Jonghyun’s POV:

“So you’re bored, huh?” Key asked.

“Yes. Bored. Really bored. Any ideas for what I can do to end this boredom?” I asked, shooting him puppy eyes and hoping that whatever he would suggest we do something together.

He thought for a minute. “Ok, come with me then. I’ll show you my favorite place!” he said, and quickly jumped up from his seat.

“Favorite place?”

“Yeah! Come on!” he pulled me off the bed and pushed me out the door.

He stopped halfway out the door. “Wait! It’s a surprise!” he shouted, and suddenly my eyes were covered by a small strip of opaque cloth.  He then continued to drag me out of the room, this time walking a little slower and making sure I didn’t run into anything.

I heard the elevator doors ding open, but I couldn’t tell if we were going up or down.

“Kibum, where are we going?” I asked as we exited the elevator.

“I told you. It’s a surprise,” he replied stubbornly.

“Fine.”

I flinched slightly when I felt a cold wind hit my face.

“Can I look now?” I asked, and he laughed.

“Not yet. Almost there.” We walked a few more steps and then he stopped us. “We are here.”

He removed the blindfold and for a few seconds, I was blinded by the sudden brightness. We were standing on the roof of our dorms.

“This is your favorite place?” I asked, curious.

“Yeah.” I watched him as he walked over to the edge and leaned against it, looking around at the surrounding buildings. I walked over and leaned on the edge, facing him.

“Why do you like it so much?”

“Well, I’m not sure. It just relaxes me. You don’t like it?”

“Nah, it’s cool. I just don’t understand why you would pick it as your favorite.”

“If you don’t like it, you can leave,” he said with sass in his voice.

“No, I like it. Like I said, it’s cool but I don’t understand how it makes the top of your list. No need to get pissy.”

“I’m not in the mood to fight you right now.” He sighed heavily. “I don’t know why I love it Jonghyun. I’m not asking you to understand. I just wanted to show it to you.”

“Ok. Well, thanks for showing this to me.” We stayed up there for a while, neither of us saying a word. But for the first time since I met him, it wasn’t an awkward silence. It wasn’t quite a comfortable silence, but neither of us felt the need to break it.

“I think your phone is ringing,” Key said.

“Thank you, captian obvious. I just wanted to listen to my ringtone. Isn’t it awesome? Yeoboseyo?”

“Hey Jjong. Where are you? Is Key with you?”

“Oh hey Onew hyung. We are up on the roof. Why?”

“Minho, Taemin and I want to go out to eat. Get your butts down here so you can come with us!”

“Yes hyung! Be right there!” I heard him hang up.

“What did Onew hyung want?” Key asked.

“We are going out to dinner with the rest of the group. Let’s go!”

He gave one last longing look at the roof as we headed out the door and went back to our room.

“Hyungs are here!” Taemin shouted when we entered the room.

“FINALLY! Let’s go! I’m starving!” Onew said, shoving past us and heading out the door.

“Ignore him. He’s had a long day,” Minho said, patting me on the shoulder as he followed Onew. I looked at Taemin and he shrugged.

“Hurry up!” Onew called from the hall, and we exited the room again, smiling.

Our meal was delicious. We had walked there, since the restaurant was only half a mile away.

“Hyung, I’m tired. Carry me?” Taemin asked, shooting me the cutest puppy eyes I have ever seen.

“Sure, hop on my back!” I said. There was no way I could possibly resist the adorable look he was giving me. Onew chuckled. Minho looked jealous, but he quickly put a smile on his face. I almost started laughing.

After a few blocks, I put Taemin down, making him pout.

“Why did you drop me hyung?” he asked.

“I’m just tired. You are heavy,” I lied, making him pout more. “I think Minho would be perfectly happy to give you a piggyback ride though if you ask him.”

“Minho, can you give me a piggyback ride? Pleeeeeease?”

Minho beamed. “Of course! Hop on!” Taemin’s face lit up.

Those two were so cute. Minho obviously liked Taemin, and Taemin was completely oblivious. It was adorable.

“Key, can you give me a piggyback ride? Pleeeeease?” I asked, attempting to copy Taemin.

“Of course… not.” He smiled.

“Why not?”

“Cuz. I don’t want to. Anyways, you look heavy.”

“Key, can you give me a piggyback ride? Pleeeeease?” Onew asked.

Key laughed. “Sure hyung! Hop on!” Onew ‘yay’ed and jumped onto Kibum’s back.

“Hey! Why does he get a ride when I don’t?!” I asked, upset.

“Because I like him more than you,” he smirked. Onew, Minho, and Taemin all burst into laughter.

A/N: ok, I know this chapter is short, and I know it doesn't really make that much sense that Jonghyun and Kibum are just magically friends, just like that, but stories don't have to make sense, right? (meaning I pretty much didn't want to write a ton of useless chapters about how they slowly became friends.)
