Leaving
His name is LeoI was the first one to kill the tension. We have things to do, and it’s better done quickly. I leaned to him expecting that he would avoid me in the tense situation, but he didn’t. He stayed still and he even let me held one of his hands, staining my own hands with blood. I muttered, “Leo, we have to get out of here quickly.”
“I know.”
“Will you come with me?”
He hesitantly reached over to the top of my head with his free hand, before whispering: “Will I ever not come with you, Aileen?”
I smiled contentedly to the truth in his words. Innocent and honest. That is Leo whom I know.
“You have a lot of explaining to do.... Leo.” I mumbled, uncertain if this is Leo or the person whom I saw late at night that one time, with red eyes and raspy voice.
He sighed lowly and nodded his head.
“I know...”
I stood up slowly as I let go of his hand, eager to start my preparation to leave.
“Aileen?”
I heard him call my name- so softly, so hesitant.
“I don’t know my name... but you can call me Leo if you like.”
