Chapter 6

 

 

Sungmin was walking happily at the courtyard garden of Shilla Hotel. She was walking elegantly while listening to the party coordinators who are explaining to her the complete details of her engagement party with Jongwoon and the design of the place. Sungmin nods, agreeing to them

 

“Just do the right thing. Excuse me for awhile”

 

They bow at Sungmin and walks towards the people assigned in designing the place. Sungmin turns around and look at Jongwoon who is sitting on the chair, spacing out

 

“What’s wrong with him?”

 

Sungmin sighs and starts walking towards her fiancé. Jongwoon was thinking about Ryeowook. It’s been a week since he last saw and talked to Ryeowook. After the night that he talked with Ryeowook at the roof of her house, Jongwoon never show his face in front of Ryeowook again. He never goes at Mouse Rabbit or at the library. He stops ordering his favorite Espresso Roast. He keeps his self busy about his work and Sungmin. He did all of that to avoid Ryeowook. He never answers her call and text messages. He forces his self to forget Ryeowook, but he just can’t do it. Every time that he’s with Sungmin all he can think about is Ryeowook. He tries his best to love Sungmin, but he just can’t do it. He loves Ryeowook and not Sungmin. He loves Sungmin as a friend and a little sister

 

“Honey”

 

Sungmin sits beside Jongwoon. She stares at him and notice his sad face

 

“Jongwoon honey”

 

Jongwoon didn’t speak. He remains quiet as he thinks so deep. Jongwoon wants to run away and escape from his chaotic life. He’s so tired of following his father. He wants to live his life as a normal person and not as Kim Jongwoon who always follow every single command that his father wants for him

 

“Honey”

 

Sungmin holds Jongwoon’s face between her hands and force him to look at her. Sungmin gives Jongwoon a sweet peck on his lips and stares at him worriedly while brushing her fingers gently on Jongwoon’s gorgeous face

 

“Honey, is there something wrong? You look sad and it seems that something is bothering you”

 

Jongwoon looks at Sungmin and shook his head. He manages to smile to take Sungmin’s worry away

 

“I’m worried about you”

 

“I’m sorry Minnie”

 

Jongwoon hugs Sungmin

 

“I’m just thinking a lot of things”

 

“About?”

 

“About work, our wedding, our engagement later and I’m just tired”

 

Sungmin stares at Jongwoon sadly

 

“Are you not happy about our engagement later?”

 

“Of course I’m happy. Every man will be happy if you’re the girl that they are going to marry”

 

Jongwoon smiles and kissed Sungmin’s forehead

 

“Don’t think too much Minnie or else you’ll stress yourself and that will make you ugly later. I don’t want to have an ugly wife”

 

Jongwoon teases Sungmin. He laughs softly making Sungmin pouts

 

“Jongwoon! I’m not ugly”

 

Jongwoon cups Sungmin’s beautiful face and brushes his nose from hers

 

“I’m just kidding Minnie. Of course you’re beautiful. Very beautiful”

 

“I love you Jongwoon”

 

Jongwoon just smiles at Sungmin. He stares at his watch

 

“I need to go Minnie. I’ll just see you later at home”

 

“Do you really need to go to your office today? This day is our engagement day. Why do you need to work?”

 

“I have a meeting”

 

Jongwoon lied. The truth is, he doesn’t want to stay home with Sungmin. He actually wants to be alone and think. He wants to relax his mind from thinking about his engagement celebration with Sungmin and free his mind from thinking about their upcoming wedding next year

 

“I promise to go home early to prepare for our engagement later”

 

“But Jongwoon…”

 

Jongwoon holds Sungmin’s lips to stop her from talking

 

“Minnie, please understand. I’ll see you later ok?”

 

“Arasso”

 

Sungmin smiles and kissed Jongwoon’s lips, but he didn’t respond to it. Sungmin stares at Jongwoon sadly

 

“Be safe”

 

“You too Minnie. Call me when you’re already home, so I won’t be worried about you”

 

Sungmin nods. Jongwoon kissed her forehead and stands up. Sungmin waves her hand. Jongwoon smiles and walks away

 

“I’m going to do everything for you to love me Jongwoon. I will take that girl away from your mind and I’ll make sure that I will make her life miserable. I’ll use her against you”

 

Sungmin whispers. She flashes her evil smile as she watches Jongwoon walking away

 

 

 

Zhoumi arrives at Mouse Rabbit. He saw Mrs. Lau, Henry, Donghae, Eunhyuk and Sunny all staring at the television with wide eyes open. They can’t believe the news about Jongwoon’s engagement to Sungmin

 

“OMO! This is bad. How about Wookie?”

 

Mrs. Lau asks them worriedly. They just shook their head while staring at the television sadly. Zhoumi walks towards them. He coughs to catch their attention

 

“Excuse me, can I disturb you guys?”

 

Zhoumi asks them. They nod at him while staring at the television

 

“Manager Mimi, do you know about Mr. Kim’s engagement to the famous and very beautiful model and daughter of a very famous CEO worldwide?”

 

Donghae asks Zhoumi while staring at the television. He was staring at Sungmin. They are watching the replay of the press con of Jongwoon and Sungmin about their engagement that will happen on that day at the courtyard garden of Shilla Hotel

 

“Wait a second Hyukkie honey. Remember the day when Mr. Kim went here with Lee Sungmin?”

 

Donghae asks his boyfriend who nods at him while his eyes are still focused at the television

 

“Mr. Kim shook his head, right?”

 

“Yes my honey Hae”

 

Henry looks at Donghae curiously

 

“So what if he shook his head at both of you?”

 

Donghae looks at Henry and flicks his forehead

 

“That only means that Lee Sungmin is not his girlfriend or something. I mean, my honey Hyukkie and I stare at him with a big question if Lee Sungmin is his girlfriend because they we’re holding each other’s hand at that time. Mr. Kim understands everything through eye contact and he shook his head as an answer. Get that Don Mochie Boy?”

 

“Then how come they are going to get married earlier next year? If Lee Sungmin is not Mr. Kim’s girlfriend then how come tonight is their engagement celebration and she’s already Mr. Kim’s fiancée?”

 

Henry asks Donghae curiously. They all stare at Donghae and Eunhyuk, asking for a clear explanation because they are also confused about the situation and they feel sad for Ryeowook who is still innocent about Jongwoon and Sungmin’s engagement that will happen on that day

 

“Well…”

 

Donghae and Eunhyuk look at each other before shaking their head

 

“I know the reason why”

 

Zhoumi told them. They all stare at Zhoumi who is holding a lot of newspapers and magazines

 

“How did you know about that?”

 

Mrs. Lau asks Zhoumi

 

“Ahjumma, don’t forget that Siwon is the cousin of Jongwoon. Siwon is my best buddy that’s why I know what’s going on about that engagement between Jongwoon and Lee Sungmin”

 

They stare at Zhoumi curiously, waiting for his explanation. Zhoumi moves closer to them and start talking in a low voice

 

“Promise to keep it a secret?”

 

They all nod at Zhoumi. They focused their eyes upon him. They didn’t even blink and never dare to take away their sight

 

“Siwon told me that Jongwoon and Lee Sungmin are childhood friends. Lee Sungmin loves Jongwoon so much, but the problem is Jongwoon only loves her as a friend and little sister. Jongwoon’s father Kim Youngwoon is Mr. Lee’s best friend and they arrange Jongwoon’s marriage to Lee Sungmin”

 

They nod at Zhoumi

 

“But Manager Mimi, if Mr. Kim doesn’t love Lee Sungmin then why did he agree about the arrange marriage?”

 

Sunny asks Zhoumi curiously while the rest nod, agreeing to her

 

“That’s because Jongwoon is his father’s puppet. He always follows everything that his father told him. Mr. Kim never allows Jongwoon to decide on his own. He controls Jongwoon’s life and he will do everything to get what he wants even though he ends up hurting his own son”

 

“I feel sorry for that boy. No wonder he is snobbish, grumpy, and serious and he never smiles at all”

 

Mrs. Lau told Zhoumi sadly

 

“Are you going to their engagement later?”

 

Zhoumi nods his head

 

“Jongwoon invites me and Siwon wants me to be there”

 

“What are we going to do? How about Wookie?”

 

Zhoumi shook his head sadly

 

“I’m sure that our Wookie will be very sad once she finds out about it. But then we can’t do anything about it because they are very powerful and influential people. We will never win against them and beside…”

 

Zhoumi sighs sadly

 

“Our Wookie is not Jongwoon-ah’s girlfriend and they don’t have any relationship at all. Wookie loves him, but we don’t know if Jongwoon love our Wookie too. Their relationship is not clear at all. They are not even friends. They are just acquainted to each other. That’s all”

 

They all nod sadly, agreeing to Zhoumi

 

“What is that Manager Mimi?”

 

Eunhyuk asks while pointing his finger on the newspapers and magazines that Zhoumi was holding

 

“These are some newspapers and magazines about Jongwoon’s engagement to Lee Sungmin. They are all over the news. I bet Wookie already knows about it by now”

 

Eunhyuk and Donghae shook their head

 

“That girl doesn’t even have TV at home. She doesn’t even buy newspapers or magazines because she’s saving her money for her study. She’s always alone in school and she always focuses her attention in studying. She doesn’t have time to listen to that kind of news and she’s just too innocent”

 

Eunhyuk explains to Zhoumi. He grabs a magazines and starts scanning it. He was staring at Jongwoon and Sungmin’s picture when Sunny shouts

 

“WOOKIE! SHE’S COMING!”

 

They immediately hide all the newspapers and magazines so Ryeowook won’t see it. Henry grabs the remote and manages to turn off the television just in time before Ryeowook can see the news

 

“Hi Wookie”

 

They greet Ryeowook happily. But their smile vanished upon seeing her sad face

 

“Sweetheart, what happen to you?”

 

Mrs. Lau asks Ryeowook nervously. Ryeowook just shook her head

 

“Is there something wrong in school?”

 

Ryeowook shook her head again

 

“Then why are you like that?”

 

Ryeowook shook her head sadly for the third time. Mrs. Lau cups Ryeowook’s sad face and holds her face between her hands

 

“Sweetheart, we’re worried about you. We know when you have problems. Don’t forget that we’re family here. The problem of one member is the problem of all. Please tell us, what happen? What is your problem? We’re here to comfort you and help you”

 

Ryeowook stares at them with teary eyes

 

“I’m fine. I just miss Jongwoon Oppa”

 

They stare at Ryeowook sadly as she hugs Mrs. Lau, controlling her tears from falling

 

“I can’t understand why he’s no longer coming here. He doesn’t want Espresso Roast anymore. He’s not even answering my calls and my text messages. I don’t know why. I didn’t remember doing anything or maybe I really hurt him that night”

 

They stare at Ryeowook curiously. Ryeowook stares at Donghae and Eunhyuk

 

“Guys, can you still remember the day wherein Jongwoon went here with a girl?”

 

Donghae and Eunhyuk nod at her

 

“Actually, on that night, Jongwoon visits me at home and he was so sad. He shares some of his problems to me and all his pain about his parents. I actually confess to him about my true feelings. I told him that I love him”

 

Their eyes widened as they stare at Ryeowook with a shock expression

 

“But…”

 

“But?”

 

Zhoumi asks curiously

 

“Before I confess, Jongwoon Oppa told me that he loves someone else”

 

Ryeowook told them sadly

 

“Does he tell you who the girl he loves is?”

 

Ryeowook shook her head

 

“He didn’t tell me. All he told me is, he can’t love that girl because their world is far from each other. I told Oppa that I love him, but I told him that things will never work between us because he’s a prince and I’m a beggar. That’s the truth and he loves someone else. I just feel sad because he’s not showing his face in front of me for about a week. I’m just worried because I think I hurt him that night. I’m not supposed to talk to him like that and tell him harsh words. I’m just jealous of the girl he loves and because of that I end up hurting him. Why am I so stupid?”

 

Ryeowook sighs sadly

 

“Sweetheart”

 

Mrs. Lau starts Ryeowook’s hair gently

 

“Is that the only reason why you’re upset?”

 

Ryeowook nods sadly

 

“Why Ahjumma? Is there something else? Are you going to fire me or what?”

 

Ryeowook asks Mrs. Lau nervously. She smiles at Ryeowook and shook her head

 

“Of course I’m not going to fire you. Why will I do that? I’m just asking because you tend to hide something from us because you don’t want us to worry about you”

 

“I’m not hiding anything Ahjumma, unless you guys are the one who is hiding something from me”

 

They all shook their head, acting normal. They smile at Ryeowook

 

“Don’t worry. Maybe Jongwoon is just busy. You know him. He’s a very famous and great CEO just like his father. Maybe he’s out of the country doing some business. He’ll show up soon”

 

Zhoumi told Ryeowook while forcing a smile. Ryeowook shook her head

 

“Manager Mimi, it’s ok. I don’t have the right to act like this. He doesn’t love me and there’s nothing special between us. We just know each other. We’re not even friends or something”

 

Ryeowook sighs sadly

 

“I’m going to start working now”

 

Ryeowook manage to smile though she feels so sad. She went inside the kitchen to work

 

“At least she doesn’t know anything about the engagement. It will be very painful for her if she finds out about it. Maybe Jongwoon is just avoiding Wookie because he knows that Wookie loves him. He just don’t want to hurt her knowing that he’s getting married soon”

 

Zhoumi sighs

 

“Ok. Let’s just go back to our work. Just don’t mention anything to Wookie and I’ll lock those magazines and newspapers in my car”

 

Zhoumi gets the newspapers and magazines inside the big basket under the counter

 

“Let’s just act normal and pretend that we don’t know anything. Let’s get back to work before Wookie gets suspicious. I’ll be back. I’ll just put these magazines and newspapers in my car”

 

Zhoumi told them before going out. They just stare at each other and sigh sadly before going back to work

 

 

 

 

Jongwoon opens the door of his office angrily

 

“MS. HWANG!!! MR. SHIM!!!”

 

Changmin and Stephanie jumps off their sit and stares at their boss nervously. Jongwoon was frowning so hard while shooting them a serious glare

 

“WHAT THE ING HELL IS THAT?”

 

Jongwoon shouts angrily as he throws a lot of folders on the floor

 

“ARE YOU REALLY STUPID? DO YOU REALLY WANT TO TEST MY TEMPER?”

 

Jongwoon asks them angrily. Stephanie and Changmin remain quiet, feeling so scared and nervous

 

“ANSWER ME! I’M NOT TALKING TO MUTE PEOPLE!!! WHY ARE YOU GUYS SO STUPID?”

 

Stephanie’s heart jumps because of fear when Jongwoon punches the portrait that was hanging on the wall, breaking the glass, making his hand bleed. Changmin’s body freezes as he gulps nervously

 

“Mr…Mr…K…Mr…Kim”

 

Stephanie’s voice starts trembling as she stares at Jongwoon nervously. Jongwoon kicks the folders away

 

“HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO TELL BOTH OF YOU TO GIVE ME THE COPY OF THE REVISE BUSINESS PROPOSAL OF M&H CORPORATION AND SEOUL TELECOMMUNICATION?”

 

Stephanie and Changmin remains quiet making Jongwoon’s blood goes up on his head

 

“I WANT THE REVISE BUSINESS PROPOSALS WITHIN TWO HOURS! IF YOU CAN’T GIVE IT THAT TO ME THEN YOU BETTER PACK ALL YOUR THINGS NOW! I DON’T NEED STUPID SECRETARIES! SERIOUSLY, HOW DID YOU ABLE TO GRADUATE IF DOGS ARE SMARTER THAN BOTH OF YOU?”

 

Jongwoon told them angrily. He focused his eyes upon Changmin

 

“MR. SHIM!”

 

Changmin jumps and looks at Jongwoon

 

“Yes Mr. Kim?”

 

Changmin controls his voice from trembling because he knew that his career will be put to an end if he will not speak properly. Jongwoon really hates it when someone talks to him in a trembling voice because he can’t understand what they are talking about because he can’t hear it clearly and properly

 

“WHAT DID I TELL YOU YESTERDAY?”

 

Changmin pause for a moment to think. He stares at his boss with fear in his eyes while recalling all the things that Jongwoon told him yesterday, but unfortunately he can’t remember anything because his mind is racing out of fear and nervousness

 

“I…I’m sorry Mr. Kim, but I can’t remember”

 

Changmin told Jongwoon nervously. Jongwoon raised his eyebrow

 

“You can’t remember? Do you also want me to forget that you’re working here at Kim Corporation?”

 

Changmin shook his head and bows his head, avoiding Jongwoon’s serious glare

 

“I DIDN’T TELL YOU TO BOW YOUR HEAD! LOOK AT ME YOU STUPID SECRETARY!”

 

Changmin raised his head and stares at Jongwoon with teary eyes

 

“I’m going to help you remember what I tell you yesterday”

 

Jongwoon clenches his fist because of anger

 

“I TOLD YOU TO BRING THE DOCUMENTS ABOUT THE PROPOSED BUDGET FOR THE EXTENSION OF CHOI CORPORATION AT TAIWAN. I TOLD YOU TO GIVE THAT TO MY COUSIN’S SECRETARY BECAUSE SIWON NEEDS IT TODAY!”

 

Changmin’s eyes widened as he remembers it

 

“My cousin’s secretary calls me, asking me about that. I told you to give it to her because I’m already done reviewing it. Are you deaf, retarded or you’re just really stupid? Which is which?”

 

“I’m sorry Mr. Kim. I just forget about it because I have to do a lot of things”

 

Jongwoon smirks

 

“You have to do a lot of things? Don’t give me that lame excuse Mr. Shim! ALL OF US ARE BUSY AND WE HAVE A LOT OF THINGS TO DO!!! IT’S NOT A REASON FOR YOU TO FORGET WHAT I TOLD YOU TO DO!!!”

 

Jongwoon shouts, releasing his anger

 

“START DOING YOUR WORK AND DO IT PROPERLY! I’M NOT PAYING YOU GUYS TO BE STUPID AND GIVE ME HEAD ACHE! IF YOU CAN’T COMPLY TO EVERYTHING THAT I’M TELLING YOU TO DO THEN YOU ARE FREE TO LEAVE MY COMPANY! KIM CORPORATION DOESN’T NEED STUPID AND BRAINLESS PEOPLE LIKE YOU MS. HWANG AND MR. SHIM!!!”

 

Jongwoon shouts angrily while staring at Stephanie and Changmin whose tears are about to fall, feeling so degraded and scared at the same time

 

“DAMN IT! BOTH OF YOU ARE ALWAYS RUINING MY DAY! WHEN WILL YOU GUYS LEARN OR THERE’S NO CHANCE AT ALL BECAUSE BOTH OF YOU ARE STUPID?”

 

Jongwoon shoots them a deadly glare before going out of the room, banging the door as hard as he can. Stephanie stares at Changmin while her knees start trembling

 

“What’s wrong with our Mr. Snobbish? He’s not like that before. He gets mad at us, but he never degrade us like this”

 

Stephanie’s tears slowly fall down from her eyes. She feels so hurt on what Jongwoon told them. Changmin hugs her, comforting her

 

“Seriously, it seems that Mr. Snobbish has a very big problem that he’s keeping by his self. Do you think he just have a fight with Medusa?”

 

Stephanie shook her head and wipes her tears

 

“He’s been like that for a week. His blood always boil so easy and he gets mad so easily lately. He also gets mad at us and to other employees all the time even though the reason is just simple. Mr. Snobbish is not like that”

 

“I’m just wondering Noona, why is Mr. Snobbish here? He’s supposed to be preparing for his engagement later, right?”

 

Stephanie shook her head

 

“I think there’s something going on with that engagement because Mr. Snobbish becomes like that since…”

 

Stephanie raised her hand to stop Changmin from talking

 

“Let’s get back to work. He gives us two hours to give him the revise business proposal of M&H Corporation and Seoul Telecommunication. Let’s not meddle with his private life. We need to mind our own business if we don’t want to lose our job. Mr. Snobbish really do what he says”

 

“Arasso Noona”

 

Stephanie takes a deep breath and return to her seat and starts working again. Changmin just sighs and returns to his seat. He grabs the telephone to call Siwon’s secretary and talk to her about the documents that Siwon was asking

 

 

 

Ryeowook was sitting at her living room while thinking about Jongwoon. She dials Jongwoon’s number again

 

“Your call has been transferred to a voice mailbox number”

 

Ryeowook hangs up and sighs sadly

 

“I just want to say sorry, but I guess he doesn’t want to talk to me anymore”

 

Ryeowook lay down on the sofa while staring at the ceiling, controlling her tears from falling

 

“I don’t have the right to feel like this. I also don’t have the right to disturb him and ask for an explanation because he’s not my boyfriend. We’re not even friends. We only know each other through that blind date. That’s all”

 

Ryeowook’s tears start falling from her eyes

 

“We talk, but it doesn’t mean that we’re close. Pabo! Kim Ryeowook, why are you crying? You don’t have the right to cry and feel hurt because you’re nothing and you’re even special to him”

 

Ryeowook wipes her tears when she heard a knock on the door. She immediately stands up, hoping that it was Jongwoon. Ryeowook smiles brightly and opens the door, but her smile suddenly vanished when she saw a mailman and not Jongwoon

 

“Is this the house of Ms. Kim Ryeowook?”

 

Ryeowook nods at him

 

“I’m Kim Ryeowook. Is there something that I can do for you?”

 

The mailman hands her a small white envelope

 

“Mr. Kim Jongwoon wants to give that to you. Please sign here”

 

The mailman gives Ryeowook a paper. Ryeowook stares at the mailman before signing on the paper

 

“Thank you”

 

The mailman bows his head before leaving. Ryeowook closed the door and stares at the white envelope

 

“Jongwoon wants to give this to me? What exactly is this?”

 

Ryeowook opens the envelop excitedly. She stares at the paper and unfolds it

 

Wookie…

 

I need you to come at the courtyard garden of Shilla Hotel today. I’m going to wait for you. Seven in the evening. Just show the card and they will let you enter

Ryeowook gets the small business card of Jongwoon inside the envelope

 

“Finally, he wants to talk to me now. I’m going to apologize and explain myself to him”

 

Ryeowook smiles and stares at her watch

 

“Aigoo! I need to hurry. It’s already 4:30PM”

 

Ryeowook immediately run upstairs to go inside her room and prepares herself for her meeting with Jongwoon at Shilla Hotel

 

 

 

 

“What are you doing here?”

 

Jongwoon asks his mother seriously upon seeing her at the house, having a happy chat with Sungmin at the living room

 

“I’m your mother. I have the right to be here”

 

“Mother? I didn’t remember having a mom like you. Where is your other man?”

 

Teukie slaps her son

 

“Don’t ever call him like that. Yunho is my husband”

 

“Kim Youngwoon is also your husband, but you choose to divorce him so you can abandon me”

 

“That’s not true”

 

“Not true?”

 

Jongwoon’s tears start forming in his eyes because of his anger towards his mother

 

“Tell me Park Jungsoo, what did you do when I beg you not to leave me? You just push me away and leave this house without even saying anything. You and Kim Youngwoon never love me because if you do, you will never get a divorce”

 

“You don’t understand sweetheart”

 

“I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT?”

 

Sungmin walks towards Jongwoon to stop him from arguing with Teukie

 

“Honey, just go upstairs now and prepare yourself for our engagement”

 

Jongwoon ignores Sungmin as he stares at his mother seriously

 

“How dare you show your face in front of me Park Jungsoo? Where is your conscience when you abandon your seven year old son? I was seven back then when you left me without saying anything. I was seven back then when YOU CHOOSE YOUR OTHER MAN MORE THAN YOUR OWN SON!!! How dare you show your face in front of me after 19 years? 19 years Park Jungsoo! I long for a mother’s care for ing 19 years!!! How can you tell me that you’re my mother when you abandon me? I DON’T NEED YOU IN MY LIFE!!!”

 

Jongwoon told Teukie while staring at her seriously, controlling his tears from falling. Sungmin holds Jongwoon’s hand and notice the bandage wrapped around his right hand

 

“Honey, what happen to you?”

 

Sungmin asks Jongwoon worriedly. Jongwoon shook his head

 

“Honey, I’m aski—“

 

“SHUT UP!”

 

Jongwoon shouts at Sungmin making her heart jumps. She stares at Jongwoon nervously

 

“Honey…”

 

“I told you to shut your mouth Lee Sungmin! Stop bothering me because I’m getting so irritated with you! I’m ok. Stop asking too much question and stop nagging around”

 

Jongwoon pushes Sungmin away from him before running upstairs, leaving Teukie and Sungmin at the living room

 

“Umma, what’s wrong with Jongwoon?”

 

Sungmin’s tears start falling from her eyes. Teukie wipes it away and hugs her tight

 

“Maybe Jongwoon is just tired. Just let him be alone. He’ll be fine soon”

 

Teukie holds Sungmin’s beautiful face between her hands and smiles at her

 

“Don’t cry sweetheart or else you’ll be ugly later. You need to prepare yourself now. Jongwoon will be ok. Don’t think too much. Go to your room now and take a bath. Your make-up artist and hair stylist will be here soon”

 

Sungmin nods at Teukie. She smiles at her soon to be mother in law and went upstairs. Teukie sighs and sits on the sofa. She rubs her forehead

 

“What am I going to do with that boy? How can he grow up like that? Why he is so arrogant and hard headed? What did Youngwoon told our son? I bet he told my Jongwoonie to hate me and hold grudge on me for leaving him here with his father. Jongwoon is no longer the cheerful kid that I know. Oh well, how will I know him if I’m not the one who raised him?”

 

Teukie sighs. She stands up and went upstairs to prepare herself for her son’s engagement

Sungmin and Jongwoon start greeting their guests as they arrived at the venue of their engagement celebration. Jongwoon introduces Sungmin to his friends, colleagues, business partners and CEOs. They all admire Sungmin’s wonderful beauty and they all think that Jongwoon is really lucky to have a wife who is so elegant, smart, y, beautiful and such a goddess of beauty, famous and rich; all the quality of a woman that a man was looking to a girl can all be found at Sungmin; a very famous model and daughter of the well known CEO worldwide. Who wouldn’t want her to be his wife? Of course all men will do everything to become Lee Sungmin’s husband and Kim Jongwoon is the luckiest guy because he will be Sungmin’s husband soon

Sungmin drags Jongwoon at the corner after introducing him to some of her famous model friends and to her manager

 

“Honey…”

 

Sungmin holds Jongwoon’s face between her hands. Jongwoon looks at Sungmin and notice her sad face

 

“What’s wrong with you? Why are you like that? I notice you spacing out and just nodding at my friends. It seems that you don’t even have any interest on knowing and meeting them. Are you sick?”

 

Jongwoon shook his head

 

“Then why are you like that? I can’t understand you. Are you not happy tonight? Honey, this is our engagement celebration, but it seems that I’m the only one celebrating it. You don’t look happy at all and I’m worried. Is there something that bothers you?”

 

Jongwoon shook his head again and pulls Sungmin to him, hugging her tight

 

“I’m sorry Minnie. I’m just thinking about Umma”

 

Jongwoon lied

 

“I really hate to see her and her other man. I can’t understand why she needs to be here”

 

“Honey…”

 

Sungmin stares at Jongwoon sadly because she can feel Jongwoon’s anger towards his mother. Sungmin gently brushes her fingers on Jongwoon’s gorgeous face

 

“Teukie Umma is still your mom no matter what happen. Just let her be a part of this night. She wants to celebrate it with you. She loves you so much, please believe me”

 

“Let’s not talk about it anymore. What is important is”

 

Jongwoon manage to flash a bright smile. He holds Sungmin’s hand and kissed it

 

“We’re celebrating our engagement tonight and you’re happy”

 

Sungmin pouts

 

“You’re not even happy”

 

Jongwoon flicks Sungmin’s forehead and brushes his nose from hers

 

“Who told you that I’m not happy? Of course I am happy because you’re happy my honey Minnie”

 

Jongwoon told Sungmin while smiling brightly at her. Sungmin gives Jongwoon a sweet peck on his lips before wrapping her arms around his neck. Jongwoon holds her waist and stares at Sungmin’s very beautiful face and her bright smile

 

“Honey, I’m the happiest girl because you’re going to be my husband. I bet every girls will envy me starting tonight because you’re mine”

 

Jongwoon nods at Sungmin

 

“I’m yours Minnie”

 

“Jongwoon, you know, I want us to have one baby boy and two baby girls”

 

“It’s still early for us to talk about it”

 

“I’m just telling you”

 

“You’ll grow big if you’ll give birth to three babies”

 

Jongwoon teases Sungmin

 

“So?”

 

“How about your career as a model?”

 

“I don’t care about that. I’ve decided to focus myself to you and to our kids when we get married. Maybe after a year, we can have our first baby. I just need to finish some of my projects before I say farewell to my career as a model”

 

“But Minnie…”

 

Sungmin holds Jongwoon’s lips

 

“I need to say farewell to my modeling career because I need to start my career as a wife and mother. That will be the best career as a woman”

 

Sungmin smiles at Jongwoon before kissing his lips

 

“Let’s go Minnie. I think our fathers will already introduce us formally at the guests”

 

Jongwoon holds Sungmin’s hand tightly and they walk together towards their parents

 

 

 

Ryeowook arrives at Shilla Hotel. People are staring at her because she’s wearing a simple jeans and shirt and pair of sneakers

 

“I think I’m lost. But the receptionist told the guard to bring me here when I show her Jongwoon Oppa’s business card”

 

Ryeowook’s heart start beating fast and she starts to feel embarrass because of the way the people stare at her. She even heard some of them whispering about her, thinking that she’s a gatecrasher. Sulli spotted Ryeowook. She flashes an evil smile and walks towards her

 

“Hi Ryeowook-shi, what are you doing here?”

 

Sulli asks Ryeowook, pretending that she doesn’t know anything when in fact she and Sungmin plan to invite Ryeowook to witness the engagement celebration of Jongwoon to Sungmin. She pretends that she doesn’t know what’s going on when the truth she’s the one who made the letter and sends it at Ryeowook’s house with Jongwoon’s business card. She and Sungmin plan it very well

 

“Sulli-shi, this is Jongwoon Oppa’s business card right?”

 

Ryeowook shows Sulli Jongwoon’s business card

 

“Jongwoon Oppa? Since when did a beggar like you become so close with my cousin?”

 

Sulli asks Ryeowook, mocking her

 

“Are you even invited here?”

 

“Well, Jongwoon Oppa was the one who told me to go here. He sends me a letter and his business card”

 

Sulli laughs softly

 

“I see. Jongwoon Oppa invites you here so you can witness his engagement with Minnie Unnie”

 

“Engagement?”

 

Sulli nods her head happily and points at Jongwoon and Sungmin who are happily holding each other’s hand while Youngwoon introduce them to the crowd. Media people start taking photos of them. Ryeowook’s tears start forming in her eyes because she feels so hurt that Jongwoon make her look like a fool and for not telling her that he’s already engage. She feels so betrayed because Jongwoon told her that Sungmin is just his childhood friend. She can’t believe that Jongwoon lie to her and she can’t understand why Jongwoon needs to do that

 

“You didn’t even dress formally. Well, what can we expect to a beggar like you?”

 

Sulli told Ryeowook before walking away. Sulli walks towards Sungmin after the couple’s toast and whisper to her that Ryeowook already arrives at the venue and she witness everything. Sungmin smiles

 

“Honey”

 

Jongwoon looks at Sungmin

 

“I just need to talk to someone. A very special guest has arrive”

 

“Who?”

 

Sungmin just smiles at Jongwoon. She gives him a sweet peck before walking away. Jongwoon stares at Sungmin who walks towards someone. His eyes widened upon seeing Ryeowook. He was about to walk towards Sungmin and Ryeowook when Youngwoon hold his arm

 

“Jongwoon, I need to introduce you to my business partner. He’s from Australia. He wants to meet you”

 

“But Appa, wait a second. I just”

 

“Kim Jongwoon, you can do that later. He needs to talk to you because he needs to leave now”

 

Youngwoon drags Jongwoon with him. Sungmin smiles at Ryeowook and drags her towards her model friends

 

“Hi guys, I want to introduce a very special guest tonight. She’s a friend of mine and her name is Kim Ryeowook”

 

Sungmin holds Ryeowook’s hand, pulling her in front of her friends. They all stare at Ryeowook and laugh at her

 

“I’m sorry if she dresses that way because she’s a beggar. Wookie is a poor girl, so she doesn’t even know an elite social gathering like this and she doesn’t even know anything about rich people and fashion because she’s a beggar”

 

Sungmin smiles when she notices Ryeowook’s teary eyes while she and her friends are making fun of Ryeowook

 

“She has a great desire towards my Jongwoonie because she’s a social climber girl”

 

Sungmin smiles and pours her wine on Ryeowook’s head

 

“Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry sweetheart. I think you need to take a bath because…”

 

Sungmin stares at Ryeowook while flashing a sarcastic smile

 

“No matter what you do, Jongwoon will never love you because he already has me. We’re getting married soon. Don’t worry because I’ll invite you in our wedding and I’ll send you a very expensive and beautiful cocktail dress that you can wear, so you won’t look so pity. But I bet, no matter how I dress you with expensive clothes, you will still look like a beggar because you can never erase that fact. You don’t belong in our society. An orphan and beggar girl like you…”

 

Sungmin stops talking when someone holds her arm tightly

 

“What the hell are you doing?”

 

Jongwoon whispers to her. Sungmin smiles at her fiancé

 

“Honey, it’s good that you’re here. I’m actually going to introduce our special guest, but I bet you already know her because she’s a ing …”

 

Sungmin stops talking when Jongwoon tighten his grip. He pulls Sungmin away from Ryeowook. He gets his handkerchief and wipes Ryeowook’s face, but she pushes Jongwoon away from her. Ryeowook drops her head and starts walking away. She bumps into someone causing her to fall on the floor. Some people look at her, giving her a glare. Zhoumi was shock to see Ryeowook

 

“Who invites Wookie here?”

 

Zhoumi asks Siwon who shook his head blankly. Jongwoon runs towards Ryeowook to help her stand, but Ryeowook just push him away. She stands on her own and immediately leaves the venue. Jongwoon was about to follow Ryeowook outside, but Sungmin holds his arm to stop him

 

“Jongwoon honey”

 

Jongwoon pushes Sungmin away and run outside to follow Ryeowook. Zhoumi was about to follow them, but Siwon stop him

 

“Let them talk”

 

Zhoumi just nods his head while staring at Siwon sadly

 

 

 

 

“WOOKIE!!!”

 

Jongwoon holds Ryeowook’s arm before she can go out of the hotel

 

“I need to talk to you”

 

Ryeowook shook her head. She drops her head as tears start falling slowly

 

“You invite me here to look like a fool in front of those rich people. Do you really need to embarrass me in front of them because I’m just a poor girl? I also have a dignity though I’m like this. Why are you doing this to me? Was it because I’m poor that’s why it’s easy for you to degrade me and treat me like an insect?”

 

Jongwoon stares at Ryeowook blankly

 

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I didn’t remember inviting you here”

 

Ryeowook looks at Jongwoon and slaps him

 

“Stop lying! Why are you hurting me like this? Was it because you know that I love you that’s why you’re playing on me like this? This is the reason why you don’t even answer my calls and my text messages because you’re already engage and you didn’t even tell me”

 

“Wookie, I can explain. Please listen to me”

 

Ryeowook shook her head

 

“We don’t need to talk and you don’t need to explain because I’m nothing to you. I’m not special and I don’t have the right to be like this”

 

Ryeowook wipes her tears

 

“You go back inside. Your fiancée is waiting for you and I bet she’s already worried. Let’s just forget each other and I hope our paths will never cross again”

 

Ryeowook told Jongwoon before walking away. Jongwoon’s tears falls slowly from his eyes as he watches Ryeowook walk away

 

“I’m sorry Wookie. I love you and not her, but I can’t do that. I can’t love you because I’m Kim Jongwoon. I’m sorry”

 

Jongwoon whispers. He drops his head and goes back at the courtyard garden

 

 

 

Sungmin and Sulli were talking happily about Ryeowook when someone grabs Sungmin’s arm

 

“We need to go home now”

 

Sungmin stares at Jongwoon

 

“But the party is not yet over”

 

“We need to talk”

 

“But Jongwoon…”

 

Jongwoon stares at Sungmin seriously

 

“You’re coming with me whether you like it or not. Don’t test my temper Lee Sungmin if you don’t want me to make a scene here”

 

Jongwoon told Sungmin dragging her forcefully

 

“Jongwoon, you’re hurting me. Stop it!”

 

Jongwoon ignores Sungmin. He doesn’t care anymore if he hurt Sungmin. He’s really mad at her for what she did to Ryeowook

 

“Honey…”

 

“Shut up!”

 

Jongwoon told Sungmin angrily as he continues to drag her. Jongwoon pushes Sungmin inside his car before going inside the driver’s seat

 

“Why do we need to go home? The party is not yet over. Youngwoon Appa and…”

 

“I TOLD YOU TO SHUT UP!!!”

 

Sungmin feels so nervous when Jongwoon shouts. She stares at Jongwoon’s serious face

 

“Jongwoon…”

 

Jongwoon ignores her and drives his car fast

 

 

 

 

Jongwoon drags Sungmin inside her room and pushes her on her bed

 

“WHAT THE ING HELL ARE YOU DOING?”

 

Jongwoon shouts at Sungmin

 

“I just did the right thing. That needs to find out the truth so she will stop clinging on you!”

 

Sungmin told Jongwoon while tears start forming in her eyes

 

“YOU’RE THE AND NOT HER!!!”

 

Sungmin stands up and face Jongwoon. She slaps Jongwoon hard

 

“Why are you defending her? Is she more important than me? I am your fiancée Jongwoon and not that ing ”

 

Jongwoon raised his hand. He was about to slap Sungmin, but he controls his self

 

“Go ahead and hurt me! Is that what you want? You want to hurt me because of that girl!”

 

Sungmin starts sobbing

 

“Why are you doing this to me Jongwoon?”

 

“Go to sleep now”

 

Jongwoon walks away, but Sungmin blocks the door before Jongwoon can go out of her room

 

“What do you want me to do for you to love me Jongwoon?”

 

“Go to sleep now”

 

Sungmin shook her head. Jongwoon was shock when Sungmin removes her clothes

 

“What are you doing?”

 

Jongwoon immediately grabs the blanket and wraps it around Sungmin. Sungmin kissed Jongwoon’s lips, but she pushes her away

 

“Why don’t you want to have with me?”

 

“Stop it”

 

Sungmin shook her head as tears keep on falling from her eyes. She tries to remove the blanket that was wrapped around her body, but Jongwoon stops her. Jongwoon carries her on his shoulder and lay her down on her bed with him on top of her. He holds Sungmin’s hands up on her head

 

“What the ing hell are you doing?”

 

Sungmin stares at Jongwoon while sobbing

 

“Jongwoon, I’m giving you myself. I’m doing everything and I’m you everything for you to love me, but why? Was it really hard for you to love me? I love you so much Jongwoon and you know that. I start loving you when we’re still kids and I continue loving you until now. But why can’t you see it? Why can’t you notice me? Why do you always ignore me? Why?”

 

Jongwoon leans his forehead on hers

 

“I love you Minnie and you know that. I love you, but it’s not the love that you want me to give you. I can’t love you the way that you want me to love you”

 

Jongwoon wipes Sungmin’s tears

 

“I’m sorry, but please stop hurting yourself like this. Stop hurting the girl that I love. I’m begging you Minnie. You’re hurting me when you hurt her”

 

“How about me?”

 

“You’re going to be my wife”

 

“But I never have your heart”

 

“I’m sorry”

 

Jongwoon kissed Sungmin’s forehead and gets off the bed

 

“Just go to sleep now”

 

Jongwoon told Sungmin before leaving her room. Sungmin’s tears start falling from her eyes again

 

“I swear Jongwoon. You’re going to regret loving that beggar. I’m not going to stop. I’m going to do everything for you to love me. I’m going to make that girl’s life miserable. You can’t love her because you’re mine. I don’t care if I hurt you. You can never love anyone because you’re mine”

 

Sungmin wipes her tears and sit on her bed

 

“I’m going to make that girl live in hell. She will regret that she become part of your life. I will make her life miserable and I’m going to make sure that she will suffer the consequences for seducing you. Because of that , you can’t notice me and you can’t appreciate me. Kim Ryeowook, you will be living in hell soon”

 

Sungmin whispers while biting her lips because of anger
