Be My Date, So-Mi
 

"Yoboseayo."

"Hello, So-Mi-ssi?"

"Detective Lee? How did you get my number?"

"Umm...from your friend, Amber."

I‘m gonna kill her, she thought.

It was one of the rare afternoons where she was at her Appa and Omma’s.

And she was busy cleaning the place.

"Oh. Hi then. Anything wrong?"

"Ani. Nothing. But could we meet for a while?"

“Eh? Oh, ok.”

“Near the corner of your apartment? At the bicycle shop?”

He has sent her home before.

“Neh, when?”

“In half an hour?”

"Could we make it in an hour?" she scrunched her nose at her smelly t shirt.

"Ok, an hour it is."

She could hear his smile.

And she smiled in return.

He handed her a crisp beige envelope.

“Oh, thank you. What is this?”

“An invitation.”

At her look of query, he braved himself, “there’s a Lunar celebration at the station. If you don’t mind, I’d like you to be my date.”
