Drunk and Talk

Love Always There

"Hyun, are you really alright?" The Woohyun that's currently in front of Dongwoo looked so upset and lifeless, it didn't seem anything like the bubbly and cheerful Woohyun he has always known, so the man couldn't help but be worried about his friend.

"I'm fine." Woohyun said in reply, trying to give his best smile but Dongwoo knew he wasn't fine.

After the incident that happened at the canteen on Friday, Woohyun finally filled Dongwoo in on what had happened, and the man was just as shocked by what he was told. All along, Dongwoo had thought that Sunggyu was a nice person but he could never think that the man would actually do something this horrible to his friend, and it angered him just like how it angered Woohyun.

"Hyun, you know I'm here with you." Dongwoo said softly as he pulled Woohyun into his embrace, hugging him as close as possible. Woohyun smiled at his friend's small yet sweet gesture, and hugged him back. "I know, and I'm so glad you're here."

--

"Hyung, wake up! We're going to be late for school!" Myungsoo pulled the duvet away, huffing as he saw his lazy brother still deep in dreamland. "Hyung!" He shouted again, receiving a groan from his brother who blindly tried to reach for his duvet. "Hyung, there's school today if you have forgotten."

"I'm not going." Sunggyu groaned, pulling the duvet over his head when he finally found it on the floor. "I'm not feeling well."

Myungsoo rolled his eyes. He honestly hated the Sunggyu in front of him. The Sunggyu he liked and admired was a man that would face his problems bravely and tries to solve it, and not avoid it like this - drinking beers every night till he got drunk and Myungsoo would have to carry him back to bed.

"Hyung, skipping school won't solve the problem. Maybe going to school to try and talk to Woohyun would help."

"Don't talk about Woohyun! It's all your fault!" Sunggyu finally shouted back as he rose to a sitting position, eyes filled with tears of frustration. Then Sunggyu looked down at his duvet, hands moving to his cheeks, trying to wipe his tears away without his brother seeing it. "It's all your fault. I hate you." He muttered. Myungsoo sat on the bed, pulling his brother into a hug that he didn't refuse.

"I'm sorry, hyung. I promise I will fix things right."

--

After spending around ten minutes comforting Sunggyu, the man finally agreed to go to school and even though, they were both late, Myungsoo thought that was actually fine. Because, Sunggyu finally opened up to him, allowing him to see the side of him that he had been trying to hide all this while. And Myungsoo was determined to make things right this time round. Sunggyu and Woohyun were going to get their happy ending.

The first step to a happy ending was having the two to reconcile. So, during lunch, Myungsoo went around the school, hoping to find Woohyun to talk.

It was a safe bet that Woohyun wasn't at the canteen since he saw Dongwoo carrying packed food for two, probably for himself and Woohyun. With this clue, he followed Dongwoo in secret but oh well, it's not like the man would even realize that someone was actually following him since he wasn't the type to notice what's happening around him. As he continued to follow Dongwoo, he found himself standing at the entrance of the rooftop. "This kids. What do they think they are doing when the rooftop is actually out of bounds for all students." Myungsoo shook his head in disapproval before finally entering the rooftop.

"Do you guys actually know that the rooftop is out of bounds for all students." Myungsoo reprimanded as soon as he set foot into the rooftop.  He watched as the two friends froze in their place for a moment before turning around with their heads low. "I'm sorry." The two friends said at the same time, bowing their heads lower.

"It's just me. I'm just warning you guys to be careful." Myungsoo sighed and the two friends quickly looked up in surprise. But the surprised look turned into an angry look with a blink of an eye and the two friends were already packing up their stuffs, ready to leave the rooftop.

"Wait! I'm here to talk." Myungsoo explained his presence as he blocked the entrance of the rooftop with his body.

"There's nothing to talk about, please move aside." Woohyun said, and tried pushing his way through but failed, sadly.

"No, we need to talk. It's about Sunggyu hyung."

Woohyun's face turned darker as the name he disliked so much now spilled from the mouth of Myungsoo, who he disliked too.  "All the more there's nothing to talk about. Please just leave me alone."

"No! I'm going to make things clear. Please. Just listen to me this once."

Woohyun was going to retort something back at the man but he found himself keeping quiet when he saw the pleading look the man was giving him. "Fine."

Myungsoo let out a breath of relief when Woohyun had finally agreed to the idea. "This isn't really the best place to talk at. What about we meet after school?"

The two friends looked at each other, as if they were able to communicate just through their eyes before nodding their heads at the same time.

"That's great. I will text you the address." Myungsoo said with a small smile before he finally started to leave the rooftop. "Oh, and don't get caught!" He warned them before finally exiting the rooftop.

--

As promised, the three met after school at a cafe that was around a ten minutes walk from school. Myungsoo didn't want to meet somewhere too near the school just in case Sunggyu happened to see Myungsoo together with Woohyun and misunderstood his motive.

"Do you guys want to get something to eat? I will treat." Myungsoo asked as he passed two menus to the two friends. "No, it's okay. Just say what you have to say." Woohyun rejected immediately.

"Oh..." Myungsoo looked down at his lap for a moment, thinking of how to start it off. He cleared his throat and got the attention of the two friends. "I'm really sorry for lying to you. I have my reasons to do so..."

"Everything was started by me, and Sunggyu hyung really didn't know that I lied to you about him being my boyfriend until you saw us at the library. It's the truth, please believe in me!" Myungsoo pledged when he saw the look of doubt in the two friends' eyes.

"Why did you lie to Woohyun?" Dongwoo asked, not getting why Myungsoo had to lie.

"It's a personal reason...." Myungsoo mumbled, he wanted to tell Woohyun and Dongwoo the whole truth but he could not, not without the consent of Sunggyu. After all, they were talking about Sunggyu's crush on Woohyun here.

"So we are not going to know the reason today, is it?" Woohyun shot back, throwing a glare at Myungsoo.

"I... Oh my god. How do I go about it?" Myungsoo groaned, his hands messing his hair up in frustration. "I can't tell you guys everything without Sunggyu hyung's permission."

"Fine then tell us what you can." Woohyun gave in, folding his arms over his chest as he stared at Myungsoo, waiting for a satisfied explanation.

"Umm, one of the reasons I lied was actually because... I wanted to help hyung attract the attention of this someone so I lied to you. I mean everyone around us so that words would spread and he would give his attention to hyung. I did it on impulse and without his permission, and hyung scolded me when he found out about everything, so please don't be angry with him..." Myungsoo explained with his head low.

"There are so many ways to attract one's attention, why did you have to lie that you're Sunggyu's boyfriend?" Woohyun frowned.

"Apparently, hyung said that this someone seemed to be interested in me so I thought that maybe if I said we are dating, this someone would lose his interest in me as well."

Dongwoo who was listening quietly by the side was thinking a lot, hoping to piece the puzzle together. And he kind of had an idea what was going on and a smile almost made it onto his face at the realization. While on the other hand, Woohyun who had heard the explanation was slightly confused with everything and didn't think much into it.

Seeing that there was no response from the two friends, Myungsoo decided to continue. "Please don't be mad at Sunggyu hyung. Everything is my fault, please only be mad at me. And... Please don't hate hyung. It was really a blow to him when you told him that you hated him. He started to drown himself in beers ever since that day you told him you hate him, and I really hate to see him like this." Myungsoo sighed, and his hand went to hold onto Woohyun's, which shocked the man. "Please hate me if you have to."

"I-I wasn't serious about it. I was just mad at the two of you." Woohyun explained softly as he pulled his hand back in embarrassment. "I don't hate Sunggyu hyung."

"That's great." Myungsoo smiled, "Can I trouble you to tell him that? He probably wouldn't believe me if I told him about it."

"Umm... I guess that's fine." Woohyun shrugged.

"Thank you so much, Woohyun, and Dongwoo." Myungsoo smiled. "I'm so glad you guys listened to me."

The two friends smiled back in reply and the three immediately fell into an awkward silence. And Myungsoo felt the need to start another conversation. "Oh and sorry for what happened at the cafe with Sungyeol the other time too. That was an act as well."

"So you don't really like Sungyeol?" Dongwoo asked in surprise.

"No, other than that, everything was a lie. I actually like that kid a lot." Myungsoo confessed shyly, rubbing his neck in embarrassment.

"We are good now, are we?" Myungsoo asked, as he stuck both of his hands out for the two friends to shake it and they did with a smile.

--

"Hyun." Dongwoo called out, with a big grin on his face.

Woohyun hummed in reply.

"Did you figure it all out already?"

"What?" Woohyun asked, clueless as to what Dongwoo was talking about.

"What Myungsoo hyung said! Don't you get it? It was you!" Dongwoo groaned, unable to believe how stupid Woohyun could be.

Dongwoo might be kinda stupid as well but he could be really clever and fast to catch on things like this. Yes, things related to relationship. Especially the relationship of Sunggyu and Woohyun.

"Huh?" Woohyun let out.

"Oh my god. Sunggyu likes you, idiot."

Woohyun stared at his friend in disbelief before laughing. "Woo, didn't you hear Myungsoo hyung? Sunggyu has someone he likes." And he started to laugh again.

"You're the stupid one. You're the one Myungsoo hyung was talking about." Dongwoo rolled his eyes.

Hearing Dongwoo's words, Woohyun's laughter died down and he was now looking very serious at his friend. "Are you being serious right now?"

"Yea. I mean look, it's so obvious he has a thing for you. During the camp, he gave excuse after excuse just so you would feed him. Why did he have to do that when he can actually feed himself? And when Myungsoo tried to feed him, he slapped his hand away."

"He just like to tease me." Woohyun groaned, not wanting to believe what he had just heard. No, Sunggyu hyung didn't like him. Not at all. Not after what he said back in middle school. Woohyun convinced himself.

"You out of everyone? Woohyun, you know he does likes you."

"No! He don't!" Woohyun shouted, as he turned to his friend with flaring nostrils, and eyes that could kill.

"Hyun, why are you so angry?" Dongwoo asked quietly. Woohyun has never been this angry in front of him before and it scares him.

"I'm sorry, Woo." It seemed like Woohyun realized that Dongwoo was scared by his reaction and he calmed himself down before pulling his friend into a hug. "I'm sorry."

--

For the next few days, things seemed to be going well though Woohyun and Sunggyu have yet to make up yet but at least, Sunggyu was going to school and Myungsoo believed that everything would be fine soon.

"Hyung, want to have lunch together?"

"Nah, I'm going to the library." Sunggyu said, before swinging his bag over his shoulder and walked off without bidding his brother goodbye.

Myungsoo sighed, he could understand why his brother was behaving like this and he could not complain because he was to blame for the kind of behavior he got.

On the other hand, Woohyun has been trying to spot Sunggyu around school but he never saw the man around and he decided to try the library today. Much to his delight, Sunggyu was sitting at one of the tables with his books opened but the man seemed to be spacing out instead of studying. Taking a deep breath, Woohyun boldly made his way to Sunggyu's table and took a seat opposite of Sunggyu.

Sunggyu's eyes widened in surprise, surprised to see the person he least expected to see. Seeing Woohyun, Sunggyu remembered that day when Woohyun had told him that he hated him and he started to pack his bag quickly.

Woohyun who was confused by the action, tried to stop him. "Hyung, where are you going?" But Sunggyu kept quiet and pulled his hand back before he quickly ran out of the library, confusing Woohyun further.

--

"Hyung, you're back!" Myungsoo sighed in relief, seeing his brother still sane and not drunk was a rare sight nowadays, truthfully.

"Myungsoo..." Sunggyu said, pulling his brother into his arms before sighing. "Woohyun came to me today."

Myungsoo smiled, thinking that things between the two had been resolved. "Did you guys make up?" He asked, though he knew the obvious but was proved otherwise when his brother shook his head. "I ran away."

"Why?" Myungsoo frowned, pulling Sunggyu away just enough to look at him.

"I was scared, Myungsoo." Sunggyu confessed, hanging his head low. "After everything that happened and what he said, I couldn't face him."

"What if he wanted to make up with you?"

"No way." Sunggyu shook his head with a sad smile on his face, and Myungsoo's heart hurt to see him like this. So sad and hopeless. "He hates me now."

"He don't. Hyung, believe me. Woohyun don't hate you." Myungsoo tried to assure his brother, giving his hand a squeeze but it was fatal. Sunggyu only shook his head in reply while tears stained his cheeks. And Myungsoo's heart hurt even more to see his brother cry like this. "Everything will be fine. Trust me, hyung." Myungsoo whispered, pulling his brother into an embrace once again.

--

Despite Woohyun's various tries to talk to Sunggyu, he always failed. He either could not find the man or the man would run away before he could even speak. And every time Sunggyu ran away, it leave Woohyun more confused than the last time.

"Why does he keep running away from me?!" Woohyun groaned in between lunch without knowing, messing his hair up in process while his three friends stared at him confused.

"Are you okay, Hyun?" Dongwoo asked, putting a hand on his arm.

"Huh?"

"You just went 'Why does he keep running away from me?!' moments ago." Sungyeol explained, imitating what Woohyun had just done, and Dongwoo couldn't help but laugh at the imitation.

"Oh... I'm okay. I was just thinking about some stuffs." Woohyun said quietly out of embarrassment, and started to stuff his mouth with dumplings.

"You can talk to us if you want." Hoya spoke up, and Woohyun immediately choked at his words. "It's okay. It isn't that important anyway." He laughed, a very awkward laughter, hoping for the topic to be forgotten.

"Fine with me." Hoya shrugged, and was about to go back to eating but he notice that Dongwoo was staring at Woohyun worryingly, and he instinctively put a hand over Dongwoo's under the table, which gave him a smile from the man. "Don't worry too much." He mouthed and Dongwoo nodded in reply.

Woohyun though, continued to stuff his mouth with dumplings while the same question went through his mind all the time. I'm going to talk to him today! Woohyun nodded his head in determination while he fisted his hands to further emphasize his determination.

"Are you really okay?" Sungyeol asked after watching Woohyun's actions quietly by the side.

And Woohyun choked on his dumplings for the second time that day. "Yea I'm fine."

--

However, despite having looked through all the corners of the school, Sunggyu was still nowhere to be seen and Woohyun could only go back home in disappointment, silently praying that he would catch Sunggyu on Monday.

"I'm home." Woohyun announced, tiredly making his way to the couch and immediately flopped down onto it. His soccer practice had lasted till the late night, probably around 9 and practice was tough with everything that was currently going on.

When Woohyun's mother didn't come to give him a hug just like she always did when he came home, Woohyun sat up, looking around the house for his mother. "Umma?"

No reply. Woohyun guessed that his mum probably went to the mart nearby their house. She always did that anyway. With that, Woohyun dragged himself to his bedroom and soon, to take a bath.

When he was done washing up for the day, he heard movements in he kitchen and quickly went to the kitchen. "Umma!" He said happily, pulling his mum into a hug.

"Have you eaten? Do you want umma to make you something?"

Woohyun shook his head with a smile. This is truly home, he thought. Nothing beats coming back home to a warm embrace from his mum.

"Woohyun ah, do you know if something has happened to Sunggyu?" Woohyun's mother asked as she pulled away to look his son. At the mention of Sunggyu, Woohyun sighed. "Why do you ask?"

"He seems drunk when I saw him outside the convenience store, and when I tried to approach him, he quickly ran away."

Woohyun began to get worried as he listened to his mum's words. "I don't really know what happened. I will go out for a while. Umma, go to bed soon, okay?" He gave her a kiss on the forehead and quickly ran out of the house.

--

Woohyun sighed. There he was. All drunk and wasted, sleeping at the table just outside of the convenience store. He quickly made his way over to the table, taking a seat opposite of Sunggyu and observed the man quietly.

"Woohyun, I'm sorry..." He heard the man mumbled.

"Hyung..."

Sunggyu looked up and his eyes started to fill with tears. "Why am I dreaming of you again." And the tears rolled down his cheeks.

"Hyung, this isn't a dream."

"You liar! Woohyun doesn't want to see me anymore." He shouted at Woohyun as more tears rolled down his cheeks. "He said he hates me." He cried, putting his forehead against the table to hide his tears.

"Hyung..." Woohyun did not know that the words he said in a moment of anger would be taken so seriously by Sunggyu, and to affect him this badly.

"I don't hate you, hyung." Woohyun said loud and clear, his hand moving to caress the man's head.

"If only Woohyun would tell me that." Sunggyu said before he finally fell asleep.

Chapter 17: Thanks for the update. Wonder how long would it take for them to finally confess to each other. I mean it will probably clear out most of the misunderstandings. If they will at least come clean as to who like who and if its mutual. Gyu seems to be so confident in the beginning so i wonder why the shift into somewhat shy and being a cry baby. Hoping for their relationship to develop into something more. Kudos.
