Vibrant Colours. ☁
❝ Donghae came from an orphanage, he had no parents, no best friends, but he had a lot of pride.
Everything he owned, he'd earned it with his own hands.
Since he'd reached legal age, he worked multiple odd jobs to support his own school fees and living expenses, finally earning himself a prestigious all-expenses paid scholarship at the Seoul National University.
However, he had a secret.
Beneath his all-so-glamourous exterior, he had an incurable disease- he was colour blind.
Because of that, Donghae was deprived of the most wonderful aspect of being a human, which was to be able to see the vibrant colours of the world.
Donghae's life was dull and bleak- to put it in simpler terms, his life was completely black and white.
And that was not only because he was colour blind, Donghae blamed it on his lack of ability to trust people.
Donghae lost his ability to trust ever since that summer fifteen years ago, when a boy named Eunhyuk, broke the promise they made together when they were only two innocent five-year olds. ❞
Excerpt:
"Why are you crying?" The angel spoke.
The boy blinked his wet eyes, lips trembling, "...b-because they called me a liar."
"Don't cry anymore." The angel hushed, leaning forward to kiss away the newest tear that fell on the boy's cheek. "My umma always does this whenever I cry, she says it will make my pain go away." Then he stood up and held out a hand to the boy, "Let me help you make your pain go away. Trust me."
The boy looked up at the angel smiling so sweetly at him with his outstretched hand, without hesitation, the boy slipped his own hand into the waiting hand that was fair and soft, in contrast to his rough and dirty ones.
