Zico’s POV

As I started the first verse together with Kyung, the flow of the music just rushed over me.

We already had everyone’s attention and they danced around us in a circle while cheering. Still keeping an eye on Eun Bit, I took a step back to let the others preform their part. I had to wait for the right opportunity.    

The beat gets louder, the drum gets faster

The sparkling mirror ball in the flashing light

The girl dancing on a noisy stage

As I joined in on the backup singing, I tried to figure out a way to get those drunks attention. I couldn’t go to the front and act all high and mighty; because the guys would think that I was stealing their spotlight. I had to figure something out which wouldn’t gain unwanted attention.

One man touched her cheek and I grabbed the microphone so hard my knuckles turned white. I stepped to the front with Kyung and decided to rap the hell out of this place!

My eyes were on Kyung and then I turned them towards Eun Bit with Kyung following my movement. I saw the moment he realized the pinch Eun Bit was in and looking back at me I saw the knowing gleam in his eye which meant he had a plan. The moment he took a step in her direction it was on.

Hey lady, where are you going?

Kyung reached around the two guys and pulled Eun Bit back towards us. At first she looked freighted by getting everyone’s attention, but then she put on a small smile as if she knew.

Right now I can’t talk myself out of anything

I’ve been infected with your lethal charms

U-Kwon stepped forward and took her from Kyung by the hand.

As Eun Bit heard me sing along with U-Kwon, her eyes fell on me but they held nothing but kindness.

The words hit straight home and for the first time I felt like I understood what these words was really all about. I was far from the same me too.

Eun Bit’s POV

I was not myself tonight. First of all I felt out of place in this club atmosphere, but then I had to stumble upon those guys which probably doomed me to never want to visit a club ever again. I knew what the guys were doing the moment Kyung winked at me. No doubt about Zico being the observer of my little encounter and for once I was overly happy about him always being considering of me.

No doubt the guys were killing the song and with good reason. I briefly spotted Eun Soo and Yeon Woo on the sideline, watching me and looking jealous as hell, but still with a smile on their lips. I focused on Zico once again and I knew that he had never lost focus on me.

One minute he stood a few feet away and in the next second he was right in front of me. Gazing up at Zico, I could get lost in his beautiful brown eyes. They always left me speechless, but then again I knew it wasn’t my turn to speak as Zico plunged into his full out part of the song. He took my hand and pulled me flushed against him. It felt like the only thing separating us was his microphone.

Give me a chance, follow me now

Are you afraid I’m a bad guy?

His hand went to me cheek and with two fingers he lightly cherished me and I felt like melding into a poodle right there in front of everyone. For one second I looked at the people around us, but almost as quickly Zico was there, guiding my attention back on him.   

Don’t mind people and react,

Show me a smile and stop right there!

Zico got in my face and the last line was said with us standing centimeters from each other, breathing each other’s air. I still couldn’t help but give him a small smile despite my idea of staying feelings-neutral in his presence. When Zico smiled back at me the rest of the song just faded away and there was only us.

Zico still managed to finish his part without breaking eye contact and as the song ended; the crowd broke out in ear deafening cheers.

I leaned into Zico’s hand and enjoyed the warmth of it. I felt him take a deep breath and silently prepared for his final declaring. After everything I had said, it must have finally become clear to him that we were never going to work. This song was our goodbye… I closed my eyes…   

“We burn so brightly I can’t look away. It feels so warm, lively and like nothing I’ve never felt before. Trust me when I say that I will never let this light go out.”

My eyes sprung open and now, with new tears in my eyes, I looked at him. Zico….this man…my everything…

And despite everyone around us and the other members, he leaned in and brushed his lips across mine.

“It’s only you Eun Bit. It will always only be you.”   

I barely heard the sound of a camera flash.
