This is Between You and Me

Wake Me Up (2)

The manager gestured for Yu Kwon to come over and look.  Yu Kwon glanced at me before jumping up to look at the screen.  I watched his face.  Assistant Sang Woo hopped up, joining the party staring at whatever marvel was on the computer screen.

I was frozen in place.  My eyes bore into Yu Kwon’s face.  He laughed.  I wanted to strangle him.  “I don’t believe it,” Yu Kwon murmured, copying his manager’s words.

My head was about to explode.  “Don’t. Believe. What,” I growled.

Yu Kwon laughed again when his manager turned the screen back to face me.  I jumped out of my seat to press my face right up into the screen.

My jaw dropped.  “I don’t believe it.”

Four photo boxes were opened.  The top two were the photos of Yu Kwon and the girl.  At first glance, I wanted to claw at Yu Kwon’s face because all of those jealous, irrational feelings were bubbling up again even though it had only been maybe five minutes since I’d first seen the newest photo, but then I saw the bottom two photo boxes.  And the feelings deflated like flat soda.

“Here and here…same.  Same Yu Kwon face,” I babbled more to myself.

One was just of Yu Kwon and the other was a group shot.

Except the Yu Kwon in the single shot and the Yu Kwon in the group shot were the same exact Yu Kwon as the Yu Kwon in the photos with that girl.

“They were photo shopped, weren’t they?” Yu Kwon asked excitedly, looking from the computer guy to the computer girl.

“They must have been,” the girl agreed.  She pointed to the new photo.  “If you look at the original photo of Yu Kwon in the group shot, you’ll see why that girl had to crop this photo so awkwardly.  Ji Hoon is right up next to him.  She had to crop it on an angle to fully cut him out and then zoom close to make sure it didn’t look fake.”

“But how did she get these photos?  I thought they weren’t released yet,” Yu Kwon mentioned, still staring at the photos.

His manager shrugged.  “Photos leak all over the internet all the time.  Songs, photos, videos, nothing is really kept under wraps for very long.  You know,” he lowered his eyes mysteriously.  “The only way for three people to keep a secret is if two of them are dead.”  The rest of us laughed.  “Upper management frowns upon us killing employees, so we just deal with the leaks,” he finished with another shrug.

“Well, at least this isn’t really a scandal now.  You can just fix this up, right?” I wondered curiously.

“Yes, of course, right?” Yu Kwon added.

“Of course,” the manager repeated, clapping slender Yu Kwon on the back.  “Don’t worry.  We will have this taken care of.  Sang Woo, have them write up an article for our fansites and the boys’ Daum page.  We’ll show all four photos and explain that it was just a…”  He tapped a finger to his cheek and looked up to the ceiling for a quick second.  “Ah!  We will say it was just an overzealous fan and a simple misunderstanding.  Make it sound casual, like it was no big deal, understand?”

Sang Woo nodded already inching out of the room and get on it.

Back in Yu Kwon’s room, after we explained to Ji Hoon what happened with the manager, Yu Kwon sat on the edge of his desk.  Wearing a smirk that I just knew was going to mean trouble for me.

“So, I’m glad that’s all cleared up,” he said casually.

“Yeah…” I sounded, sitting in the middle of his bed.  I pulled my knees up to my chest.

“Hm,” he sighed.  Then laughed, a quick and humorless laugh.  Eyes up, set on the ceiling, he continued, “Turns out some grudge-holding crazy girl got her hands on a couple of leaked Block b photos and she just so happened to be good at photo shopping.”

          “True.”

His eyes focused on me.  They narrowed and his expression turned cold.

“I never posed like that with another girl in any photos,” he said in monotone.

          “Right.”

He stood up and in a few short strides, he was standing in front of the bed.  I had to tilt my head up to look at him.  His arms crossed over his chest.

“I can’t remember now,” he mused, somewhat sarcastically.  “But I’m pretty sure I mentioned that I never let another girl touch me.  That I never would.  Especially not the way you touch me.”  His eyes scanned my face, lingering on my lips making my face flush rouge.

I bit my bottom lip.  “That’s true, too.  You did say that.”

“Ah, I did, you remember.  That’s good.”  His tone grew flat.

          “Yu Kwon…”

He bent at the waist to rest his weight on his arms, palms flat against the mattress, eyes in line with mine.

“You got yourself so worked up you damn near lost your mind over something that I told you was nothing.  Something that I told you was going to end up meaning nothing.”

He looked so angry and smug at the same time.  I couldn’t help but laugh a little.  He glared at me.  “I’m sorry, but Yu Kwon, you look so adorable when you’re mad like this.”  I leaned forward to meet his lips with mine for a quick kiss.  “I’m sorry I got so worked up over, well, everything.”

He nodded and pouted out his lower lip a little.  “And?”

          “And what?”

He smirked.  “I believe the next words out of your mouth should be, ‘And oppa let me make it up to you.”

I giggled.  “But I didn’t do anything wrong!  I just got a little paranoid and only slightly crazed.  You’re the one who was in photos with some other chick…”  A low growl came from deep in his throat causing me to laugh all over again.  “Plus, you’re only maybe two months older than me!  Oppa,” I scoffed.

“And?” he questioned, in a throaty tone.

“And oppa, let me make it up to you.”

He crawled forward onto the mattress.  Inching until I had to lean all the way back, laying flat, on the bed and he hovered over me.

It felt good to not have that nagging voice in my head anymore.  It felt nice to be able to kiss him and not picture him kissing someone else or see another girl with her hands all over him.

Something different bothered me now though.  Something that I needed to look into.

It took me a few days, but I found out that the grudge-holding crazy girl who got her hands on leaked Block b photos and just so happened to be good at photo shopping was a girl in the grade below us.  Her boyfriend was the captain of the soccer team and she worked after school three days a week as an English tutor.  Turns out her name is Yang Eun Mi.  She goes to a different international school.  Only nine subway stops from my school.  In fact, it was quite easy to get to her school.  No transfers.  Direct route.

          How convenient.

One day, I skipped my last period.  I speak English.  Do I really need to take English class?  Ok, maybe it is useful, but skipping one English class in my whole life won’t kill me.

Thursday.  One of the days Eun Mi was staying late to tutor.  International schools are full of Korean and western kids.  Sure there are security guards, but the after school guards don’t know every single student that goes there.  It’s almost too easy to slip in unnoticed and blend in seamlessly.

How convenient indeed, I thought as I got on the subway.

How do you come up with the cutest couples?! >_< Beki and Yu Kwon are so cute. The whole time I read this I was thinking "Noooo, Beki, don't listen to that stupid fan's words!" I'm amazed the ending was so tame. I thought for sure Beki was gonna beat Eun Mi down! XD I'm glad Beki and Yu Kwon solved their problem so quickly~ They had no apart time so that was great, hehe!
