As predicted, my mom took charge of Seunghyun’s kitchen for the following week-not that he minded at all, and my brother took charge of his several gaming platforms-Seunghyun also didn’t mind that at all. 
     I spent my time curled up on his couch watching him battle Sean in various games from Call of Duty to Halo to whatever it is that guys play on those systems while my mom cooked twenty-four/seven. If she wasn’t cooking breakfast, lunch, or dinner she was baking bread or creating some sort of dessert. She was in heaven as she had her chance to cook in what seemed to be a professional made-for-television kitchen with it’s stainless steal refrigerators and ovens of the future. 
     I never lacked a plate of some sort of food in front of me and neither did Seunghyun. Looking up from the TV, pausing the game (earning a ‘Come on man, what the hell?’ from Sean every single time), that smile that I fell in love with before I had even met him appeared on his face every time she would hand him a dish of some sort of new snack. He would accept it graciously, dropping the controller to take the plate with both hands and recognize her kind thoughts with a bow of his head. She would rest her hand on his shoulder and smile back at him and the connection they have was indisputably there. She has gained a new son.
     Although there was the ever present language barrier between them, Seunghyun’s mother couldn’t seem to leave my mother alone and for the first time ever my mom seemed to take an interest in korean cooking. She taught his mom how to make American dishes like Lasagna and his mom taught mine how to make kimbap (which she ate and enjoyed even though she never would touch it when I would make it at home). I think my mom has found a new friend. 
     Seunghyun had been granted all of this time off of work by his company. The public found out about us (which wasn’t a problem shockingly enough), and not long afterwards we were into the news again because of my near death experience. People could understand Seunghyun needing a break from the public eye and even if they didn’t, it was a well deserved vacation. We’ve been spending this time together without any thoughts of anything else. They expect him back tomorrow though.
     Eventually, the rest of the group all found a time that they all could come to the house together and unanimously agreed that it was time to get to know this girl Seunghyun keeps trying to throw away his career for.
     “On a scale of one to ten, you are a…” Seungri whispers, “hana, duel, set… eleven!” he shouts across the room at me with his harsh accent. It’s not for show. His English really is as fantastically entertaining as we all have seen. “Good choice hyung makes. Yes! Very good!” He sits on one of the couches, leaning causally into the soft piece of furniture, his leg tossed over the other in a very alpha male-esce style. His arms are crossed over his chest and his bottom lip is jutted out in approval as he nods his head.
