[Byul HyunRi’s POV]

The eagle-look-alike elder sister of the newly hired translators, Kim MinNa continued to beak around. Occasionally winking and ing her massive chest forward at the Super Junior M boys. She was about to attack KyuHyun with another of her nauseating flirty actions when her younger sister, RinNa complained.

“Unni, look!” RinNa cried out sadly. “She keeps getting in between Henry oppa and me!”

What?!

MinNa turned around and I faced her with a bored expression on my face.

And guess what? MinNa let out a dramatic shriek. She widened her large (courtesy of circle lenses) brown eyes and slapped her right hand onto her chest. Then, with her left finger, she pointed straight at my nose.

Huh? Is my face that scary?

“Omo! Was she here the whole time?” MinNa fanned her face with her heavily manicured fingers as if it was going to prevent her from hyperventilating.

When MinNa realized that everyone (apart from RinNa) were just starring at her and not answering her question, she turned to KyuHyun, “Was she here all the time?”

KyuHyun slowly nodded in a yeah-she-was-here-all-the-time-you-mean-you-didn’t-notice-her? manner.

The dumber younger sister spoke up, “I bet she’s one of Super Junior M’s fans who snuck in just to get close to the boys! Now she’s got my poor Henry!” RinNa pouted longingly at Henry and like a terrified puppy, Henry yelped and dived down behind my back hoping to hide himself from the predator.

The meaner older sister then glared directly at me, “Now, little fan, you’ve got your time with the boys and it’s time for you to leave. I, as their new translator, need my private time to interact and get to know them better.”

“What do you mean? I—”

“I said that it’s time for you to leave.”

I rolled my eyes, “I—”

“Yeah!” RinNa chimed. “Leave now! You desperate little fan!”

YAH! YOU TWO, STOP CUTTING ME OFF AND JUST LET ME SPEAK.

MinNa decided to take action, she stride over to me and attempted to push me out of the room.

“Arghh, get your claws off me—”

“Ah, I see you guys have already met.”

We whipped our heads around and saw Mr. Lee standing by the door, “MinNa and RinNa, meet HyunRi. She’ll be on the translating team along with you guys.”

I let out a heavy sigh as I pig-pressed my nose against the tinted windows of Super Junior M’s van.

There’s one thing that I don’t get at all.

Is my presence on the translating team that scary and unacceptable?

There was no need for such a dramatic response from MinNa after Mr. Lee announced to the Kim sisters that I am one of Super Junior M’s translators.

There was no need to faint in front of everyone.

“HyunRi-noona, I don’t think it’s safe for you to be put in the same dormitory as the Kim sisters. I have a feeling that they’ll do something bad to you.” Henry said worriedly.

Right now, I’m sitting beside Henry at the backseat of the van. The other members were in the van, too. The Kim sisters were in the van in front us with the other staff members.

And about sharing of dorms, a few moments after MinNa fainted, Mr. Lee announced, “I just got a call saying that your dormitories are ready early. So we’ll be moving there straight away now instead of spending the night in this hotel. The Super Junior M boys would be sharing one apartment. The other female staff members, including the three translators will be sharing another apartment. The other male staff will be sharing another.”

The van pulled into an empty parking lot, “We’re here!” the driver called.

We unloaded our luggage and went up to our apartments which were located on the 16^th floor. My dormitory was just across Super Junior M’s.

“HyunRi-noona,” Henry called nervously. “Be safe, alright?”

I gave him a reassuring smile before struggling to pull my luggage into the apartment. Shoes that belonged to the other female crew members were already sprawled all over the entrance as they had arrived earlier before me.

When I got into the apartment, I noticed that some of the female staff members were murmuring unhappily and they seemed upset and pissed about something.

“Who do they think they are?” One of them rolled their eyes. “After all, they’ll only newbies.”

“Exactly! How can they just barge in and claim it theirs?!”

I approached them and politely bowed, “Unni, what happened here?”

I let out a really, really heavy and defeated sigh as I pulled my luggage into the smallest room of the dormitory.

It turned out that when the female staff members entered the apartment; MinNa had marched in, elbowing the staff members out of her way, and claimed the master bedroom as hers. She insisted that she and RinNa needed their own private room and that they had the most amount of luggage so that having the biggest room in the apartment was a must for her.

Due to my late arrival, all the other three rooms had already been taken up, leaving only a very small spare room for me....or what some people would refer to it as the laundry room. 

Oh, what a lovely life. Not.

I sat down in the corner of my room and pulled my knees up so that my chin was resting on my knees.The room was so silent and empty...

 Suddenly, I felt lonely.

I was trap in an unfamiliar area, with no family members around me. I realized that in this dormitory, I had no one to seek comfort with. There was no one I could share my troubles with. The other female staff here have already been in this profession for quite some time and were already pretty familiar with each other. Even MinNa and RinNa had each other to cry with when either of them breaks a nail or something. I had no one. 

And without seeking my consent, a lone tear rolled down my cheek.

HyunRi, I told myself. There is no use crying. In this situation, you have to be brave, alright. You just need time to get use to this foreign land, make new friends and then, you won’t feel so lonely anymore.

A drop of water splashed onto my arm.

Huh?

I felt another drop of water splash onto my head, followed by several other drops.

Is it raining indoors? This is getting a little ridiculous. 

I looked up and found that water was leaking from the air-conditioner installed in the ceiling. I sighed, just my luck.

I was about to leave the room and grab a pot or something to contain the leaking water when someone knocked onto the door before opening it.

It was Mr. Lee; I stood up and quickly wiped my tears away.

Manager Lee poked his head into the room, “I heard that there was some quarreling over the room arrangement. Are you okay here?”

The leakage was starting to get bigger. Now, water was dripping continuously out of the ceiling. I quickly covered my head with my arms and stood up.

“The ceiling is leaking?” Mr. Lee frowned. “Oh, right! It must have slipped my mind, I must have forgotten to mention that the pipes in one of the rooms are spoiled and the air-conditioner might leak anytime.”

“Are there anymore spare rooms?” Manager Lee asked as he helped me pull my luggage out of the room.

I shook my head ‘no’ as I grabbed my bag-pack and went out to the living room with Mr. Lee.

Mr. Lee thought for awhile, “Look, I there’s a free room over at the boys’ dormitory. If you don’t mind, I think you should move in there.”

“Umm… I’m not sure if this is a good idea,” I said to Manager Lee, who was now dragging my luggage across to Super Junior M’s apartment.

He smiled kindly, “I’m sure the boys’ wouldn’t mind. And I absolutely will not allow one of my youngest workers to sleep in a leaking room.”

I was so touched by his words that I did not noticed that he was already knocking onto the door. It was RyeoWook who opened it. 

"Ah, RyeoWook-ah, there is still a vaccant room, right?" 

RyeoWook nodded, a little confused at the sight of his manager holding on to a unfamiliar luggage. Manager Lee explained the situation over at the female staff dormitory and they came to an agreement that I could bunk at their dorm, at least for the time being. 

As I trailed behind the manager and RyeoWook into the apartment, I realised that Super Junior M’s dorm was much better than the previous apartment I’ve been in. It had a large balcony in the living room that overlooked the whole of TaiPei. The apartment was bright and homey.

“Everyone come out! HyunRi’s going to stay here with us in the spare room!” RyeoWook happily called.

The other Super Junior M members filed into the living room, surprised by the fact that they were going to have an additional dorm-mate.

Henry bounced into the living room and threw his arms around me, “Yipee! HyunRi-noona’s joining us! I’m so glad!”

“Hey, welcome to our dormitory,” SiWon, ZhouMi and DongHae said with a smile.

I don’t know why, but SungMin, RyeoWook and EunHyuk were cheering.

From the corner of my eye, I saw KyuHyun. He was looking directly at me and he had a small smile/smirk on his face.

All of a sudden, I didn’t feel so lonely in this foreign country anymore.
