CHAPTER 22

Taeyeon went missing.

Again.

I kind of expected that though. She must be in a real panic state if she did get back her memories.

To my surprise LT is already prepared for this.

“I installed a tracking device in her handphone.” LT grinned.

“You knew she would run away?”

“Half yes half no. I did predict that she will run away, but it’s my habit to track people too.” LT said with a straight face.

Creep!

“Alright I got her location.” LT said. “Guess where’s she?”

“Jeonju.” I answered.

“How did you know?”

“Just a hunch. It’s her hometown after all.” I grinned.

“Not bad.” LT smirked. “I shall go there tomorrow to get her back.”

“I’ll go with you. I am still on ‘holidays’ anyway.” I pointed to my 80% healed ankle.

“You’re going Jeonju alone?!” Sunny exclaimed.

“Manager oppa approved?” Hyoyeon asked.

“Unnie it’s dangerous your leg haven’t healed completely and it’s the rainy season now you may slip and die.” Seohyun commented.

“Seohyun!!!” The girls chided.

“I’m just telling the truth.” Seohyun pouted.

“It’s my sister’s birthday I already promised her that I will be back at home to celebrate with her.” I explained. “And I don’t need clutches now! Still limping a bit but I can breeze walk already.” I grinned.

The girls don’t look convinced.

“Err since Taeyeon has already promised her sister, just let her go fulfill her commitment. She’s our leader, she will take care of herself.” Yuri said, and gave me a smile.

Tiffany and Jessica remained silent.

“Ok. But if you get yourself into trouble, you’re dead!” Sooyoung threatened jokingly. “And remember to buy food for me!”

“Me too me too!” Yoona exclaimed.

I nodded.

I looked out of the window from my room. Hope everything will go smoothly tomorrow.

Someone nodded my door.

“Taengoo, can I come in?”

It’s Jessica.

…

“I want to apologize for pushing you; my jealousy got the better of me.” Sica bowed.

“It’s ok.” I smiled.

Jessica bit her lips.

“Are you going Jeonju to avoid us?” She asked.

“Of course not. Like I said it’s my sister’s birthday.”

“I remember your sister’s birthday is the same month as me, Taengoo.”

Now it’s already July. Oops.

“If you are avoiding us, you don’t have to do that. Tiffany and I had a good chat just now, we are good. And we reached a mutual agreement not to give you any pressure.” Sica gave a smile.

It looked rather forced though.

“Look I’m really not avoiding you 2. I have something important to do at Jeonju.”

“Taengoo, please don’t lie..”

“I need to do this, for everyone, just trust me.” I said, while looking straight into her eyes. “And for you..” I murmured.

Jessica stared at me for a while.

Then she leaned forward and hugged me.

“Just be careful, ok?”

She pulled away from the hug and looked deep into my eyes.

“Taeyeon ah!” Sunny’s high pitched voice rang into my ears as she came in. “Omg! Are you two going to kiss?”

My face turned red.

“Lee Sunkyu!” Sica growled.

Sunny gulped.

I chuckled.

“Sunny ah what’s the matter?” I asked.

“Just wanna ask if you need any help with packing your luggage.” Sunny grinned.

“I packed already, I’m an adult now, don’t worry.”

“You’re always a dorky kid to me!” Sunny pinched my cheeks.

“Yah!” I pouted.

“Baby face squishy milky skin leader!” Sica teased.

“Midget with an ahjumma laugh and !” Sunny added.

“Yah! Who’s calling who a midget?” I gave Sunny a small punch on her shoulder.

“I’m not a midget I’m just fun sized!” Sunny pouted.

I smiled.

Taeyeon ah, stop running away from people who care so much for you.

…

“So where’s she?” I asked LT, who was driving.

“XX hotel. Sooyeon I think you might just hit the jackpot.”

“Why?”

“XX hotel is very near to her house in Jeonju. It is a psychological thing to live in some place that’s near your love ones, especially when you can’t see them face to face.”

“I see.”

...

LT got her room number (in some way that he refused to tell).

Room 309.

I took in a deep breath before knocking the door.

“Who that?”

It’s my voice.

“She inside?” LT whispered.

I nodded.

“Room service.” LT said using a high pitched voice.

“Coming.” Taeyeon replied.

The moment she opened the door, I did something unexpected.

I punched her face with all my strength.

…

Taeyeon lied on the floor groaning in pain.

“Oh my god Sooyeon. Are you mad? That’s your own face you’re punching!” LT immediately helped Taeyeon up.

I looked at my fist in bewilderment. Did I just punch my bias? And she has my face. That means, I just broke my own nose. Oh great.

But I don’t regret it at all.

“Did you get back all your memories?” I shouted.

Taeyeon looked away, nodding.

“And you just ran away again? You coward! What do you take me for? Your rubbish bin? Your shield? What about those who care for you? Don’t you care about them? You might as well just take my body back to US and don’t ever come back!!” I yelled, venting out all my anger.

“Sorry..” Taeyeon’s voice croaked, her head hung low.

I took in a deep breath to regain my composure.

“I’ll go get a coffee.” I said to LT.

He nodded.

…

I stared into space.

“Sooyeon.” Taeyeon sat beside me.

Her nose looked swollen.

“Sorry. I don’t know what happened to me just now.”

“No. I deserved that.”

“Why did you run away again?” I asked.

“I got scared. All my feelings came back.” Taeyeon confessed

“What feelings?”

Taeyeon paused a while before continuing.

“Actually, Tiffany is not the only cause for my accident. Jessica is a reason too.”
