Day 5

No way! I am straight...right?

Yoseob breathed in deeply, stretching from side to side and bouncing on his heels lightly.

It was the last day of the camp, which meant that it was also the day of the dance competition, the one he and the guys had practiced so much for. Yoseob couldn't help but feel nervous as he looked at the mini stage that was being set up in front of the pension.

 Yes, a stage.

Doojoon had specially called a few workers to drive all the way up the mountain to build that tiny stage. It had a wooden, polished platform and a screen built up vertically at the back. A shade hung over the stage in case any light snow attempted to fall and make the stage slippery for the dancers.

Thankfully, that hadn't been the case so far. The ground was dusted with some snow and the temperature was quite low, but other than that, ever since the water game the day before, it hadn't quite snowed yet.

Yoseob and the rest of the guys were in the practice room, twenty minutes before the start of the actual competition. They were brushing up on the moves, but so far everything was going well, like the weather.

They finished up the moves, and Junhyung turned around to face them, smiling.

"That was great! So you guys ready?"

Hyunseung nodded enthusiastically, and so did Yoseob and Dongwoon. Dongwoon yawned slightly.

"Thank god it's the last day...I don't think I can handle another 5km jog...my legs are dying," Dongwoon breathed lazily.

They walked out onto the grassy field in front of the pension, shivering slightly at the low temperature. There were chairs out in front of the stage as well, for the subaes to seat in later on. Key was lazing in front of the judges panel, placing both his foot on the table. That is, until Minzy came slapped his legs off.

"Yah, stop slacking! You have to go write up the judging criteria with me," Minzy said, glaring at Key. Key rolled his eyes, uncaring.

"Aw come on, we sort of know who's going to win, I mean, MBLAQ's had a lotof marks deducted for teamwork..."

They continued walking, and they passed by MBLAQ, who were whispering furiously to each other.

"How can he bail out on us now? We even took the time to explain the moves to him yesterday!" Cheondung wailed.

"It's ok, I mean, we made the choreography fit for four members in the first place..." G.O said, though he was obviously displeased.

"Is everything ok, sunbae?" Junhyung asked cautiously, walking towards them. Over the days of the camp, the eight people were able to bond together, and it was obvious that none of the other members' attitudes were like Lee Joon's. They were fun and outgoing, and they were able to click with one another throughout the camp.

"Lee Joon disappeared this morning, we thought he would come back before the competition started, but he didn't," Seungho stressed. His dark eye circles seemed darker than ever before.

"Why must he keep doing this to us? And we cared so much about him too..." Mir whimpered. Yoseob could have sworn he almost saw tears in the maknae's eyes.

"Maybe he just went for a stroll?" Dongwoon suggested. Junhyung rolled his eyes and stamped on his foot, make him yell in pain.

 "What?!"

G.O smiled weakly. "Thanks guys, but that's not really possible. It's okay though, we are quite used to this..."

Yoseob kept quiet throughout. He had an idea of where Lee Joon might be, but something told him not to go. The glare Lee Joon gave him the day before made Yoseob more cautious of him than before. Somehow or rather, he knew hewas the one who made Lee Joon angry, but the options to why he was acting like that was highly impossible.

He couldn't have acted like that unless he was...jealous? Nah, impossible.

He was shaken out of his thoughts when Jiyong came over to greet them. He seemed even more weary than ever, as if something was on his mind.

"The competition is going to start in two minutes, and MBLAQ is up first. Good luck guys," he smiled at them. Yoseob felt as though his smile didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Good luck," Yoseob said, smiling at MBLAQ. They nodded their thanks and walked over onto the stage.

"Ok, welcome everyone to the last day of camp, finally, and as you all know, we have organized a mini competition for our new trainees. Now, let's present our newly debuted group, MBLAQ!!"

Yoseob recognised Teddy's voice through the microphone. He sounded really happy, probably because it was the last day of camp.

He peeked at the assembling area. The sunbaes were already seated in the chairs, shouting their support for MBLAQ who were performing on stage. He puffed his cheeks out as he saw Doojoon seated at the judges panel, his stern poker face on, the same one he had seen during his audition into Cube.

"Ah ah oo ah oo ah phooo~"

The final verse of the song played, and now it was their turn.

Yoseob walked up on stage awkwardly, his heart nearly pumping out of his ribcage. He felt frozen as he saw the audience look up at him. He made eye contact with Doojoon, and Doojoon smiled and gave an encouraging mini fist pump. Yoseob felt a wide grin spread across his face, and started to dance as the music started.

 ---------

"Before we give out the prize, I would like to thank our trainees for working so hard this camp," Doojoon said into the microphone.

The competition was over, and Doojoon was standing on stage, holding a mini trophy designed by the subaes during the camp. It was a funny trophy, built using scrap metal and all kinds of key chains, and the words 'All the best' carved on the plaque in front.

"And now, the team that has displayed great teamwork and originality, goes to..."

The sunbaes sitting in the chairs started to stand up, poppers in their hands. There was a loud 'POP!' as the streamers showered down onto Yoseob and his friends, showing the winner of the competition. Doojoon smiled and handed Junhyung the trophy, which he gleefully held up high for everyone to see. Dongwoon and Hyunseung were hugging each other, laughing hysterically, while the MBLAQ members clapped and cheered as well for their win

The microphone Doojoon was holding was being passed to Yoseob, and Yoseob spoke into it, elated, "Wow, I think this is the first trophy I had ever gotten! I bet this will mean more to me than winning any thing else in future!" Yoseob said, grinning from ear to ear. He passed the microphone back to Doojoon, who smiled and gave him a thumbs up.

 ---------

"I am going to go take a look," Yoseob said to Junhyung an Hyunseung, who were packing their bags. They were set to leave the next morning, after spending one final night in the dorm. Dongwoon had already squeezed his few dirtied T-shirts into his small bag pack and disappeared to god-knows-where.

They were given free time to spare that afternoon, after the competition, before a final barbecue that night. Yoseob who had almost finished with his packing, realized he had left one of his MP3s' in one of the training studios. He walked into the pension, wanting to look for it.

As he walked along the familiar hallway, he heard a piano piece being played.

Oh, is that Jiyong? He must have managed to write up a song during the camp...

Yoseob went towards the music studio with the piano, and walked in.

 "Ji-"

His eyes widened as he saw Doojoon playing the piano. Doojoon stopped as he saw Yoseob come in. Yoseob hurriedly bowed and apologised.

"Sorry! I thought you were Jiyong...erm...I-I am going to take my leave now..." he stammered, trying to walk out of the music studio.

"Wait!" Doojoon called. Yoseob turned, and saw Doojoon gesturing him to sit next to him.

"Come sit, I want you to hear me play," Doojoon smiled. Yoseob blankly pointed at himself. "M-me?"

Doojoon smirked. "No, the invisible smurf standing behind you,"

Yoseob puffed his cheeks, embarrassed. He took a seat next to Doojoon, making sure to try and keep his distance...but failed horribly. The piano was sooo small, he had to balance himself to make sure not to fall.

 Doojoon snorted,

"Honestly, I thought you would have become less awkward with me a little after the incident in the forest,"

Yoseob blushed and drummed his fingers on his lap nervously.

"Do you play the piano?" Doojoon asked, nodding his head towards the manuscript book on the latch of the piano.

"Hmm, I tried, but failed horribly. I usually sang while my mother or Jiyong played the songs," Yoseob said, frowning a bit.

He remembered how when he was young, that he begged Jiyong to teach him the piano because he was curious of how Jiyong was able to create such wonderful music from it. He remembered how he had quit after his stubby fingers never seemed to be able to reach the keys. His mother then comforted him, telling him he could sing while Jiyong or her took turns to play the songs.

Yoseob smiled as he heard Doojoon chuckle. Doojoon took the manuscript book off the latch of the piano, and flipped through the pages, stopping when Yoseob suddenly reached out his hand to stop the flipping of the pages.

"This...I remember! Jiyong wrote this when we were young!" Yoseob said excitedly, pointing at the piano piece in the book. Doojoon nodded, surprised. He had borrowed this manuscript book from Jiyong, and he knew that Jiyong had written the songs, never knowing that Jiyong had written it when he was young. He starred at the complex piece, surprised again at the amount of talent Jiyong seemed to possess.

Doojoon placed the book back on the latch.

"Sing while I play," Doojoon said, smiling.

Music filled the entire studio and Yoseob started to sing. Memories of when he was young came back to him, and he surprised himself by remembering the song, even though he had last heard it so many years ago.

Doojoon smiled, content, as he listened to Yoseob sing. It was rare that someone could make him feel so happy with just his voice. He starred at Yoseob as he played, though the latter didn't notice, as he was singing with his eyes closed. He remembered years ago, when he was young,

"Hey Joon! Listen to this piece of music I wrote!"

"Ughh, not again," the latter boy frowned as his brother, half-brother, I mean, grabbed his hand and ran to the piano. The very same piano in the very same pension they were in.

Despite complaining, Lee Joon listened patiently to the song throughout. He had to admit. It was good. But no way in hell was he going to say that to Doojoon.

"Are you kidding me? It sounds so childish, blehh," Lee Joon teased. Doojoon smiled and ruffled his dongsaeng's hair.

"I know. I am going to get better in future though," he said, unaffected by Lee Joon's words.

"I am going to get better..."

The piano piece ended, and Doojoon sat still for a while, his hands still in position on the keys.

"Direc-Doojoon hyung?" Yoseob asked, starring at Doojoon's face. Doojoon shook his head and smiled at Yoseob. That smile seemed somewhat forlorn though...

"Thank you, that was really nice," Doojoon said to Yoseob. His heart was feeling light, and a bit heavy at the same time. Yoseob nodded, uncertain of whether to leave or not. Doojoon smiled and assured him he was alright, and Yoseob smiled back. He stood up and bowed,

"Well, I need to go now, Doojoon hyung," Yoseob said,

"Yeah, see you at the barbecue," Doojoon waved, as Yoseob exited the studio. Doojoon hung his head towards his chest. He was thinking about Lee Joon, wondering why he hadn't turned up for the competition. He buried his face in his hands.

I shouldn't have let him come back here...

----------

Yoseob rubbed his hands in delight as he saw the plates of food being laid on the table.

He helped Junhyung and the rest set up the table, laughing at the commotion that was happening around them.

"No touching the corn!" he heard Bom sunbae shriek as she slapped away TOP's hands, which were sneakily making their way to the corn on the grill. Doojoon was helping grill the meat on the pit as well.

The SHINee sunbaes were grilling chicken in another pit, with the chicken making their way to Onew's mouth before the members even finished grilling them.

Jiyong smiled and came over to help Yoseob. Yoseob couldn't help but notice there were dark circles beneath his eyes.

"Hyung, are you okay?" he asked. Jiyong looked at him in surprise.

"Of course I am, why wouldn't I be?" Jiyong said, ruffling his hair, but stopped when he saw Hyunseung come up to them.

"Yo, hyung!" Hyunseung said, smiling. Jiyong smiled back, but didn't say anything as he continued to set the table.

 ----------

"Everyone stop eating~" 2NE1's Dara stood up to speak into the microphone. She was giggling excitedly, along with the other girls.

Yoseob put down his fork, filled to the brim with food.

"As a last game for the camp, we had organized a test of courage through the forest for you guys," Minzy said excitedly.

"Everyone will be assigned a partner at random, and you guys just have to walk through this path and make a huge circle around back to this place." CL said, gesturing to the path behind the open barbecue pit that was leading into the forest.

"There will be lights along the way, and the Big Bang guys have volunteered to be the scarers," Bom finished, and Big Bang started to clap. They each took a bag of props that they brought, and started to walk down the path first.

"We are going to position ourselves, you guys come in around 10 minutes," Jiyong grinned. He did a 'hwaiting' sign at Yoseob and Hyunseung, and followed his band members down the path.

Bom fished out a hat containing the names of the people participating.

"Here here~" she squeaked excitedly, holding the hat towards Doojoon. "Director gets to pick first!"

Doojoon smirked and reached his hand into the bag. He opened the slip of paper, and read the name of it.

 "Yang Yoseob,"

Yoseob's eyes widened as he heard his name being called. What? Me? Are you serious?

No one else took notice of his discomfort and picked their partners through the hat, squealing like little girls when they ended up with a partner they liked.

"Yong Junhyung," Hyunseung read. He smiled at Junhyung, who gleefully smiled back.

It was decided. Doojoon and Yoseob would be the first pair to go, followed by the rest in intervals of 20 minutes.

Yoseob stood next to Doojoon, awkward and nervous. He felt like a schoolgirl going on a first date with the guy she liked.

They kept quiet as they walked down the path, with the other people cheering them on. The light from the barbecue place got fainter and fainter as they walked, until it disappeared completely. Yoseob shivered from the cold weather and sneezed, he felt the hairs on the back of his neck rise up, and jumped at the sounds of the nightlife surrounding them.

 Doojoon looked at him, amused.

"Want to hold my hand?" Doojoon chuckled. Yoseob starred at him, before processing what Doojoon had said in his mind...slowly.

Man, the cold weather must be getting to him.

"W-What? N-no thanks!" Yoseob huffed. He took a few steps forward confidently, before accidentally slipping onto a slippery snow glazed surface.

"AH!" Yoseob cried, landing on his . Way to go Yoseob, way to go...

Doojoon sighed and grabbed onto Yoseob's arms and lifted him up. He grabbed his hand and led the way, ignoring Yoseob's protests. Yoseob awkwardly tried to brush the snow off his while matching Doojoon's speed.

Where is the checkpoint...Yoseob desperately thought as he tried hard not to sweat through his palm because Doojoon was holding it. Thank god it was dark, or else Doojoon might have seen his bright crimson face during the walk.

He didn't have time to think much before a thin, bony figure crawled out from behind a tree. It had long, disheveled hair and it was dressed in white ripped and bloody cloth. It was on the ground, making its way towards them.

"HOLY !" Yoseob heard himself swear. He knew that it was one of the Big Bang sunbaes, but , it was way too real.

"Oh my god..." Yoseob managed to breathe as he dug his finger nails into Doojoon's hand. He felt his legs going weak, almost collapsing beneath him.

"Relax...it's you, isn't it, Seungri?" Doojoon laughed. The figure didn't speak, but continued to crawl slowly. Doojoon felt himself tense up and he gripped Yoseob's hand in response, feeling a bit scared himself.

"Come on, it isn't funny..." but Doojoon's voice failed him. He felt his blood run cold as the figure continue to crawl.

Yoseob couldn't help himself. He was so sure he was going to piss right then and there if the thing didn't stop. He grabbed Doojoon's hand and ran past the figure, running in another direction that strayed from the path they were supposed to take. Yoseob ran as fast as he could, before Doojoon finally felt the need to stop and pull Yoseob back.

"Hold it!!" Doojoon breathed. He looked around them, and saw nothing but trees. He tried to look back to where they had come from, but could see nothing.

"Yoseob! Look, we are-" he looked at the boy that was standing behind him. He was sniffing, as if trying not to cry.

 "Erm," Doojoon cleared his throat.

"Sorry..." Yoseob hung his head, ashamed. What trouble had he gotten them into now? He shouldn't have ran...

Doojoon awkwardly comforted Yoseob, telling him it was alright. They started to walk in the direction they thinkthey had ran from, in hope of finding the right path again.

Yoseob and Doojoon walked side by side, not holding hands anymore. There was an awkward silence, before Doojoon decided to break it.

"I remember when I first met you, I didn't know you could be thisclueless..." Doojoon laughed. He remembered back when Yoseob had auditioned, he kept his head down the entire time, except when he was singing and dancing.

Yoseob frowned. Everyone thought him to be like that.

"So you thought I was clueless and hopeless?" Yoseob sighed, knowing the answer.

"No, I thought you were cute," Doojoon said. The word 'cute' sent Yoseob's heart in a mess. His heart went pitter patter as he waited to hear what Doojoon had to say next. But Doojoon kept quiet, not saying anything.

Yoseob felt sort of disappointed, but as he looked up, he saw a blue light in the distance.

"Hey, that's the checkpoint!" he exclaimed excitedly. He ran towards the light, not hearing what Doojoon was shouting as he ran. His excitement got the better of him, as he didn't notice that he was running along a steep edge of a slope.

 "YOSEOB!"

That was the last thing he heard before he felt his foot get caught on an upraised tree root, sending him tumbling to the side.

Yoseob felt the air knocked out of him as he felt himself fall towards the ground of the slope. There was a sickening crack when he fell into his arm on the ground. He felt a heavy pair of arms wrap themselves around him before he could roll down any further, but the heavier weight caused him to roll towards the bottom of the slope. He felt himself get scratched and caught on the tree branches and rocks.

He tumbled and rolled until he came to rest on a flatter piece of ground nearing the bottom of the slope.

Yoseob tried to push himself from the ground but felt a sharp pain shoot through his right arm, the one he had landed on.

"!" he wheezed, feeling a pain in his chest. He looked up and saw Doojoon a few feet away from him, unmoving.

"Oh no," Yoseob whispered, crawling towards Doojoon. He placed his left hand on Doojoon's neck, checking for a pulse, and nearly cried in relief when he felt one. His cry of relief turned to shock as he felt something warm trickling from Doojoon's head.

 Blood...

Doojoon must have hit his head on one of the stones when they were rolling down...

"Oh no..oh no..." Yoseob cried as he felt tears trickling down his cheeks. What do they do now?

 "Yo...seob..."

Yoseob looked up to see Doojoon's eyelids fluttering open. He was barely concious. He tried to sit up, but fell right back to the ground.

"My head..." he croaked, reaching up to touch his head gingerly.

There was a crack of thunder, and lightning flashed across the sky. Yoseob couldn't believe it. It had started to rain, in the worst time possible.

"We need to find shelter," Yoseob whispered to Doojoon, using his left hand to support Doojoon as he was sitting up.

"No ," Doojoon joked, but stopped short as he started to cough really hardly. Yoseob's tears were streaming down his face uncontrollably. He had to find some form of shelter, and fast.

They couldn't walk up the slope, no, there wasn't any energy left for that, and the rain made it all the harder to climb. They had to find a cave or some sort to shelter themselves from the rain.

"I am going to look for some help, please stay here..." Yoseob choked through his tears. Doojoon opened his eyes just slightly to stare at Yoseob. Doojoon was scared that Yoseob would just leave him there, but he knew he could somehow or rather trust him. Doojoon tried to smile, but his facial muscles didn't seem to be working. He nodded and lay back on the ground, trusting Yoseob to keep to his word and knowing he couldn't move even if he tried anyway.

Yoseob reached over to squeeze his hand and he stood up. He limped forward, almost falling to the ground as he felt the sharp pain in his chest again. His right arm hung limply by his side, useless.

He wheezed as he forced himself to walk forward, keeping his eyes open for any sign of a cave or shelter or even better, help.

But he couldn't do it. Everything was blurry because of his tears and the rain, and he knew there wasn't much hope in finding a shelter anyway. A sharp pain shot through his chest again, and this time Yoseob felt himself give in to the pain. He fell on his knees and excepted himself to fall face ward into the wet leaves that littered the ground.

Funny, he never expected the leaves to be this dry...

 nor warm...
