Okay so I saw this post and I thought why not do it (even though my AFF journey is a pretty short one)

I honestly don't remember how I got into AFF actually. It seemed like I made an account because I was writing a story that I wanted to share. Back when I wrote my first AFF story (it was horrible haha) I didn't have a single clue about how AFF worked. Like, what's a vote? What does subscribing do? How do you reply a comment? How do you insert a poster? What's a layout? Huh? HUH???

I wrote my first story because of a very inspiring EXO story I read on AFF (good lord what's the name of it now?!) and I didn't expect anyone to read it. I mean, I did mention I didn't have a clue about the workings of AFF so I just posted it for fun, for my own entertainment (like, ooh my story is on AFF how cool is that! Lol)

 But I started getting subscribers (what on earth are they?) and votes (even more confused??) and comments-- I absolutely adore comments and they are the one thing that motivates me (And anyone too i expect). You know, there can be a story with 1K subscribers but less than 10 comments per chapter, and that's very very sad. I know there are people who subscribe because they like a story but they just can't keep up with the updates (RL is a sometimes) but surely not everyone is like that? Do keep the comments going, readers, everyone loves comments.

Honestly, I can wail over a story and its progress, but I just get a "Author fighting! Your story is great! I can't wait for xxx to accept yyy and hopefully zzz will...-" You get my idea. And that totally brightens up my day and encourages me to continue writing, no matter how screwed up I feel. Now I have almost 1K unique subs and many stories that I literally slept with and woke up to at some point of time, and so many friends and readers and inspiring sunbaes that I look up to :D

Now I know almost all the workings of AFF (believe me, I don't know everything yet haha) and I must say that AFF is a brilliant website. Not only is it a place to unleash your creative juices and earn recognition for your writing/designing skills, you also make valuable friends with common interests (*wheezes* spazzing over kpop is so mentally draining at times), and get to read the most amazing stories of all time that are FREE, READILY AVAILABLE and OF YOUR BIAS. Not to forget the gorgeous posters and layouts too :)

But what I love best about AFF is the way it develops you as a person, as a reader and a writer/designer. Two years down the road, pick up your first fanfic (not literally) and read it. Then compare it with your fanfic now. Look at your first poster, and look at your posters now. Look at the number of conversations you had in the past, and the number you have now. The number of friends you've made. The number of stories you've subscribed/ labelled as "PERFECTION"/ bookmarked. The number of readers who subscribed to your stories, or to YOU as an author. You don't just develop yourself in AFF, you grow alongside with it.

From a tiny website 5 years ago, to the top asian fanfiction website in the Internet, AFF has grown so much. Now it has over 600K members and over 690K stories, with so many awesome stories that there has to be a new one featured everyday, and now even a mobile app in the works. (Guys do support them for the fundraising! even if its abit, it still helps ^^) I wished I had joined earlier and be part of this wonderful family sooner than I did. :)

I'm so glad to have joined the AFF community (even though I'm number 527985... Better late than never right?) and I'm so grateful to all my friends and readers here :) Thank you for talking to me and commenting on my stories and sticking with me even though I update like a snail. (Real life.... Exams... >.<) I love you guys so much and I would never have gone this far (not like its been very far anyway OTL) without all of you :D silent readers, I thank you too for giving my fics a chance. Do talk to me more because I like talking to people and discovering more writers and awesome stories ^^

(What is this, an essay? I got carried away mehh) 
Anyway, congratulations to AFF reaching its 5year anniversary!!
