18: Deceived

Everything was falling at the right place. Standing by the door frame, Ara intently watched Chanyeol sleep angelically on her mother’s bed. She smiled at his sleeping figure finding it very relaxed and silent.
She bit her lip as she recalled that moment they had outside.
After kissing her, he confessed, “I like you Ara.”
It took her almost a minute before she responded with an action. She intertwined her fingers with his, smiling as she faced him then turned her sight onto the door, before pulling him in. “You better get some rest.”
Although that was not the response he was looking forward to, he still found it satisfying that she warmly let him enter her home. It was a somewhat shy attempt of Ara of saying I like you back. It was not in her nature to act all sweet or mushy to a guy. That kind of action was still foreign to her.
The door was not completely open. In fact, it was only a few inches open - good enough for her to peek inside. Carefully opening the door, wishing she wouldn’t wake him, she made soft steps until she reached his side. She was naturally a caring type of person when it comes to people she values.
She pulled the blanket until it covered his shoulders and his hair gently. The feeling of his hair brushing through her hands was quite a marvellous feeling. Her hand soon lowered to caress his cheek. It was soft and smooth, similar to a baby’s. She wished she could do it more often but she knew she could only do it when he’s asleep. That’s the difficulty of a shy person.
As her hand continually his face gently, she bended until her face was a feet away from his; her hair let down and covered the sides of her face. She tucked the loose hair behind her ear and whispered, “You know what? I like you too.”
She grinned and was about to stand when she suddenly felt his hand grabbed her hand that was caressing his face. His eyes popped open and they stared at hers. Embarrassed she tried to pull her hand away but he wouldn’t let go. In the end, she only blinked and avoided his gaze.
He smiled and rose to sit on the bed without letting go of her hand. With a goofy grin he asked, “Does that mean I’m your boy friend now?”
“Aw!” Chanyeol rubbed his forehead as soon as Ara flicked it. “That hurts.” He pouted.
Ara was already near the door, ready to leave the room. But before doing so, she paused. Without turning her back to face him, she spoke, “you haven’t even asked me yet.” She looked at him and smiled, then left the area.
Chanyeol shook his head smiling. He stared at the empty space and spoke as if Ara could hear him. “I’ll ask you then…but not today.”

Busy working on his paper, Chanyeol was interrupted by a voice who called his name. And by instincts, he turned to look at the person. It was Suho.
He flashed his signature eye smile and sat across Chanyeol’s table inside the cafeteria.
“Hey how’s it going?”
“Just fine. Doing some paperwork. I see you’re not busy today.”
“Yup. I’m on my break to be honest. I hope I’m not disturbing you.”
“Oh no no. I’m actually almost finished with this.”
“It’s been a long time since I’ve hung out with my friend.”
“Yeah. You are always busy and don’t hang out with me anymore.” he pouted.
“Hey hey” Suho poked Chanyeol’s forehead twice. “Stop the drama. I’m pretty sure you’
