Chapter 39
The SM heiress
Yena lay on her bed in her private ward, eyes shut due to the drowsiness. Jongin had just gone out to grab some food, leaving Yena alone in her big ward.
Her ears perked up when she heard the door slid open.
“Jongin?” Yena called out without opening her eyes.
No response. Silence.
“Jongi—“ She halted when she heard a voice that was too familiar.
“Jongin isn’t here”
Yena pried her eyes open and stared at the figure standing by the door. A black cap covered half of her face, but it was not hard to figure out who she was, especially after almost being killed by the latter. She was clad in black winter jacket, ripped denim jeans and old, red Nike shoes.
Yena shifted back uncomfortably as she made her way nearer.
“I almost had it all…” Sunhwa whispered, her voice husky. She walked towards Yena’s bed. “It’s all your fault that I lost everything”
Yena swallowed hard. What is that witch going to do?
“YOU DESEREVE TO DIE!!!” Sunhwa shrieked as she grabbed Yena’s throat. Yena gasped and glanced up into Sunhwa’s face, which was now visible. Her eyes were bloodshot and eye bags were visible.
“DIE !” Yena was shoved down her bed. She winced as pain ripped through her abdomen as crimson blood stained her hospital gown.
Sunhwa wanted to lung for her, but was thrown back by Chanyeol with force.
“Na…na…oh my god. Don’t close--” Jongin held her in his arms, as if a vulnerable child.
But she could no longer hear him. Pain flooded her senses and drowned her body. Unconsciousness tugged at her and she slowly sank away. Again.
Yena POV
I wasn’t dead. I remembered this all too familiar feeling from two days ago. And the searing aches and pain that seemed to seep into every muscle and nerves assured me that.
This is all too familiar. The pain, aches, everything.
