked me. 

"I don't know. I'm scared. What if I-" i was interrupted by Chanyeol. 

"Shhh... Don't think negative." Chanyeol leaned down to me and rested his forehead on mine. "You'll be alright. We will protect you, I promise."

My heart fluttered at his gesture and his words. I thanked him and we stared for awhile before he pulled away from me. I decided to hug him, and even give a little peck on his cheeks to wish him good luck. This made him blush a deep pink. 

I walked away and decided to protect myself with more armor. I slid on a heavy metal thing on both my arms and a shield thingy on my front body. Instead of using a sword, I picked the bow and arrow as I felt that I had more training of the bow. 

In all honesty, I never had war. I never knew how to fight. I never knew how to use a bow and arrow. But after we found the wand, we stalled two days, only two freaking days to train hard. I was a no good in spears and swords, but I was okay in bow and arrow. In the end, I practiced with it more for the next 24 hours. 

We were out of time, so we had to go straight to our fight. We needed this training because apparently, the wizard will not be alone. 

Finally, it was time. Time for us to fight. The soldiers and armies of the planet are fully armed and ready as well. Unfortunately, the population of the soldiers decreased by approximately twenty percent due to the previous days of fighting with the wizard and fairy. But since we have the wand now, we can kill the wizard and figure out the way to way to fight the fairy. 

"Everyone ready?" Kris asked as he held tightly on the wand. 

"Yes!" We all yelled in triumph and made our way out of the camp. 

I was scared. Of course I wasn't ready. In my world, we don't need to fight powerful wizards and fairies. We just have to pray that the armies don't die. I didn't know why I was dragged into fighting. Maybe it leads to gender equality. 

The whole area was filled with the soldiers and armies. They were all holding their weapons to fight. There were a total of thirteen rows, enough for all of us. Kris made me stand with the strongest armies so that they could protect me when they have to. At first I stood at the front of the row, but I chickened out and decided to change places with the man behind me. 

"Let's go!" Kris yelled as he marched forward. 

Judging by this, I believe Kris had been a sergeant or some sort of captain before. Either that or he is just really good in these type of things. 

A trumpet sounded and we all, well almost everyone,     moved with pride and confidence. The only one that was scared was me. I couldn't even walk properly. It had only been two minutes and I tripped over my own foot three time. My row, which is the furthest and at the edge, of course, became the slowest row because of me. In the end, I was pushed to the back of the row to avoid destruction. 

We arrived at the palace. My eyes boggled at the size of the castle. It was huge. No, enormous! I was taken aback as I thought it would look like some fairytale castle. But no. This was amazing. It was extraordinary. It didn't have towers nor a pointed roof. Instead, it is all smooth and made out of metal. Flags with vampire faces were hanging all over the castle. The land around it was pure green. Like fake grass, but I knew it was real. 

Whoever the queen is, I am pretty sure she is the most powerful ruler. 

The rows lined up and we waited for the wizard to come. There weren't any noise for a minute, but when we heard a loud bang, we knew he was here with his army. Loud steps hit the ground as they appeared, and I got scared. 

How big would the wizard be? Or the army? Or the power that they hold? Maybe they are the strongest of the wizards! Maybe they are twice as powerful as we were. I got frightened that I eventually tripped against my foot and fell on the grass with a soft thump.  
As the soldier before me helped me, I could hear the evil laugh of the wizard. I got up and tip-toed to see the wizard. But I couldn't find any. There were a few other wizards, probably... Half of ours? And I couldn't see the leader! What is this? I expected a bigger force, a larger population. How come I was so surprised by the amount?

"So you lousy vampires think you can fight?" The squeaky voice asked and I frowned. 

"We will defeat you guys for good." I heard Kris say. 

"Gosh!" The voice, whom I doubtfully assumed belonged to the wizard, mocked. "For years our clan won against you all. For three years! We come by everytime the king is killed. Now I heard there's a queen instead?" The wizard asked with a funny voice and laughed.    

"What is wrong with a queen instead?" I heard Jongdae yell. 

"Girls aren't strong!" This made me rage. "If the kings couldn't fight, what about the queen?!" He laughed. 

I had enough of this. Call me impatient but I am against gender inequality. I believe that both gender can do the same thing, and one shouldn't be looked down by the other. So girls can fight since guys do it and boys can take many selfies since girls do it! 

I stomped up to the wizard and couldn't help but gasp when I saw him. Old and shaggy. Short and chubby. Snobbish looking and no offence, nasty. I chuckled but covered my mouth and focused back on what I was supposed to do. 

"You ugly hog!" I cried. "Who do you think you are, calling girls weak when you don't even look that great!" 

He stared at me, his eyes wide with a split second of fear, but it turned to anger. He raised his wand at me and chuckled. 

"A girl in the army field? Seriously?" He laughed. "You don't look like you eat anyways."

"Then probably you should eat less." I smirked. "Hog."

That did it. With one swish and a spell, his wand exerted some powerful magic which sent me flying to our soldiers. I landed on the floor, back first, which made me breathless as the wind was knocked out of my windpipe. Someone pulled me up and patted me to see if I was okay. 

"I... Am.... Alright." I panted. 

"Let it begin!" The wizard yelled and both sides began running to each other. 

Suho, the one who helped me up, told me to stay at the back to get some rest. I obeyed and went to sit on the ground painfully. As I rubbed the painful places, a wizard popped up close to me and I panicked. I wanted to scream, but my lungs wouldn't help. Instead, my hands moved automatically and I focused an arrow on the wizard's body. With full power, I shot the arrow to him and he fell with a loud groan. 

I was  surprised myself. I never thought I was that good. I hit squarely on his heart which made him lose his life. Lose his life. 

I killed someone. 

My heart clenched and it was so painful. I forced my tears not to appear. But I killed someone. I killed a life. What have I done? When I first came here I told myself to not kill people. But why did I? I just killed--

"Hyojung! Watch out!" I snapped out of my thoughts and looked up to find a wizard running to me. 

I froze. Should I? Or should I not? Should I just run away instead? Or should I kill him? Or let other people kill him?

"Hyojung!" I turned to the person and realized it was Baekhyun. "Kill him!"

My hands shook as I pulled my bow back with the arrow in the middle. I aimed the arrow at the wizard who was running to me. He was grinning. The arrow left the bow strongly. But I was too late.  The wizard exerted a powerful spell and it hit me on the right shoulder as I tried to dodge it.

"Hyojung!" My shoulder was burned. 

I heard a loud slash and a groan. Hurried footsteps came to me and I looked up with a wince. Baekhyun kneeled beside me, and he looked at my shoulder as I didn't dare to. I could hear him moan softly and I looked up at him. 

"Is it that bad?" I whimpered. 

"It's burnt." Baekhyun's voice wavered. "Why didn't you kill him? Why weren't you alert?" 

"I was scared." My lips shook. "I don't want to kill another being." 

Baekhyun sighed and held my head up with his palms so that I was facing him. 

"Hyojung, you're not killing him." Baekhyun smiled. "You're defending yourself."

Well, that didn't cross my mind. 

"But... Their lives are lost..."

"They volunteered to fight, like you and I did." Baekhyun caressed my cheek. "So they should--"

"Hyojung!" I looked behind Baekhyun and saw Kyungsoo running to us. "Baek! Help us!"

"Okay!" Baekhyun yelled back. "Stay here and protect yourself while I go help them."
I watched as Baekhyun ran to Kyungsoo and shot the trident into the wizard. I cringed and looked down at my burn. It was bad. Seriously bad. And stinging. My skin turned raw and some red parts showed. I held in the pain and slowly rubbed my fingers around the burn. I moaned in pain. This was crazy. 

I ignored the pain and looked up to see the progression. I couldn't help but smile. The wizards were losing, and all twelve  guys are still okay. I got up and slowly made my way to the fight. A wizard noticed my appearance and my burn, so he quickly pointed his wand at me. With quick movements, I shot the arrow right through his stomach, and he gagged and fell to the ground as his life fade away. 

"I'm sorry..." I couldn't help but say that. 

After a second, I could feel the pain searing through my shoulder. I knew I had overworked it, since it was my right shoulder and I trained with my right. I winced loudly in pain and fell to the ground and I had the urge to scratch it. 

"Hyojung!" Yixing came up to me. "You alright?"

"My shoulder..." I cringed and Yixing's palm sat on it. 

Instead of feeling pain, I felt a soothing feeling all around my shoulder. I closed my eyes in relief and sigh as the pain was healed by Yixing's powers. While I was relaxing as the pain goes away, a sudden blow pushed Yixing away and carried me off the ground. I opened my eyes and found the main wizard, all bloodied and weak, holding me up with his wand. I tried to pull myself down by using gravity but to no avail. 

"I see all of you guys taking care of her so well." The wizard laughed. "What's so special about her?"

As he said that, an invisible hand started to clench around my throat. I found it hard to breathe. I thrashed around and asked for help, but no sound came out. He was killing me. 

The wizard was trying to kill me. 

"Leave her alone!" I heard someone cry. 

I felt so faint and dizzy. My body was not working anymore. I tried to conserve my energy by not moving, but it wasn't helping. He was trying to kill me. He was choking me. To death. 

I was close to losing my life when I heard a loud thunder. The wand power of the wizard began to decrease as I could feel air entering my lungs. I was thrown to floor as gravity pulled me. I coughed and breathed hard as I tried to take in all the air I could. Someone came running to me and shook me hard, but I couldn't even focus due to the pain I was feeling. 
 
I tried to look around me but it was hard. My head started spinning and my heartbeat increased. I found Yixing holding on to my shoulder, which I assumed he was trying to heal. I felt so tired and weak even though I barely did anything. In the end, I closed my eyes and floated into the dream world where happy things lasted and existed.

Anyways.... I know this story is getting so lame and boring ahaha I promise I will come up with some fluff alrightt

And also about her grandmother...it's complicated ill try to clear it out soon
