Sitting at SNU's colossal library drinking white hot chocolate and reading the City of Lost Souls is very soothing. I officially call this library my hanging place. I clearly don't understand why there aren't so many people in here, yet of course it's late evening and I can't sleep. Hearing the main entrance door opening and closing, and then footsteps makes me look up, seeing Seung-hyun who picks out a book on a shelf and plops down on a sofa. I continue minding my own business, but there's this feeling which is forcing me to approach him. I hesitate, afraid that I'll make him upset or leave. I glance back at him, noticing he's reading Life of Pi, which is one of my favorite books.

I think I have the audacity to approach him now, I thought. I get up and slowly walk towards him in a casual way. ''That's a great book you're reading'', I manage to say. After turning 2 pages, he finally answers; ''I know, I've read this book 3 times.'' I give a shy smile and turn to go back to my spot.

''Why don't you get your stuff and come sit with me?'', Seung-hyun asks flatly. I don't know how or why, but as soon as I hear that, my heart starts beating rapidly.

''Uhm...y...yeah sure,'' I blurt out. I think I saw a smile flash across his face. I get my stuff and sit gingerly on the sofa. The sofa literally has no mercy, it only allows two people to sit on it, without any space at all. Our legs and arms keep touching each other but apparently Seung-hyun doesn't take notice of it.

''What made you transfer to this school?'' Seung-hyun asks after a moment of silence.

''Well, my mom accepted a new job offer so we had to move further up in Seoul, and I guess to make things easier, she wanted me to live on campus,'' I admit, finishing my white hot chocolate.

''You got whipped cream on your lips,'' he says, without even looking at me. I blush, looking through my bag for a tissue.

''Here,'' he says, handing me a tissue.

''Thanks,'' I say shyly.

''Do you have any siblings? You didn't mention anything about your father either,'' he says, still reading. I hesitate but finally give in.

''I... had a father, but, he passed away due to cardiac arrest, and I was supposed to have a little sister but my mom had a miscarriage,'' I say quietly.

''I'm sorry,'' he says after a while. I smile gratefully. My phone starts ringing, I look at the screen displaying my mom's number. ''I have to take this call,'' I say excusing myself.

When I finish the call, I go back to Seung-hyun, noticing he's not there. I grab my stuff and run to the exit door looking for him, but he's gone.
