Lee Yerin Backstory

My Vampire Story

"Omma, Appa, look what I made at school today" I say proudly, showing off the picture I drew in art class. "That look amazing Yerin! Omma and Appa are proud of you" My two loving parents say in unison. A wide smile crosses my face, causing my eyes to fall into two crescent moons. "Should we eat some of mummy's yummy cooking?" Appa says. "Really? Yaay!" I cheer jumping up and down. "My beautiful daughter is growing up fast" Appa says as we sit down. "I am 5" I say holding up 5 fingers. "Yes you are sweety. Tell me about your day"

"Dinner is ready" Omma calls out as she brings the side dishes to the table. Appa goes off and bring a huge steaming pot of warm kimchi soup. I fill my parent's bowls generously with soup as they set down the rest of the side dishes. "I will eat well" I say before digging in. The warm soup instantly warms my tummy and my whole body. "Beautiful as always love" Appa says while tucking a piece of Omma's dark black hair behind her ear. I smile at the sweet scene taking place in front of me. I look outside the winder and the rain is pouring down, wind knocking against the windows. I shiver at the cold weather but quickly forget about it as I continue to eat.

Suddenly the lights flick off and the background noise from the television is no longer heard. All that can be heard is our breathing and the wind and rain from outside. "Omma..Appa..?" I say with a small voice. Omma's warm arms wrap around me. "It's okay my darling. Appa is getting some candles and a torch."

Appa soon returns holding a bright torch and I sigh in relief. I hate the dark it scares me. I look closely at Appa's facial expression and it is the complete oppisite of relief. "Get Yerin out of here. Now" He says with a serious tone. "Are you crazy? Why would we go outside in the cold?" Omma says letting go of me and standing up. "Get out now. Go far away from here. There's someone in the house and I think it's them." Appa says. I look at Omma and she looks calm and relaxed. "Why would it be them? We had a deal. We stay here and never return back there. If it's them then I am staying to fight" She says. "Leave now while you still have a chance to live." Appa says. "We have a chance of living if we both fight. If we run, they are going to find us eventually." She says. "It wont be easy." He says. She smiles and nods. "I know"

"Omma, what is going on?" I ask. She walks towards me and picks me up in her arms. "Nothing is going on Yerin. Mummy loves you very much" She places me behind the couch that rests against the wall. "Stay here and don't move. If by chance, something happens to Omma and Appa, you need to be strong" She says with a warm smile. She pats my head lovingly and hugs me. "I love you my precious Lee Yerin" She says before walking away

After sitting for a few minutes I peek around the couch and see my parents standing together. I hear loud footsteps coming from the other side of the house. "Well, look who we have here" A loud man's voice says. "Get our house before we call the police" Omma threatens. "Or worse" Appa says in a cold voice. "Do you come from the vampire world?" Appa says. "We do." Another unfarmilliar voice says. "But we weren't sent by the kingdom. We came here on our own." I look as one men approachs my parents. "Then why are you here? What do you want?" Appa asks. "What we want is your wife and child. Their lifes." The man says in a chilling voice. "Over my dead body" Appa says before heading towards the man. I hear a loud scream and I quickly close my eyes.

"I hope you rot in hell vampires." Mummy screams loudly. I open my eyes and watch as the man grabs her hair and pushes her to the ground. She is about to stand up when a loud noise silences the whole house. I watch in horror as my mother falls to the ground. Her screams are no longer heard.

The man walks to where I am. "What is your name?" He asks me. I am too scared to talk or move. "Lee Yerin? Right? Pretty name for a pretty girl." He grabs my arm harshly and pushes my in front of my parents bodies lying on the ground in a pool of red liquid. "Omma... A-appa.." I say in barley a whisper. I can't breathe properly. It's just a dream. I pinch the skin on my arm. It's not a dream. This is reality. I reach my hand out to touch my mothers pale skin. I hear the laughs of the men. I gaze upon my father's eyes which are soulless. I then feel a horrible pain at the back of my head. I turn around to see the man holding a baseball bat in his hands proudly. I can't see the man's face as my vision becomes blurry and due to the lack of light in the room. The world around me starts to disappear from my sight. Everything is fading around me until I can't see or think anymore.
