Chapter 22 (Ch. 23 is technically Ch. 21)
Lost SoulWent back and reread my story and got an idea for the next chapter. Enjoy! I also hope my writing has improved over the years :P
“Can we talk?” Sunmi asked Dawook about a week later,, pulling him to the side as he gave her a confused look.
“That’s never a good start to a conversation, Sunmi.”
“It’s nothing bad but it is a bit serious.” Dawook waited for her to continue but now she felt like chickening out. “Okay, well…about more intimate things.”
“Like the thing from last week? About ?” He asked lowering his voice a bit. It felt like a dirty secret even though they were in a hallway full of adults.
“Yeah, exactly. Have you ever…are you a ?”
“I’m not.” Dawook answered quickly and waited for what she was going to say next. Now she felt embarrassed admitting that she was. “You don’t have to feel obligated to do anything. I like you for you. I only care about your comfort.”
“And if I told you I thought about it?” She had, before even getting involved with him. It just never had a strong pull, until these days anyway.
“It pains me to say it but I would probably also tell you to talk to your brothers or one of the singers from SNSD who reached out to you.” Dawook must’ve seen the pained look on her face. “Just for safety purposes.” He paused. “Well maybe not your brothers.”
Sunmi laughed, a real laugh that had her bending over and other students taking glances at what was going on. “What-what did I say?”
“The most idiotic thing. I don’t know how I’ll tell them but they’ll find out eventually. I feel like it’s one of the things I should be pretty upfront about. Rip the bandaid off, so to speak. If I start having ,” she blushed, “with you and they find out later? We’re both dead.”
“You make a good point.” Dawook pushed his girlfriend slightly, “But let’s cross that bridge another time. Let’s go get some lunch, huh?”
Dawook had made it very clear he wanted Sunmi to give the whole ordeal some more thought. Maybe weeks/months so he could physically and mentally prepare himself for dealing with her brothers if they ever decided to be more intimate. Sunmi, on the other hand, was a very impatient person. On top of feeling like she was keeping a secret from the men of the house, she decided to at least partially start the conversation with them that night over dinner.
That evening, Sunmi took extra care to order everyone’s favorite food.
“What’s the special occasion?” Kyuhyun asked suspiciously as he grabbed a french fry from the dish she last placed.
Swatting his hand away, she ignored his question, instead calling everyone to dinner.
The men were joking and having a good time. After having a fairly successful comeback, they were all able to relax and enjoy themselves just a bit. That made Sunmi more nervous that she was about to rain all over their parade.
“So guys” It came out as a whisper, and the 19 year old cleared . “Guys.” All eyes on her. “I’m glad we’re all able to be together like this.”
