The Fate of The Red Thread
It was 8 in the morning.
The door opened and slammed.
You opened your eyes and awoke alone. There were footsteps heading towards you and the blanket was stripped from you.
You closed back your eyes and searched for the blanket blindly.
"Wake up, Princess" A voice says.
You shot up and were fully awake when you saw Sunggyu folding the blanket you used. You looked around,
and you werent in the room you slept last night. You also looked at the clothes you were wearing, they werent
what you were wearing last night either.
"How did i get in here? Where am i?" You ask him.
"I carried you here. This is your room. The prince's is just across from here." He says opening a door full of blankets.
You look at him, confused. He was putting the blanket in the closet. You then look at yourself.
"How did i get these clothes on?" You ask gripping the clothes from your chest.
"The maids put it on you." He replies. "You sure ask a lot of questions, Princess."
"Dont call me that." You say pointing at him.
"They say youre just like the queen, she was denying being the princess in the beginning too." He said.
Ignoring his remark, you ask
"What are you doing here anyway?"
He walked to the door and said "I live here. I work for the prince. Oh, and sorry for taking you two apart.
I should have just left you on his bed. But somethings just not right for a 29 year old woman to be
sleeping next to a 23 year old man." He says holding the doorknob. "Next time, ill refrain myself ma'am. Breakfast is ready."
He bowed and walked out the door.
From annoyance, you picked up a pillow and threw it to the door.
You pouted.
"Food?" You turned your head and started getting off the bed. You limped to the door, and opened the door.
There was Sunggyu outside waiting for you offering his arm.
You grabbed his arm from happiness, but then only realized seconds later that you were supposed to be mad at him.
He chuckled a little.
You let go of his arm and said
"Show me the way."
"You mean you wont even accept my help after lying to me?" He asked.
"You lied to me." You said turned away from him and arms crossed like a child.
He walked up to you.
"What did i lie about?" He asks while offering his arm.
"You said you lived in that apartment building." You reply.
"I do. Sometimes. Ill explain it to you after." He said looking troubled.
You saw his troubled expression and held on to his arm.
"Whats for dinner?" You ask him.
"Dinner. I dont know. Breakfast, you'll see when we get there." He smoothly replied.
'Did i say dinner???' You thought to yourself.
You laughed awkwardly.
There were attendants bowing to you both on the way.
"Everyone saw my weak side." You say smiling weakly, looking at your limping ankle.
He looked at your face, ankle, then straight ahead.
"Youre being pretty strong right now. Marrying someone you hardly know." He said.
'That wasnt what i wanted to hear.' You think.
You both approached a door, and Sunggyu opened it for you.
"What a gentleman." You tease.
"Just helping the helpless." He mumbled.
You smiled.
He led you to a table, and there were the prince and his parents. Sunggyu seated you.
You were flustered by looking at Dongwoo, remembering lastnight.
"Did something happen lastnight?" The queen asked, smirking.
"N-No! I slept in the room across from his, Your Highness." You said, trying to be polite as possible.
"Thats too bad." She says, and gestures you to eat.
'Too bad?' You think.
"Jalmuhgetsumnida." You say while you clasp your hands together.
You start to eat. Then you look at Sunggyu, who is being an attendant.
You gesture him to sit next to you, by this big wooden table that has everyone on the end of it.
He mouths "Eat." in annoyance.
You pout.
"So um, Your highness. I had something to discuss with you." You say.
"Alright, we also have some marriage plans to discuss with you." The queen says.
You nod awkwardly.
"Ah, Do- I mean Prince! Are you alright?" You ask him.
"Im fine." He says.
"Thats good." You say in relief.
He smiles at you and goes back to eating.
'I dont feel well.' You think, grabbing your stomach. 'Washroom!'
You look at Sunggyu and mouth "Help."
He makes an annoyed face, and looks away.
You catch his attention again and mouth "My stomach hurts."
He interrupts everyones breakfast and says "Sorry your highness, i brought the princess here with her pajamas on.
She will go change right away." while holding your hand and helping you up.
You both bow.
'How embarrassing.' You think.
"Ow~" You say and bend down.
"Were there mushrooms in what i was eating?" You ask him.
"Probably." He says.
"Thats bad for your ankle." Sunggyu says and picks you up.
'This is embarrassing.... but.' You think to yourself. "W-washroom please." You say putting your arms around him, and
burying your face in his chest from embarrassment.
"I understand." He says walking to the washroom.
'So understanding' You thought.
He chuckled at the whole thing.
'Or not..
Atleast he's truly smiling.'
"Were here, princess." He says, setting you down by the washroom door.
You limp to the door and shoo Sunggyu away.
After you were done, you see Sunggyu on one of those "waiting chairs", and he is dozing off.
You sit by his side.
You then look at his face, and sit politely.
"Sunggyu.." You say. "Im not Mi-"
"Princess." The prince interrupts.
"Prince." You say.
