Chapter 4

 

 

Jongwoon was eating his breakfast with Youngwoon, Sungmin, Siwon and Sulli

 

“Where have you been yesterday night? You go home so late and you didn’t inform your fiancée about it. Minnie is worried about you, don’t you know that?”

 

Youngwoon asks his son, breaking the silence. Jongwoon and Siwon stare at each other

 

“Minnie will be your wife soon. Please be a good husband to her. You need to inform her if you’re going home late so she won’t feel so worried about you and you must understand that she’s waiting for you. Don’t give her a hard time”

 

Youngwoon added. Jongwoon looks at Sungmin who is sitting beside him. She’s so quiet and look so sad

 

“And by the way…”

 

Youngwoon looks at Jongwoon and Sungmin

 

“You’ll meet the party coordinator at La Categorie later in the afternoon. 1PM to be exact”

 

Sungmin nods her head. She holds Jongwoon’s hand and stares at him

 

“Honey”

 

Jongwoon pulls his hand away from Sungmin’s grip. He grabs the table napkin and wipes his lips

 

“I have a meeting later”

 

“But honey”

 

“You can do it alone or if you want, you can drag Sulli with you”

 

Jongwoon told Sungmin. He stands up

 

“Where are you going?”

 

Youngwoon asks his son, but Jongwoon ignores him

 

“KIM JONGWOON! I’M TALKING TO YOU!”

 

Youngwoon shouts, but Jongwoon just ignore him and leaves the dining room without saying anything. Youngwoon sighs, controlling his anger

 

“Since when did that boy become hard headed? Aish!”

 

Youngwoon stares at her daughter in law. He holds Sungmin’s hand

 

“I’m sorry about that sweetheart. Don’t worry because I’ll talk to him. He’s just being a hard headed boy”

 

“It’s ok Appa”

 

Sungmin manage to flash a smile though her heart is aching at the sudden cold treatment of Jongwoon to her

 

“Sulli can go with me later since she doesn’t have class today”

 

Sulli nods her head

 

“Don’t worry Uncle Youngwoon. I’ll accompany Minnie Unnie later and Oppa will be our driver since he’s free today, right Oppa?”

 

Sulli wraps her hands around her brother’s arm while flashing her puppy eyes. Siwon stares at Sulli and nods his head

 

“Of course, I’ll be the driver”

 

Siwon flashes a smile. Actually, he doesn’t want to come because he’s against his uncle’ plan and he feels sorry for his cousin, but because he can’t resist his sister and he’s also curious about the whole engagement and wedding thing, he decided to accompany Sungmin and Sulli to grab some information

 

“Are you sure Oppa?”

 

“Yes Minnie. Don’t worry about it because I’m free today like what Sulli says awhile ago. I’ll be your driver for today and beside, I really miss you that much. Let’s consider this day as our bonding time together”

 

“Thanks Oppa”

 

“No problem”

 

Siwon smiles at Sungmin. Youngwoon looks at Siwon

 

“You take care of Minnie and Sulli later, Arasso?”

 

Siwon nods at his uncle. Youngwoon stands up

 

“I’m going now”

 

Youngwoon kissed Sungmin’s forehead

 

“I’ll see you later sweetheart. Don’t worry about Jongwoon. I’ll talk to him”

 

“It’s ok Appa. I understand. Maybe Jongwoon is really busy this time and beside, I’m the bride. I’m the one who supposed to do all the planning and preparation and not Jongwoon. I’ll just report everything to him later and I know Jongwoon will let me decide and choose what I want”

 

Sungmin told Youngwoon happily

 

“Just enjoy your day with Sulli and Siwon”

 

“Yes Appa. Please be safe. See you later”

 

Youngwoon nods at Sungmin. He kissed Sulli’s forehead and pats Siwon’s shoulder before going out of the dining room

 

“Oppa”

 

Siwon looks at Sungmin and notice her sadness that she’s trying to hide through her smile

 

“Jongwoon is fine, right? He’s just busy that’s why he’s acting like that, right?”

 

“Yes Minnie. Jongwoon is just busy because of work. Don’t worry about him”

 

Siwon lied

 

“Just continue eating and don’t think too much or else you’ll be ugly on your engagement next week”

 

“OPPA!”

 

Siwon laughs while staring at Sungmin who pouts at him

 

“Just kidding Minnie. You’re beautiful and that will never change”

 

“I know”

 

Sungmin smiles at Siwon and continue eating her breakfast

 

 

 

 

*KIM CORPORATION*

 

 

Jongwoon was staring at the screen of his laptop while thinking about Sungmin

 

“Am I being rude to her?”

 

Jongwoon asks his self

 

“It’s not her fault if our fathers arranged our marriage. She loves me and I think there’s nothing wrong if she becomes my wife. We’re childhood friends and she loves me, but…”

 

Jongwoon sighs

 

“The problem is, I don’t love her. I mean, I love her. I love her as a younger sister. That’s all. But what should I do? I don’t know how to oppose Appa and Minnie will be sad if I refuse the engagement and our wedding next year. I don’t want to hurt Minnie, but still…Aish!”

 

Jongwoon rubs his temple

 

“My head is already aching because of thinking too much. This is so troublesome and it will be hard for me to escape. What to do?”

 

Jongwoon’s tears start forming in his eyes

 

“I think I should just accept it. I think it won’t be hard for me to love Minnie, but…how do you teach a heart to love? Can I teach my heart to love Minnie? Can I really do that? Maybe…I hope so”

 

Jongwoon told his self while shaking his head. He closes his eyes for the meantime to clear his mind and stop thinking about Sungmin for awhile so he can focus on his work when he suddenly thinks about Ryeowook. He’s seeing Ryeowook’s face while his eyes are closed

 

“Aigoo!”

 

Jongwoon immediately opens his eyes

 

“What the hell is that? Why am I seeing that girl’s face all of a sudden? Is she a ghost? Aigoo!”

 

Jongwoon saw his cup of Espresso Roast. He grabs it and immediately drinks it to calm his self, but instead of calming his self, he end up spitting it out because it’s hot

 

“Aigoo! My tongue. It’s so hot”

 

Jongwoon stuck his tongue out to cool his tongue while getting something inside his pocket. He wipes his mouth with the handkerchief that he gets inside his pocket

 

“That was painful”

 

Jongwoon told his self

 

“I almost lose my tongue. Stupid me”

 

Jongwoon’s eyes suddenly widened upon seeing the handkerchief that he’s holding

 

“Aigoo!”

 

Jongwoon throws the handkerchief on the table

 

“That…that…it’s the handkerchief of that girl. She’s following me…she’s really a ghost”

 

Jongwoon starts to panic like a kid causing him to fall on his chair

 

“Ouch! What the…”

 

Jongwoon rubs his back

 

“It’s so painful”

 

Jongwoon hold on to his desk for support as he slowly stands up. He cracks his back before going back to his seat

 

“Kim Jongwoon…”

 

Jongwoon starts slapping his self softly

 

“What the hell is happening to you? Why are you hurting yourself because of thinking about her? And on the first place, why are you thinking about her?”

 

Jongwoon suddenly smile while thinking about Ryeowook

 

“I just can’t help but to think about her. I also can’t help to smile whenever I’m with her and whenever I think about her”

 

Jongwoon grabs his cup of Espresso Roast and carefully takes a sip, avoiding burning his tongue. He notices the purple post-it note attached to the cup

 

 

Mr. Kim…

 

Just relax and smile. Don’t take things too seriously. You’ll have wrinkles if you will frown all day. Smile

 

 

Jongwoon smiles

 

“Whoever you are maker of my Espresso Roast, I think you’re right this time. I need to smile because there’s already a reason for me to smile”

 

Jongwoon told the cup that he’s holding while smiling brightly. He grabs his mobile phone on his desk and scans the photo gallery. He stares at his picture with Ryeowook at the beach. Jongwoon stares at Ryeowook’s beautiful yet innocent face. He smiles while staring at her beautiful smile; the smile that always makes him feel so comfortable and relaxed and the smile that always brighten his day no matter how tired and weary he is

 

“What is your name beautiful girl? I forgot to ask because I’m busy staring at you all night. You’re so beautiful and innocent, don’t you know that? My heart aches when I see your tears yesterday night. That’s why I feel sorry for shouting at you. I’m just sad and very frustrated with me life right now. Are we going to see each other again? I hope so”

 

Jongwoon suddenly laughs upon remembering all the things that happen on his blind date yesterday night, especially the way Ryeowook walked like a penguin which he finds it cute. Jongwoon was laughing by his own that he didn’t notice someone knocking on the door. Changmin enters Jongwoon’s office

 

“Mr. Ki—“

 

Changmin’s eyes widened on what he saw. He was shock to see his snobbish boss laughing happily like a little kid winning a game. Changmin stares at Jongwoon for awhile. He feels so happy seeing Jongwoon laughing like that

 

“Come to think of it, Mr. Snobbish is not scary at all when he laughs like that”

 

Changmin thought. He coughs to catch Jongwoon’s attention. Jongwoon stops laughing and his eyes widened upon seeing Changmin starring at him while smiling

 

“YAH!”

 

Jongwoon shouts, he puts down his cup of Espresso Roast on his desk and frowns at Changmin

 

“DO YOU KNOW HOT TO KNOCK MR. SHIM?”

 

“Ah…Mr. Snobbish…I mean Mr. Kim…”

 

Changmin gulps nervously while staring at Jongwoon’s serious face

 

“I actually knock, but you didn’t hear me because you’re busy laughing”

 

Changmin starts sweating because of nervousness when Jongwoon stares at him seriously

 

“What are you doing here in my office?”

 

Jongwoon asks Changmin calmly

 

“Ah…well…Conference Room 10 is now ready for your meeting with the members of the Board”

 

“Arasso. You can leave now”

 

Changmin bows at Jongwoon and quietly leaves Jongwoon’s office

 

“Aish! That was so embarrassing”

 

Jongwoon sighs and starts laughing like a kid again. He stares at his picture with Ryeowook on his mobile phone

 

“My secretary saw me laughing. I look like an idiot because of you…a handsome idiot. Yeah right, a handsome idiot”

 

Jongwoon laughs softly

 

“Because of you, my snobbish image has been ruined. But it’s ok. At least my employees know that I’m not as snobbish and grumpy person like what they are thinking. Well, I’m not really like that…it’s just that…”

 

Jongwoon’s tears start forming in his eyes

 

“I wish you’re always by my side so I can smile and laugh. I don’t know, but you give me strength and I feel happy whenever you’re around and I just can’t explain why”

 

Jongwoon stares at his watch before staring at the picture again

 

“I’ll just have a meeting with the members of the Board. I’ll be back later. Wait for me, Arasso? See you later my Princess”

 

Jongwoon kissed the picture on his mobile phone and giggles happily. He puts his mobile phone on his desk and stands up. He went out of his office and stares at Stephanie and Changmin who stops talking about him

 

“It’s still early to have a break and talk about me”

 

Jongwoon told them while frowning. Changmin and Stephanie look at each other before staring at Jongwoon’s serious face. They gulp nervously while staring at their boss

 

“MS. HWANG! CONTINUE WORKING AND STOP MEDDLING ON MR. SHIM’S BUSINESS!”

 

“Arasso Mr. Kim”

 

Stephanie immediately focuses her attention back to her work. Jongwoon looks at Chnagmin and shoot him a deadly glare

 

“MR. SHIM!”

 

Changmin immediately stand up

 

“Yes Mr. Kim?”

 

Jongwoon smiles at them. Stephanie drops her pink pen while Changmin’s eyes widened upon seeing Jongwoon smiling

 

“Follow me at Conference Room 10. Don’t forget to bring my Espresso Roast”

 

Jongwoon told Changmin in a calm voice. He stares at Stephanie with a smile on his face

 

“I need the copy of Mr. Shin’s business proposal. Just place it on my desk. I’ll read it later after my meeting with the members of the Board”

 

“Yes Mr. Kim”

 

“Thanks”

 

Jongwoon smiles at them before leaving the room. Stephanie and Changmin stare at each other with wide eyes open

 

“See that Noona? I told you that I saw him laughing inside his office. See? He just smiles at us”

 

Stephanie nods, still can’t believe what just happened

 

“He even say thank you to me. He never say thank you before. Aigoo! Is it already the end of the world? This is the first time that I heard Mr. Snobbish saying thank you and this is also the first time I saw him smiling like that. I wonder what he ate in breakfast awhile ago because he is so calm today that he even smiles at us”

 

Stephanie holds her chin while thinking so deep

 

“Maybe Mr. Snobbish is in love Noona”

 

“So, Medusa can actually make his smile though she’s such a dragoness?”

 

Stephanie asks Changmin curiously

 

“Maybe, we can never tell”

 

Changmin smiles

 

“But at least his aura is calm. We need to keep that up so he won’t yell at us anymore. Come to think of it Noona…”

 

Changmin looks at Stephanie happily

 

“Our Mr. Snobbish is really handsome and he doesn’t look so scary when he smiles, right?”

 

Stephanie nods in agreement

 

“Yeah. I hope he’ll always smile like that. Love can really change everything. Thanks to Medusa”

 

Stephanie flashes a smile on her eyes

 

“Mr. Snobbish is really handsome”

 

Stephanie coughs

 

“But of course you need to follow him now at Conference Room 10. Don’t do something stupid that will make him get mad or else we both die again. Remember Max, we need to keep his good aura the whole day and hopefully on the following days to come so we won’t have a heart attack. Seriously, we always die every day because of heart attack because Mr. Snobbish is always in bad mood and so scary whenever he gets mad”

 

“I’m going now Noona. Let’s have lunch together with Jessica Noona and celebrate our Mr. Snobbish’s first smile and laugh”

 

Changmin went inside Jongwoon’s office and gets the cup of Espresso Roast on top of his boss’s table and immediately went out

 

“See you later Noona”

 

Changmin bid goodbye to Stephanie. He grabs some folders on his desk and run outside bringing Jongwoon’s Espresso Roast

 

 

 

 

Siwon was driving his car quietly while enjoying the music being played on the radio. Sulli was sitting at the back seat while busy designing some wedding dress for Sungmin in her sketch book while Sungmin is busy calling Jongwoon

 

“Aish! How come he’s not answering my calls?”

 

Sungmin whispers. Siwon looks at Sungmin and notice her frowning while staring at her mobile phone

 

“Is there something wrong Minnie?”

 

Sungmin turns off the radio and looks at Siwon

 

“Oppa”

 

Siwon nods his head, signaling Sungmin to continue talking

 

“Tell me the truth. Is Jongwoon having an affair behind my back?”

 

“What?”

 

Siwon’s eyes widened. He stops his car when the traffic lights turn red. He looks at Sungmin

 

“What makes you say that?”

 

“Because he’s acting so strange and cold towards me. Tell me Oppa, where did he go yesterday night? Why did he go home so late?”

 

“I don’t know. I’m not his secretary ok”

 

Siwon lied. He starts driving his car when the traffic lights turn green

 

“Oppa, are you telling me the truth?”

 

Sungmin pouts while tears start forming in her eyes

 

“Jongwoon don’t love me, right? I think he’s not really happy about our engagement and arrange marriage. He’s just pretending to be happy. He’s not happy because he doesn’t love me, right?”

 

Siwon gulps nervously. He doesn’t know what to do and what to say. Of course, he can’t just tell Sungmin the truth that Jongwoon actually hate their engagement and arrange marriage. Siwon starts to panic when Sungmin’s tears start falling from her eyes

 

“Minnie…”

 

“Why can’t you answer me Oppa? It’s true right? Jongwoon hate me and our engagement and upcoming wedding”

 

“Of course that’s not true Unnie”

 

Sulli butts in. She hugs Sungmin from behind

 

“Stop crying Unnie because Jongwoon Oppa is really sad whenever you cry. What you’re thinking is not true”

 

Sulli gets a pack of tissue inside her hand bag and hands it to Sungmin

 

“Thanks Sulli”

 

Sulli smiles at Sungmin

 

“There are men who are very serious in life and shy to express their love towards the woman they love and of them is Jongwoon Oppa. Don’t think a lot of things Unnie. Just trust Jongwoonie Oppa because I know that he loves you. He’s just afraid to show you and maybe he’s still adjusting to the situation”

 

Sungmin nods while wiping her tears

 

“I know Oppa. He can never hurt you Unnie. He can never do that to you. Oppa is just being busy because being the son of the well known and of the top CEOs worldwide is never easy. Of course he needs to do well in business industry just like Uncle Youngwoon and he’s having a lot of pressure because uncle always set high expectations on him. Just understand Oppa and I know that he’ll spend a lot of time with you when he’s finally free”

 

Sulli gently brushes her fingers on Sungmin’s flawless cheek

 

“Stop crying Unnie. You need to smile now or else Jongwoonie Oppa will be sad and worry about you”

 

“Arasso”

 

Siwon sighs in relief when Sungmin already flashes a bright smile

 

“It’s good that Sulli is here or else I’ll end up being interrogated by Sungmin. I feel so safe now”

 

Siwon whispers. He wipes his sweat with the back of his hand. He manages to smile at Sungmin and continues driving his car quietly

 

 

 

 

 

*MOUSE RABBIT*

 

 

Ryeowook arrives at Mouse Rabbit later in the afternoon after her classes. She was shock to see all her c-workers including Mrs. Lau staring at her while smiling brightly

 

“So…how’s your date with Mr. Kim yesterday? You need to tell us what happen since we didn’t had the chance to corner you awhile ago because you need to go to school after making Mr. Kim’s Espresso Roast”

 

Donghae told Ryeowook. Eunhyuk grabs Ryeowook’s things

 

“Wait a second Wookie. Before you the story, let me put your things inside the Employee’s Room”

 

“Thanks Hyukkie”

 

Ryeowook smiles at Eunhyuk who immediately runs inside the Employee’s Room to put all Ryeowook’s things then he immediately goes back to the counter so Ryeowook can already start her story about her date with Jongwoon. Ryeowook puts her apron before talking

 

“So, you guys all know that my date is actually Mr. Kim?”

 

They all nod at Ryeowook while smiling brightly at her

 

“And whose idea is it?”

 

They all point their finger on Zhoumi who is laughing softly. He raises his hand while giggling happily

 

“It’s my idea Wookie”

 

“But why?”

 

“Well…”

 

Zhoumi coughs, clearing his throat before continuing

 

“It’s actually Siwon’s idea”

 

They all nod at Zhoumi

 

“He wants to set Jongwoon in a blind date because he’s so worried about his cousin. Jongwoon is a very busy man and he don’t have time for his self and he doesn’t even have time to look for a girlfriend”

 

Zhoumi notice Ryeowook’s sweet smile upon hearing that Jongwoon is still single

 

“He set Jongwoon in a blind date and asked me if I could find the girl as Jongwoon’s blind date. Since we’re friends, I decided to help him”

 

“But why did you choose me Manager Mimi? There are a lot of girls out there. They are way too better than me. You see, I’m just an ordinary girl. I’m an orphan, poor, not elegant and I don’t belong to their class because I’m not elite like them”

 

Ryeowook told Zhoumi sadly

 

“Wookie, Jongwoon doesn’t need those kind of women because what Jongwoon need is an ordinary and simple girl like you”

 

Zhoumi told Ryeowook while patting her head

 

“Manager Mimi is right Wookie. You’re the best girl because you’re not just beautiful. You’re also nice, hardworking, innocent, simple and you’ve got a golden heart”

 

Henry added. Sunny, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Zhoumi and Mrs. Lau nod, agreeing to Henry. Mrs. Lau cups Ryeowook’s face and smiles at her

 

“My son is right Wookie. You’re the best girl even though you don’t belong to their class”

 

Ryeowook smiles at them

 

“Thanks everyone”

 

“Did you enjoy the date with your Prince Charming?”

 

Ryeowook nods happily at Mrs. Lau

 

“He’s such a gentleman and very handsome, especially when he laugh and smile”

 

“Jongwoon laugh and smile?”

 

Zhoumi asks Ryeowook with a big question mark on his face because he knows that Jongwoon never smile and laugh

 

“Are you sure? Maybe that’s a shout and not a laugh. Maybe it’s a smirk and not a smile”

 

Ryeowook shook her head

 

“I really saw it Manager Mimi. Jongwoon Oppa…”

 

“OPPA!!!”

 

They all shout in unison while staring at Ryeowook with wide eyes open

 

“What? He’s the one who told me to call him Oppa”

 

“Oh…”

 

Donghae smiles

 

“I think I smell a new love team here. Lovers in Mouse Rabbit III, what do you think my honey Hyukkie?”

 

Donghae wraps his hands on his boyfriend’s arm who keeps on nodding

 

“First, Jongwoon laugh and smile in front of you. Second, he wants you to call him Oppa. Is there something going on between the two of you? You know? Something special and romantic”

 

Zhoumi teases Ryeowook who starts blushing

 

“Manager Mimi! Stop teasing me ok!”

 

Ryeowook pouts

 

“I actually don’t know if I’m still going to have another close encounter with him like that. That’s why I really cherish every single minute with him yesterday”

 

Ryeowook suddenly smiles while reminiscing her date with Jongwoon

 

“We ate together in one plate. He fed me because I don’t know how to use a fork and knife. I only know how to use chopsticks and that’s my first time having a formal dinner”

 

“Wow! I never knew that a snobbish person like him is sweet”

 

“Yes Sunny. He’s really sweet and nice”

 

Ryeowook and Sunny giggle happily

 

“We even dance in barefoot”

 

“Really?”

 

“Yes. I don’t know how to walk on heels. He told me that we can dance in barefoot. He removes his shoes and socks and he’s the one who removes my shoes. Our face is really close with each other and I just can’t help but to stare at him. He’s more gorgeous in a close-up view, especially when he smiles. My heart is melting whenever he flashes a bright smile and I just can’t help but to turn red like a tomato. I know that I look like an idiot, but I just can’t help it”

 

They all smile brightly while listening to Ryeowook and watching her giggling happily. Zhoumi looks at Mrs. Lau as they give each other thumbs up

 

“His lips are soft”

 

“How did you know? Did he already kiss you?”

 

Eunhyuk asks Ryeowook excitedly. They stare at Ryeowook who holds her lips while blushing. She stares at them

 

“No…it’s just that…our lips almost touch each other because he catches me when I fall. He even caught me smelling him”

 

Ryeowook told them shyly making them laugh

 

“Why are you smelling Jongwoon?”

 

“Wookie, are you a ert?”

 

Zhoumi and Eunhyuk tease Ryeowook happily

 

“YAH! Of course not, I just can’t help it because his perfume is really lovely and it’s so fragrant. My heart is always beating so fast whenever he gets closer to me. I’m so happy whenever he holds me closer to him. His body is warm as well as his hands…his hand keeps my cold hand warm and it’s really soft. I can’t help but to fall in love with him even more. AHHHHH!!! SUGAR!!! OH MY GOODNESS!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM!!!”

 

Ryeowook shouts happily as she hugs Sunny

 

“I really love my Prince Charming. I don’t care if he’s snobbish and grumpy. Oh my gosh! I really die yesterday because of him. He’s so sweet and very romantic. We even went at the beach after dinner”

 

“You swim?”

 

Ryeowook shook her head

 

“We just walk on the share hand on hand. We enjoy the beach at night and we even take pictures together on his mobile phone since my phone is so low tech”

 

“Don’t worry Wookie. Next time, I’m going to let you borrow my DSLR, so you can capture every moment with Mr. Kim”

 

Henry told Ryeowook happily

 

“I don’t know Henry. I think I won’t have any more chance to be that close to him again”

 

Ryeowook sighs sadly

 

“Our world is really far away from each other”

 

Ryeowook told them sadly. Ryeowook takes a deep breath and smile

 

“But I’m really thankful to all of you for letting me experience how to be a Princess even just for a night. Thanks a lot”

 

Mrs. Lau holds Ryeowook’s hands

 

“Sweetheart, we’re family here. The happiness of one is the happiness of all”

 

“Thanks Ahjumma”

 

Ryeowook hugs Mrs. Lau

 

“Don’t worry Wookie. I know that you and Jongwoon will have more chance to have closer encounter”

 

Zhoumi told Ryeowook who just stares at him blankly

 

“Trust me Wookie. I’m good in match making and I never fail on it”

 

Zhoumi flashes a proud smile while patting Ryeowook’s head

 

“Ah…Manager Mimi, can I ask something?”

 

“Sure”

 

“It’s about Jongwoon Oppa”

 

Ryeowook clears before continuing

 

“It’s about Jongwoon Oppa’s family. I notice that he’s very sensitive when it comes to that topic”

 

Zhoumi’s eyebrow furrowed

 

“Don’t ever ask him again about family matter. Jongwoon hate it”

 

“But why?”

 

“Just let Jongwoon open up and tell everything to you”

 

Zhoumi told Ryeowook while smiling. Ryeowook just nod her head while thinking about Jongwoon

Jongwoon shouts

 

“Cool down Jongwoon-ah. You’re being grumpy again”

 

Siwon teases his cousin

 

“Shut up and just tell me the name of that girl!”

 

“I really can’t believe you”

 

Siwon sighs

 

“How can you forget to ask her name? That’s the first thing that you need to do in a date. Ask the person’s name and the last thing is to get her number before you part ways”

 

“I’m not expert in dating and you know that it’s my first time going in a date”

 

“But Jongwoon, even if you’re not in a date, the basic rule when you meet someone is to introduce yourself”

 

“She already know me”

 

“Pabo! That’s because you’re a famous icon. Everyone knows you ok”

 

“Well…”

 

Jongwoon blush a little

 

“I was astonished by her beauty that I forgot to get her name and number”

Siwon coughs

 

“Does it mean that the girl catch your heart? You’re not going to haunt her like that if you’re not interested with her”

“I’m happy whenever I’m with her. I never feel this way before. I can smile whenever I’m with her and I feel so happy and calm whenever she smiles. My heart beats so fast whenever she’s around. I always want to be with her though we still don’t know each other that much”

 

Siwon smiles upon hearing Jongwoon

 

“Jongwoon-ah, I think it’s what you call love”

 

“Love?”

 

Jongwoon’s tears start forming in his eyes

 

“Am I allowed to love the person that I want? I don’t think so”

 

Jongwoon told his cousin sadly

 

“Jongwoon…”

 

“Just tell me the name of the girl before I hang up”

 

“Well…”

 

Siwon suddenly laugh

 

“I didn’t tell you to laugh! I’m asking you to tell me the girl’s name!”

 

Jongwoon bites his lips because of anger

 

“To tell you the truth Jongwoon-ah…I actually forget her name. Just ask Mimi because he knows the girl”

 

“Oh yes! I almost forgot that she told me yesterday that Zhoumi is her friend. I need to go now”

 

Jongwoon hangs up. He stares at the bouquet of red roses lying on the passenger’s seat. He actually bought it for Ryeowook. He actually went at her house to give the flowers, but Ryeowook is not home. Jongwoon’s mobile phone rings, but he doesn’t want to answer it. He doesn’t want to talk to his father. He just continue to ignores his mobile phone that keeps on ringing every minute as he drives his car at Mouse Rabbit

 

 

 

 

Zhoumi and Ryeowook were talking at the counter when Ryeowook’s eyes widened upon seeing Jongwoon enters the Mouse Rabbit

 

“Aigoo!”

 

Ryeowook immediately hide under the counter

 

“Wookie, what are you doing?”

 

Zhoumi asks Ryeowook curiously while shooting her a weird glare

 

“Jongwoon Oppa is here”

 

Ryeowook mumbles, but Zhoumi didn’t understand her

 

“What?”

 

“Shhh…”

 

“Hey, what the…”

 

Zhoumi stops talking when he saw Jongwoon approaching the counter

 

“Oh hi there Jongwoon”

 

Zhoumi greets Jongwoon happily

 

“Can I talk to you for awhile? I’m just going to ask you something”

 

Jongwoon asks Zhoumi

 

“Sure. What is it?”

 

Zhoumi asks Jongwoon without looking at him. Zhoumi is actually looking at Ryeowook who is still hiding under the counter and keeps on whispering ‘Talk to him at the corner so I can escape’, but Zhoumi can’t understand her

 

“What?”

 

Zhoumi whispers softly, but Jongwoon hears it. Jongwoon notice Zhoumi looking under the counter. He tries to take a peek, but he can’t see anything, so he just coughs to catch Zhoumi’s attention

 

“Excuse me?”

 

“Oh…sorry about that Jongwoon”

 

Zhoumi looks at Jongwoon while flashing a weak smile

 

“I was just looking for a cat”

 

“Cat?”

 

Zhoumi nods while laughing like an idiot

 

“Oh yes a cat…it’s actually…OUCH!”

 

Zhoumi suddenly shouts because hits his knee as hard as she can

 

“Who are you calling a cat?”

 

Ryeowook whispers while pouting. Zhoumi looks at her

 

“YAH! I’M JUST…”

 

Zhoumi stops talking. He looks at Jongwoon who is staring at him with weird glare. Zhoumi flashes a smile

 

“Hahahaha”

 

Zhoumi laughs like an idiot

 

“Is there something wrong Zhoumi? Why are you acting so weird? Honestly, what is hidden under the counter? I keep on noticing you staring down there”

 

“Oh…there’s nothing hidden under the counter. I’m just checking if the cat is hiding under. Did you saw it?”

 

Jongwoon stares at Zhoumi blankly and shook his head

 

“Oh well, let’s just forget about the cat. She’ll go out later”

 

Zhoumi emphasize the word ‘out’ while looking at Ryeowook happily. He then focused his attention back to Jongwoon who keeps on shooting him weird glare

 

“Let’s just have a coffee at the balcony. I’ll treat you”

 

Zhoumi told Jongwoon while smiling, but Jongwoon shook his head

 

“Come on Jongwoon. Look, I know that you’re damn rich, but…”

 

Zhoumi stops talking when Jongwoon raised his hand to interrupt him

 

“I’m not here for coffee. Maybe we can have it next time, but not now. I’m actually in a hurry. I just drop by to ask you about the girl’s name. What’s my date’s name? I went at her house awhile ago, but I think she’s not home. I call Siwon, but he forgets the girl’s name. He told me to talk to you and I remember that the girl told me that you’re her friend”

 

“Oh yes, we’re friends”

 

Zhoumi smiles

 

“But why do you want to know her name?”

 

“Well…I just want to know because I forgot to asked about it and if you can also give me her contact details so I can ask her out again”

 

“I see”

 

Zhoumi smiles brightly. He looks down when someone keeps on pulling his denim. He stares at Ryeowook who keeps on mumbling something that he can’t understand. Zhoumi saw some folders and drops it purposely on the floor so he has a reason to bend down and talk to Ryeowook

 

“Oops! It falls on the floor. Wait a second Jongwoon”

 

Jongwoon nods. Zhoumi immediately sits on his heels

 

“What? I didn’t understand you”

 

Zhoumi whispers softly, making sure that Jongwoon will not hear him talking

 

“Don’t give it Manager Mimi”

 

“But why? This is your opportunity to get closer with him”

 

“But…”

 

Zhoumi smiles at Ryeowook

 

“Manager Mimi”

 

Zhoumi stuck his tongue out. He immediately picks the folders and stands up

 

“Well…sorry about that. Where are we again?”

 

“The girl’s name and her contact details”

 

“Oh…”

 

Zhoumi was about to give Jongwoon Ryeowook’s name and contact details when someone speaks out of nowhere

 

“Wookie? What are you doing under the counter?”

 

Donghae asks Ryeowook who buries her face on her palms. Jongwoon looks at Donghae curiously. Donghae immediately run towards the counter and sits on the floor. Jongwoon tries to peek again, but he can’t see anyone. He can only see Donghae staring at something under the counter

 

“Yah! Shoo, don’t be so loud. Aigoo! I’m so embarrassed now”

 

Ryeowook told Donghae while blushing. Zhoumi bites his lips to control his laughter

 

“Why are you here under the counter?”

 

“Shhh?”

 

“What shhh?”

 

Zhoumi coughs to catch Donghae’s attention. Donghae raised his head and saw Zhoumi and Jongwoon staring at him

 

“Hello there Manager Mimi and Mr. Kim”

 

Donghae smiles like a kid. He looks at Ryeowook and snaps his fingers

 

“I know! You’re hiding from Mr. Kim, right?”

 

Ryeowook holds her forehead. She wants to melt on that moment. She wants to cover Donghae’s mouth, but it’s too late. He already blabs about it and he feels so embarrassed

 

“Wookie, why are you so red?”

 

Ryeowook shook her head. Zhoumi laughs softly

 

“I guess you need to get out now my dear cat”

 

Zhoumi told Ryeowook while laughing softly

 

“Ah Hae…”

 

Donghae looks at Zhoumi

 

“Why don’t you take the customers’ order for the meantime while Jongwoon, Wookie and I talk for awhile?”

 

“Yes Captain?”

 

Donghae salutes at Zhoumi and stands up to attend to the customers’ need

 

“Wookie, go out now”

 

Zhoumi told Ryeowook who takes a deep breath. She slowly crawls out from the counter. Jongwoon’s eyes widened upon seeing her. Ryeowook stands up and looks at Jongwoon shyly

 

“You…”

 

Jongwoon looks at Ryeowook and notice her wearing Mouse Rabbit’s uniform and apron

 

“You’re working here?”

 

Ryeowook nods at Jongwoon

 

“She’s Kim Ryeowook…Wookie for short, remember?”

 

Zhoumi told Jongwoon who keeps his eyes upon Ryeowook. He suddenly snaps his fingers

 

“Yes I remember. She’s the girl that the petite and cute woman was talking about. The person who is making my Espresso Roast, right?”

 

Zhoumi and Ryeowook nod at him

 

“Ha! I finally met you”

 

Jongwoon told Ryeowook while flashing a bright smile. Zhoumi and Donghae’s eyes widened when they saw Jongwoon smile

 

“Well, we already met a lot of time”

 

“I know. But this is the first time that I met you as the maker of my Espresso Roast. So, on the day that I saw you inside my elevator, are you the one who delivers my Espresso Roast in my office?”

 

Ryeowook nods while blushing

 

“I thought you’re my stalker and that you’re really following me. Sorry about that”

 

“Well, I’m actually your stalker”

 

Ryeowook whispers

 

“What is it?”

 

Ryeowook shook her head while smiling at Jongwoon

 

“So, you’re also the person who always writes on a purple post-it note?”

 

Ryeowook nods while blushing hard because of embarrassment

 

“Thank you”

 

Ryeowook was shock to hear Jongwoon saying thank you because she didn’t even hear him saying thank you or sorry before. Ryeowook looks at Jongwoon who is smiling brightly at her. Ryeowook smiles back

 

“So, you want Espresso Roast?”

 

Jongwoon shook his head and looks at Zhoumi

 

“I hope you don’t mind, but can I borrow her for the meantime? Is it ok if she will have an early out today? I just want to invite her out”

 

“Ok since you show us your brightest smile, I will allow Wookie to have an early out”

 

“Thanks”

 

Jongwoon smiles at Zhoumi. Ryeowook looks at her manager

 

“But Manager Mimi”

 

“You can just have overtime tomorrow ok?”

 

“But…”

 

“Shhh, no more buts”

 

Zhoumi smiles at Ryeowook. Donghae immediately walk towards Ryeowook and gives her things to her

 

“Have fun”

 

Donghae smiles at her. Ryeowook stares at Zhoumi and Donghae then she notice Henry, Eunhyuk and Sunny smiling brightly at her while giving her thumbs up

 

“GO WOOKIE! FIGHTING!”

 

They cheer for Ryeowook happily making her blush while Jongwoon laughs softly because he thinks that they are so cute and adorable

 

“If you won’t go with Jongwoon, I’ll tell Ahjumma to fire you right away”

 

“Yah! That was too much Manager Mimi”

 

Ryeowook pouts. Zhoumi laughs

 

“Just go. It’s your chance. Enjoy”

 

Zhoumi whispers at Ryeowook who nods her head

 

“Let’s go?”

 

Jongwoon asks Ryeowook

 

“Sure Oppa”

 

Ryeowook smiles and went out of the counter. Jongwoon helps her in bringing some of her things in which Ryeowook refuse, but Jongwoon still wins at the end after having some little arguments. Jongwoon smiles at Zhoumi, Henry, Eunhyuk, Donghae and Sunny in which they feel so happy and enjoy staring at Jongwoon’s lovely smile

 

“Thank you. Don’t worry because Wookie will be safe. That’s a promise”

 

They nod at Jongwoon happily and wave their hand at Ryeowook who is smiling brightly. They start giggling when Jongwoon intertwine his hands on Ryeowook as they leave Mouse Rabbit happily. Zhoumi smiles at Donghae

 

“Nice job Hae”

 

Zhoumi pats Donghae’s shoulder while smiling at him. Donghae just smiles at Zhoumi though he feels confused why Zhoumi told him that he did a nice job

 

“Who wants to have dinner with me later?”

 

Zhoumi asks them happily. Henry, Sunny, Eunhyuk and Donghae raise their hand while smiling brightly

 

“Ok. We’re going out later after work. My treat”

 

Zhoumi smiles at his co-workers and gives them high five

 

 

 

 

Ryeowook was staring happily at the beautiful bouquet of red roses that Jongwoon gives her. She was sitting quietly inside Jongwoon’s car while Jongwoon was driving his car quietly

 

“Ah…Jongwoon Oppa, where are you taking me?”

 

Ryeowook asks to break the silence between them

 

“Well…”

 

Jongwoon scratches his head

 

“I really don’t know. I just want to be with you. It’s up to you where you want us to go”

 

“Oh…I also don’t know any place”

 

Ryeowook told Jongwoon while flashing a shy smile. There was a moment of silence again. Jongwoon coughs to break it

 

“Ah, Wookie…”

 

“Hmmm?”

 

“I really don’t mind if you invite me in your house”

 

Jongwoon told Ryeowook shyly

 

“But my house is just small”

 

“It’s ok. At least we have some place to go”

 

Ryeowook smiles at Jongwoon

*RYEOWOOK’S HOUSE*

 

 

“Welcome to my humble home”

 

Ryeowook happily welcomes Jongwoon inside her house. Jongwoon sits on the sofa while looking around. The house is not that small, but Jongwoon’s room is much bigger than Ryeowook’s house. It’s simple and very neat

 

“You leave alone?”

 

Jongwoon asks Ryeowook

 

“Yes”

 

“Where are your parents?”

 

“Oh…”

 

Jongwoon suddenly notice Ryeowook’s sad face

 

“They already passed ahead. This house is the only treasure that they left for me”

 

“Sorry about that”

 

“It’s ok”

 

Ryeowook stands up

 

“Are you going to have dinner here? I need to buy something to eat because I only have ramen”

 

“Ramen?”

 

“It’s an instant noodle”

 

Jongwoon nods

 

“Then I’ll have it as my dinner”

 

“Huh? But…”

 

“It’s ok. I never eat a ramen”

 

“Seriously?”

 

Jongwoon nods like a kid

 

“Oh yes…I forgot that you’re rich. I bet rich people doesn’t know how to eat it”

 

“I guess so”

 

“Just wait for me here at the living room. I’ll just…”

 

Ryeowook stops talking when Jongwoon holds her hand

 

“Can I go with you? I just want to see how do you cook it”

 

Ryeowook smiles at Jongwoon. She thinks that Jongwoon is really cute when he’s innocent

 

“Ok”

 

Ryeowook holds Jongwoon’s hand and drags him at the kitchen. Jongwoon watch Ryeowook as she starts cooking the ramen. Jongwoon notice the sweat on Ryeowook’s forehead. He moves closer and wipes it with his hand. Ryeowook’s heart starts jumping when Jongwoon stares at her. She gulps nervously when Jongwoon moves closer, staring at her face. Ryeowook holds her breath because she thinks that Jongwoon will kiss her lips, but to her disappointment, Jongwoon just wipe some dirt on her face. Jongwoon smile a little when he notice Ryeowook’s disappointed look

 

“Ah…is the food not yet cooked?”

 

Jongwoon asks Ryeowook while rubbing his tummy

 

“I’m already hungry now”

 

“Oh, sorry about that. Take a seat and the ramen will be ready in a minute”

 

Jongwoon grabs a chair and waits for Ryeowook to finish cooking the ramen. Ryeowook puts two glasses on the table and gets a pitcher of cold water on the fridge and pours it on the glasses

 

“Sorry, I can’t offer you anything but water”

 

“It’s ok. Water is still the best drink”

 

Jongwoon told Ryeowook who smiles at him. Ryeowook gets the pot holder and use it to get the hot pot on the stove and places it carefully on the table

 

“Tada!”

 

Ryeowook opens the pot happily. Jongwoon looks at the ramen like an innocent kid

 

“It looks delicious”

 

“It’s actually delicious”

 

Ryeowook grabs a chair and sit. She gets her chopsticks on the table. She notice Jongwoon staring at her

 

“Yes?”

 

“Are we not going to eat in a bowl or plate?”

 

“Oh”

 

Ryeowook smiles at Jongwoon

 

“It’s much enjoyable to eat the ramen in the pot. Let’s eat now”

 

Ryeowook stares at the cook ramen happily. She opens as wide as she can and was about to eat when she saw Jongwoon staring at her while smiling. Ryeowook immediately closed and blush because of embarrassment

 

“Sorry about that”

 

Jongwoon starts laughing

 

“Yah! Why are you laughing at me?”

 

Ryeowook pouts

 

“You look so cute, don’t you know that? You eat like a kid. You know? A lady should eat elegantly and not like that”

 

“Well, sorry if I’m not that kind of lady. I’m not elite like you ok”

 

Ryeowook frowns

 

“Did I ever tell you that you’re very beautiful, but very ugly when you frown?”

 

Ryeowook frown even harder                       

 

“You’re going to have wrinkles if you will frown”

 

Jongwoon laughs softly

 

“It’s ok to eat now. Don’t be shy. I really don’t mind if you eat like a kid. I find it so cute and you’re the first girl that I saw eating like that”

 

“Is that a compliment or what?”

 

Jongwoon smiles and gently pinches Ryeowook’s cheek making her blush

 

“Believe it or not, but it’s a compliment. You’re so unique and wonderful. I like everything about you”

 

Ryeowook’s heart starts beating fast. She feels so happy because Jongwoon thinks that he’s beautiful and he accepts her as she is. She’s happy because Jongwoon likes her even though she’s just an ordinary girl and not rich like him

 

“Thank you”

 

“Why are you thanking me?”

 

Jongwoon asks curiously

 

“Because you accept me even though I’m like this”

 

“There is nothing impossible when it comes to…”

 

Jongwoon stops talking and just blush. He just can’t confess to Ryeowook. He can’t love her. He needs to deprive his self for loving her because he can’t love Ryeowook. He can’t love her because he already has Sungmin

 

“Never mind. Let’s just eat”

 

Ryeowook nods at Jongwoon. She starts eating, but she suddenly stop when she notice Jongwoon staring at his chopsticks

 

“Is there something wrong?”

 

“I don’t know how to use chopsticks. We never use it at home”

 

“Then it’s my turn to feed you”

 

Ryeowook smiles

 

“Open your mouth”

 

Jongwoon opens his mouth a little

 

“Not like that. Open it just like what I did before”

 

Jongwoon opens his mouth a little bit more

 

“Honestly, that’s not even big”

 

Ryeowook whispers. She just smiles at Jongwoon and starts feeding him

 

“So?”

 

Jongwoon gives Ryeowook thumbs up while chewing his food carefully

 

“I told you, ramen is delicious”

 

“Very delicious and this is the best meal that I have”

 

Ryeowook and Jongwoon smile at each other as Ryeowook continue to feed Jongwoon happily

 

 

 

 

 

“Thanks for this day Wookie. I enjoy this day with you”

 

“We didn’t do anything. We just eat dinner and talk a little”

 

“But I still enjoy it. Are we still going to see each other?”

 

“Maybe”

 

Jongwoon gets his mobile phone inside his pocket

 

“Is it ok if you give me your number?”

 

Ryeowook answers Jongwoon with a smile and grabs his mobile phone to put her number on his contact lists

 

“Thanks. I’ll just call you”

 

Ryeowook nods at him

 

“Thanks for the dinner. I enjoy the ramen and it’s really delicious. That’s the best dinner”

 

Jongwoon smiles at Ryeowook

 

“I’m going now. Have a good night rest”

 

“You too and please drive safely”

 

“I will”

 

Jongwoon looks at Ryeowook. He stares at his eyes as his heart beats fast. He feels so happy and sad at the same time. Happy because he spends the rest of his day with Ryeowook and he really loves it. Sad because it’s time to go home and be back to reality again. Jongwoon waves his hand and went inside his car. Ryeowook waves her hand before closing the door. Jongwoon was sitting inside his car while tears start forming at the corner of his eyes

 

“I need to control myself. I must not love him because I already have Minnie”

 

Jongwoon whispers and starts driving his car

 

 

 

 

 

Jongwoon was welcome by Sungmin who is waiting for him at the living room

 

“Where have you been? I keep on calling you but you’re not answering any of it”

 

Jongwoon ignores Sungmin

 

“I’m worried about you, don’t you know that?”

 

Jongwoon stops walking when he heard Sungmin sobbing

 

“Why are you doing this to me Jongwoon? Why are you hurting me like this? I’m your fiancée and not just an ordinary girl. Why can’t you give me some attention and time? You’re hurting me, don’t you know that? I don’t deserve to be treated like this. Why are you acting so cold? I can’t understand you. I’m not doing anything for you to treat me like this. Why? Was it because you don’t love me, that’s why it’s easy for you to hurt me and ignores me like this?”

 

Jongwoon turns around to face Sungmin. His heart is aching whenever he sees those tears falling from Sungmin’s eyes. He walks towards Sungmin. He holds her face between his hands and wipes Sungmin’s tears away. He hugs Sungmin tight

 

“I’m sorry. I’ll make up to you tomorrow. I’m sorry Minnie. Please stop crying. Don’t hurt me like this. I’m so sorry”

 

Sungmin looks at Jongwoon’s eyes

 

“I love you Jongwoon”

 

Jongwoon looks at Sungmin. Tears start forming in his eyes. He leans his forehead on hers as he caressed her cheeks

 

“I love you Jongwoon”

 

Sungmin told him for the second time

 

“Why can’t you answer me?”

 

“Minnie…”

 

“I know”

 

Sungmin’s tears start falling from her eyes again

 

“But I’m going to wait for you to love me”

 

Sungmin kissed Jongwoon’s lips and run upstairs. Jongwoon sighs. He sits on the couch, feeling so weak and helpless. His heart is in pain and he just doesn’t know what to do. He just closed his eyes and try his best to relax and forget about Ryeowook for the sake of Sungmin

 

 

 

 

Jongwoon carefully enters Sungmin’s room. He saw Sungmin sleeping peacefully on her soft bed. Jongwoon sits beside her. He gets his mobile phone and calls Ryeowook

Jongwoon somehow feels calm and happy upon hearing Ryeowook’s sweet voice

 

“It’s me Jongwoon”

 

“Hi Oppa. Why are you calling late at night? Aren’t you supposed to sleep now?”

 

“I just want to inform you that I arrive safe at home”

 

“That’s good”

 

Ryeowook smiles brightly

 

“How about you? Why are you not yet sleeping? It’s already late at night”

 

“I’m still doing my lesson plans”

 

“I see. Don’t tire yourself ok. Have a good night rest”

 

“You too”

 

Jongwoon hangs up. He stares at his wallpaper sadly. It’s his picture with Ryeowook at the beach

 

“Why is life so unfair? I can’t even love the person that I want?”

 

Tears start forming in Jongwoon’s eyes

 

“Why do I need to become Kim Jongwoon? I never want this kind of life”

 

Tears start falling slowly from Jongwoon’s eyes

 

“Why can’t I be happy just like ordinary people like you? I never want to have a life like this. All I want is to be happy and live my life the way I want”

 

Jongwoon wipes his tears and places his mobile phone on top of the table. He stares at Sungmin and gently her hair

 

“Minnie, why is it so hard? Tell me, where should I place myself? I need to forget my true feelings for her because of you. I need to deprive myself from loving the woman I want because of you. I need to give her up because of you”

 

Jongwoon slowly brushes his fingers on Sungmin’s beautiful face

 

“I love her, but I can’t do that because I need to love you. I need to stop my own happiness and hurt myself like this so I won’t hurt you and Wookie. I don’t want to hurt both of you. I love her, but I need to choose you. Please help me to love you so I can forget about her…I’m going to forget about her just for you”

 

Jongwoon stares at Sungmin for the meantime

 

“Have a good night rest”

 

Jongwoon kissed Sungmin’s forehead. He stands up and carefully leaves Sungmin’s room
