Dream 02: Spending Time and Black Boxes

Dreams of Red Snow

A being clad in the same black leather jacket now stood before the crowd, face unseen. On one hand, a long sword glints at the moon’s light. It winks at the two watching from afar. Blue eyes shone with rage at the group coming closer. The blade was raised up and swung down, creating a strong gust of wind. Those same eyes watched as one and more started disappearing from the group of inhuman beings. The anger in them didn’t vanish even if the creatures were eradicated and reduced into dust. Fangs were bare and clenched at each powerful and deadly swing of the blade.

The creatures paused and started walking backwards at each step forward the being clad in black made.  The sword was placed back into its scabbard, sleeping at its master’s waist. The being took out a pair of silver 9mm Colt 45 handguns as blue eyes met with a hollowed mask. Two rounds were fired. No sound was heard even in all this commotion. A cry full of rage echoed.

“Jessica!” Jessica’s eyes opened at the call of her name. She looked around and found that she was in her car.

“My… head…” Jessica whispered in pain. She heard a couple of voices for a few seconds. No sooner did she feel a pill placed in her hand and her water bottle in her other hand. She drank the pill and closed her eyes, waiting for the pain to subside. It was taking a lot of time.

“Unnie, are you alright?” She looked at the front where she found her sister driving. Her head ached. A cold hand found its way on her forehead and the pain slowly started subsiding. She opened her eyes, this time because she was feeling better. She realized that she was leaning on someone. She ly to regret it.

“Jessi?” Tiffany was too close yet she didn’t move. She felt her heart beat rapidly but no blush adorned her cheeks. She stared at the girl’s brown eyes, comforted that she can see worry in them. There was something else but she can’t see them. Something is blocking it. A surge of pain in her head once again made her close her eyes and she unconsciously buried her head on Tiffany’s chest, hoping that the pain would stop.

“Do you want to go to the hospital?” Krystal’s voice seemed distant.

“No, it’s alright. I can handle this. Pick Sulli up.”

“Are you sure, Tiffany unnie?” Jessica felt a nod before hearing the car door open and close. There was silence.

“Jessi…” Tiffany’s voice was like a melody that lulled her heart and numbed the pain in her head momentarily. She felt arms wound around her tightly. It was so soothing. She could hear Tiffany’s heart beat and it sang melodies to her. She didn’t know if time passed for a long time that the drug took effect or if it was because of Tiffany, but the pain stopped. Although she can’t remember anything once again, she was feeling a lot better. She loosens her tight grip on Tiffany’s shirt that she didn’t realize she had.

“Sorry…” Jessica tried pulling away from Tiffany. She felt that Tiffany didn’t let her go right away but still did.

“How are you feeling?” Jessica could hear the concern in her voice.

“I’m feeling better. It’s just a head ache.” Jessica just closed her eyes and leaned back on the seat. She could feel Tiffany’s eyes on her and she unconsciously smiled. Catching herself, she removed the smile from her face.

“Does it happen often?” She internally let out a sigh of relief, happy that Tiffany didn’t notice that she had just smiled at her.

“No. It just happened today. I’m fine now. Let’s go out.” She told Tiffany.

“Is it a date?” Jessica was a bit surprised by the question and it made her look at Tiffany who she found was smiling very happily. It was then did she notice her choice of words.

“Aish! That’s not what I meant.” Jessica quickly said, an uncontrolled blush sits on her cheeks. She was even more embarrassed when Tiffany just smiled at her sweetly.

“I understand.” Tiffany went out of the other door and before Jessica could even react, she also opened the door. Jessica reluctantly went out of the door with Tiffany’s help.

“Thank you.” She whispered softly but loud enough for Tiffany to hear.

“You’re welcome, Jessi.” Tiffany walked alongside Jessica. It was only then that Jessica noticed that Tiffany was wearing a gray turtle neck with a pair of jeans. Her pink scarf was noticeable and she noticed that she was wearing the black leather coat.

“Oh, you’re wearing it again.” Jessica commented. Tiffany seemed to know what she was pertaining to right away and gave an apropos answer.

“You gave it to me before I left last night so I am wearing it.” Tiffany’s answer had subtly said that she was willing to wear anything that Jessica would give her but unfortunately, Jessica didn’t notice. They reached the entrance of the airport. They made their way to one of the benches in the area and waited for Krystal to return with Sulli.

“So where do you want to go after we drop Krystal and Sulli to the apartment?” Tiffany started. Jessica thought about it for a bit. She didn’t think about that yet. Then, a certain place appeared in her mind.

“The park…” She whispered and Tiffany heard it. Before she could answer, Krystal came in view with Sulli.

“Unnies! Sulli is here.” Krystal said as she got to where Jessica and Tiffany are.

“Annyeong, Jessica unnie, Tiffany unnie.” Sulli greeted with a smile.

“Welcome back, Sulli.” Both Jessica and Tiffany greeted back. They started walking back to the parking lot Tiffany was currently talking to Sulli while Jessica walked with her own sister.

“Unnie, are you okay?” Krystal asked Jessica worriedly while hugging her.

“I’m feeling better now. My head ached for a bit but it’s gone now.” Jessica answered softly.

“Are you sure? You seemed to be in pain when I left. Tiffany unnie said that she’ll take care of it.” Jessica remembered what she felt when Tiffany held her. She ended up spacing out with a blush on her face.

“Unnie?” Krystal called out to her dazed unnie. She was still guiding her unnie so it wasn’t worrying her but the look on Jessica’s face is something that shouldn’t be ignored or shrugged off.

“Did something happen?” Krystal asked louder this time. She was wearing an accusing look as she looked at Jessica. The older Jung caught this and immediately snapped out of her daze.

“Nothing.” She said coldly, trying to end the topic. Krystal couldn’t help but tease.

“That’s right. Nothing happened and here you are, blushing while staring into space. Omo! Could it be?” Jessica looked at her sister, a bit nervous as to what she might say next.

“What?” Jessica asked nervously.

“You’re not staring into space. You’re imagining Tiff-” At the sound of her name, Tiffany ly to see Jessica covering Krystal’s mouth.

“Hm?” Tiffany looked at them curiously.

“It’s nothing. Let’s go.” Jessica said before glaring at her sister, who shut up with a smile. The four of them entered the car after putting Sulli’s bag in the compartment. Krystal sat on the driver’s seat again with Sulli next to her in front. Jessica and Tiffany sat next to each other once again.

Taeyeon sat before her table with the computers before her. She was wearing a pair of glasses as she stared at the screens. Even if she was an immortal, too much time in front of a computer can damage eye nerves.

“Unnie? You have a meeting in five minutes.” Taeyeon looked up to see Seohyun by the door, carrying stacks of paper in her arms.

“Hold on a bit. I’ll just save this.” A couple of typing sounds and she stood up from her desk. She already has her files and presentation with her. On her way out, Sunny came in view. She had just gotten back from the restroom.

“Oh, you’re going already?” Sunny asked. Taeyeon nodded.

“I have a meeting to go to. I’ll be back soon okay?” Taeyeon said before giving a kiss on Sunny’s cheek.

“Good luck.” Sunny said with a smile as Taeyeon made her way to the designated room. Sunny went in the room and saw Seohyun. She was behind her desk, looking through the stacks of paper and typing some of the information in the computer.

“Oh, Seohyun, what are you doing?” Sunny asked, making her way behind Seohyun and looking over her shoulder.

“These are the updated information of the staff in the organization. I’m in charge of updating them so things like mails would not get mixed up. There are many people working here now unlike before. When the Shi Dae Organization was not running a marketing business, then it was easier to keep track of the people.”

“How many people do we have now?”

“More than two thousand.”

“That many? I remember only have about two to three hundred five years ago.” Seohyun only smiled at Sunny and nodded. Sunny took some of the papers.

“Unnie?” Seohyun looked at her questioningly.

“Yeah?”

“What are you doing?”

“Helping. I’m going to wait for Tae and I don’t think that meeting will be done in five minutes. I might as well help you when I can.” Sunny said as she started placing in the different information on the computer. She marveled at how fast the computer could find the personnel. Pictures flashed and changed in a breeze before the right staff member came out. Each paper went to the finished folder as the both of them typed. Sunny stopped when she saw Taeyeon’s paper.

“Oh? Seo, why is Taeyeon’s paper here?” Seohyun looked over to see that Sunny was indeed holding a form with Taeyeon’s information on it.

“I am not sure, unnie. But maybe she’s planning on updating something in her profile.” Sunny read and each file, looking for things that seemed different in the database. She didn’t notice anything odd except that there was a change on Taeyeon’s marital status. But before she could read it, the door opened, earning both Sunny’s and Seohyun’s attention.

“Hey, Seo, the meeting ended early so-” Taeyeon stopped when she saw Sunny holding a familiar piece of paper.

“Ah!” Taeyeon bolted towards the unsuspecting Sunny and quickly took the paper. She hid the paper behind her.

“Did you see?” Taeyeon asked. Sunny noticed that there was a bit of fear in Taeyeon’s eyes.

“I didn’t finish reading it.” Sunny started. Taeyeon let out a sigh.

“But Kim Taeyeon, what is this change in your marital status?” Taeyeon froze.

“Eh? But I thought you said you didn’t read it!” Taeyeon said while Sunny just crossed her arms.

“I said I didn’t finish reading it. Kim Taeyeon!” Sunny said before stomping out of the room. Taeyeon had open.

“Sorry, Unnie. I didn’t think you already placed that in your data. It was unexpected for Sunny unnie to see it as well. I’m sorry.” Seohyun apologized. Taeyeon just shook her head.

“No, it’s alright. I was planning on telling her anyway. I didn’t think I have to do it earlier though.” Taeyeon said while rummaging in her desk drawer.

“I’m really sorry, unnie.” Seohyun apologized again. Taeyeon chuckled.

“It’s nothing I hope I can’t fix so don’t worry about it. Well, erase my schedule for the rest of the day. I’m spending time with Sunny today and I hope every preparation won’t mind being advanced.” Taeyeon said before wearing her jacket and taking her keys. A black box was placed in her pocket.

“Good luck, Unnie.” Seohyun said before Taeyeon waved as she went out the door. Seohyun sighed as she turned back to her work. Hyoyeon peeked in no later.

“Hey, Seo. Still working?” Seohyun nodded.

“Ne, unnie.” Hyoyeon came in with lunch.

“I brought some lunch. Take a break?” Seohyun reluctantly looked at the papers, and then to Hyoyeon. The vampire made a face.

“Okay, I’ll take a break, Unnie.”  After Seohyun arranged the files, Hyoyeon beamed and took Seohyun’s hand in hers and led the girl out of the room.

Two figures lay tired together on a bed, ragged breaths were heard. Doe eyes opened and they were their normal brown color. A blush heavily adorned cheeks as the owner realized what she had just done. She sat up with the blanket over her body while her lover beside her was catching her breath.

“Yoong~ Uh… I’m sore.” Her lover complained. Yoona looked at Yuri incredulously.
“Whose fault do you think that is?” Yoona said pouting. Yuri smiled and looked at Yoona lovingly.

“Okay, I admit that it’s all my fault. It’s just we haven’t have time to spend. The organization keeps on borrowing me to help.” Yuri rolled over on her stomach and placed her head on the pillow.

“But I didn’t think that I would get this in return.” Yuri said with a happy grin that Yoona’s heart couldn’t help but melt and she smiled as well. Yoona leaned in on Yuri and placed a kiss on her forehead. They lay down for a while.

“What was that I heard a while ago?” Yoona asked about the phone call that Yuri received before all this.

“Oh! I forgot. Sooyoung called to tell us that we didn’t have to go to the café today since Sunny will be spending time with her for a while. She invited us to go and visit or help out in the organization.” Yuri answered.

“Do you think it will be late to go?” Yoona asked.  Yuri shook her head.

“I don’t think so. Let’s get ready. We should say hi to the other members.” Yoona smiled before nodding. Yuri got up from the bed and Yoona turned.

“Aigoo~ Yoona, it’s not like you haven’t seen anything yet.” Yuri said teasingly,

“Just go now, Unnie. I’m red here.” Yoona said motioning for the girl to take one of their blankets to cover up.  Yuri giggled and took one.

“Okay. I’ll be going now.” Yuri disappeared into the bathroom. Yoona sat on their bed. She thought about Yuri and remembered the first time they met. She remembered the events from five years ago. She smiled as she felt very blessed to have Yuri beside her. She heard the water running. Yoona looked at the bathroom door for a bit before taking her phone from the night stand. She dialed a familiar number. She waited for the caller to answer.

“Yeoboseyo?” A familiar voice came through the phone.

“Taeyeon unnie, it’s Yoona.”

“Oh, Yoona. What can I do for you?”

“Can you help me look for something?”

Sooyoung was in her office with one of their staff members.

“Okay, so take these if they hurt. I’ll write you a receipt. It should be gone after a week. If it worsens, come to me and I’ll look into it. Okay?” Sooyoung said at the young man who accepted the medicine she gave and the receipt.

“Thank you very much, Dr. Choi.” The young man said before bowing and leaving. Sooyoung smiled before turning back to her work. She recorded the information in the computer and checked their inventory once again.

*Knock* *Knock*

“Who is it?” Sooyoung asked as she turned from her work to the door. Hyoyeon and Seohyun came in sight.

“Oh, Seo, Hyo. What are you two doing here?” She asked as she eyed the packages they had in their hands.

“Hi, Unnie.” Seohyun greeted.

“We brought lunch. Want to eat together?” Sooyoung nodded and the two entered and they began eating. Seohyun gave Sooyoung her lunch and started eating hers as well. The three chatted together while they ate. They talked about how last night’s party went and what they were doing at the moment. They shared a couple of laughs.
