[Byul HyunRi’s POV]

The soft buzzing sound and light vibration knocked me out of LalaLand. My eyelids slowly fluttered upwards; my sight zeroed to the glowing digits of the clock. “6.48AM” it read. Drowsily, I searched for the unknown vibrating object, which turned out to be KyuHyun’s iPhone.

‘Incoming call – Manager-Hyung’

I yawned and nudged KyuHyun’s back, who happened to be asleep with his back facing me.

Wait a minute… How on earth did KyuHyun end up beside me? … Oh, right; the pillow fights.

“KyuHyun, wake up,” I dugged my elbow deeper into his the small of his back. “Manager’s calling!”

He groaned in annoyance and simply replied, “Answer the call, then.” before snuggling lazily into the sheets.

By this time, the manager had already given up on calling. Seconds later, the phone vibrated again, signaling a new text message from the manager.

I nudged KyuHyun’s back again, “Hey, manager sent in a text message.”

“Read it out,” KyuHyun yawned.

I glared at that lazy, sleepy figure before doing what I was told to. The text message:

Manager-hyung: KyuHyun, why didn’t you pick up my call? Anyway, the flood has subsided and the roads are cleared. I’ll be reaching the hotel in ten minutes to drive you and HyunRi back to the dorm. Be ready by then.

“Alright, Kyuhyun, you really have to wake up now.” I shook him lightly. “Manager will be here in ten minutes!”

Like a stubborn child, KyuHyun whined and threw the covers over his head. “I’m tired!” He protested.

I sighed huffily as I scanned the room for a solution to the problem—my gaze landed on the television set. A devious smirk formed on my face…

“TODAY’S NEW PRODUCT WILL BE THE MUSTACHE HOLDER! IT WAS 3.142 FUNCTIONS; EVEN BETTER THAN THE MUSTACHE CLEANER—”

“YAHHHHH!” KyuHyun yelled, he threw the covers up and sat up hastily. 

Umma! If looks could kill, I'll be dead by now...

I could feel KyuHyun glaring daggers in to my back as I returned the hotel room key. He held his glare as I went over to join him.

“W-what is it?” I blinked innocently.

KyuHyun rubbed his bed-head, “I’m having a major headache now and it’s your entire fault.”

“My fault…?” I acted blur.

“Yes,” KyuHyun said firmly. “You didn’t have to switch off that stupid television set.”

“But it was the only way to wake you up!”

“Then it’s still your fault that I didn’t get enough sleep,” KyuHyun stuck out his tongue childishly.

“You—”

“KyuHyun! HyunRi! Get into the van now, we have a meeting to attend in the dormitory! Everyone’s waiting for you two.”

Behind us, Mr. Lee was standing a few feet away with the company van parked behind him. KyuHyun and I looked at each other in confusion.

A meeting…?

The ride back was quite and the atmosphere in the van was still. We arrived at our dormitory and found the entire crew settled down in the living room. The two other managers set warily on the sofa. Beside them, ZhouMi, RyeoWook, EunHyuk and SungMin were perched on chairs that were dragged in from the dining area. Even DongHae and SiWon were here, too. The other crew members, both female and male staff gathered in the room. MinNa stood in a corner; mascara stain-lines were visible on her cheek.

Mr. Lee went over and joined the other two managers on the sofa. He tiredly sighed and begun, “Yesterday, we received a call from the police department. It turned out the RinNa was the cause for HyunRi’s accident a few weeks ago. She was found guilty for hiring girls to do the dirty work.”

My eyes widened as I searched the room for MinNa’s younger sister, RinNa. She was not present. I croaked out in shock, “R-RinNa…? She was behind all this?”

Mr. Lee nodded and turned to me, “You have till tonight to decide whether to press charges on RinNa or not. However, whether if you decide to press or not press charges, RinNa’s contract as a translator will be terminated.” He turned to the crew and sternly said, “Listen up. There is no way that I can tolerate something like this to happen again. Do you guys know how much trouble the managers and I went through just to make sure that this news does not get into the press?!”

Everyone stayed silent while I stood, frozen, to my spot.

“I do not want something like this to happen again,” His voice was full of authority. “Understood?”

“Yes,” everyone replied at once.

“Good. Dismissed.”

As everyone left the dorm, MinNa lingered behind.

“HyunRi-sshi,” MinNa approached me with her head down. “Could I please have a word with you, in private?”
