13. Pricked
Love Like This
[November 2011]
Since I was a little kid, I always hoped for a handsome prince charming to come and kiss me so that I would become a princess and live in a huge castle. It somehow did come true but now I knew that the dream I held on to was nothing but a huge lie because I still couldn’t see or feel the happily ever after that my mother used to tell me right before I went to bed years ago.
Now, I didn’t know, everything just happened too fast and all I knew next was I was stared with a very weird kind of look by the peculiar guy in front of me.
We kissed but I couldn’t feel anything.
I didn’t get this guy. I couldn’t reply to his kiss but he’s still here, grinning like an idiot. It’s obvious that I didn’t keep any special feelings for him but for someone who’s willing to take care of me and told me to be careful whenever I go out from the house.

He paused at my sudden question and stopped eating.
‘You should know better yourself.’ He muttered without looking into my eyes. The atmosphere suddenly went cold since then. Did I ask a wrong question?
I was definitely puzzled at his answer. Didn’t dare to ask more, I just kept quiet until we arrived home. Such a distant guy that I wondered about his friends. Suddenly, I thought of the bright guy who came and left abruptly during our wedding party a few months ago. Now that I noticed it, he was the only guy who talked comfortably to him at that day, other than our families and relatives.
If they’re friends, they did seem close. I wondered how he and his other friends managed to handle his fluctuating attitude.

‘What are you doing?’ I looked up to that voice. It’s a little irritating that he got to enter my room without knocking. That night, I was about to try the knitting set that I bought earlier and I obviously didn’t have my privacy anymore when he suddenly entered my room.
‘Oh, just something for your mother.’
He suddenly took my hand that luckily, my fingers didn’t get pricked by the needle. Startled, I furrowed my brows also to show him that I wasn’t happy with his sudden actions. He then, took a spot beside me o
