Chapter 6: Getting Closer and a Date???

The whole week after the little party Henry basically spent time with all of them since Zhou Mi and him would get up and then while Zhou Mi would cook breakfast, cause Henry managed to almost set the toaster on fire once, Henry would get Lu Han up and help him get ready for school. Then once everything was done and Lu Han was ready to go Zhou Mi would take him to his preschool then head to work so usually he would spend time with Leeteuk, who he had gotten very close to along with Ryeowook who came to see Leeteuk after he dropped Sehun off, since the 3 boys went to the same preschool. And twice Hangeng and Heechul had come over, which Henry was anxious about but slowly grew comfortable with them. And Kangin and/or Kyuhyun would bring the three boys all back to Leeteuk and Kangin’s to play for a bit.

And just like Lu Han, Chanyeol and Sehun warmed right up to Henry, a couple times accidentally calling him Uncle Henry because they felt as close to him as they did they other “uncles”.

Plus Lu Han clung to Henry like there was no tomorrow, especially when Sehun and Chanyeol were around and playing with everyone.

~Flashback~

Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Kangin, Leeteuk, Henry with Lu Han, Chanyeol and Sehun playing at Leeteuk’s after school.

“Henry come play with us!” Chanyeol happily shouted as he grabbed Henry’s hand and dragged him toward Sehun, Kangin and Ryeowook. Kyuhyun was just sitting next to Ryeowook laughing at the boys pulling Henry and Kangin to play with them while Leeteuk fixed them all something to eat while waiting for Zhou Mi.

“Ne ne Chanyeol. I‘m coming,” Henry said while laughing at him.

Only one person was missing from the picture and it wasn’t Zhou Mi.

Lu Han was behind Henry and just watched them pull him with them, clearly not looking happy. As he watched Chanyeol and Sehun play happily with Kangin and Henry, Lu Han went and sat against the wall to the right of the door to the apartment.

But luckily for Lu Han it wasn’t long before Henry took notice that said boy was missing and started to look around the apartment for him until he spotted him seated against the wall. Henry couldn’t figure out why he was there but he saw that Lu Han didn’t look happy at all and got instantly worried as he started over to him.

“Lu Han?” he questioned softly as he sat down beside the small boy.

Lu Han just wrapped his arms around his knees and placed his head down as he mumbled in Chinese, “Go away…”

Henry looked at him shocked. “Weisheme ne? LuLu…”

“I don’t want to talk to you. And don’t call me LuLu. Zou kai…”

Henry didn’t care about what he had said, all he paid attention to was the fact that Lu Han was upset and his voice sounded like he was about to cry. So he went and wrapped his arms around him, pulling to him easily despite Lu Han trying to push Henry away.

“Meiyou…”

“Meiyou. Not until you tell me what has got you like this? I assume I got you upset like this, shi?”

But Lu Han didn’t respond.

‘Why would he get so mad or upset suddenly and then not want anything to do with me? All I was doing was…oooh I’m a baichi.’

“Lu Han…” Nothing. “LuLu…”

“Hmm….”

‘Well that’s some kind of response.’

“Yihan…”

That caused Lu Han to finally look at Henry, “Shenme?”

Henry gave him a soft smile, “Yihan LuLu. I was paying to much attention to Chanyeol and Sehun instead of you wasn’t I?”

“Shi…Henry gege is mine. They all have their mamas and babas and I have you here.”

Henry’s smile just grew with hearing Lu Han’s words because it was really cute and sweet.

“I am yours Lu Han. I just wanted them to like me like you do.”

“Well they already do cause they have told me so stay with me.”

“Xing. But even if I go play with them doesn’t mean I’m still not yours. I admit that today it was my fault, I forgot about you for a moment, but as soon as I noticed you were gone I started looking around for you, worried.”

“Zhen?” Lu Han asked with his big doe eyes staring up at Henry.

“Shi. Not come on. Let us both go and play with them.”

“Xing. But can I stay right next to you?”

“Of course! I wouldn’t have it any other way Lu Han.”

~End Flashback~

Henry found that just made Lu Han more adorable, cause who wouldn’t think that when a little 4 or 5 year old boy who was possessive over someone who wasn’t his mom or dad. And every time Zhou Mi or anyone of the others were around, mostly those not around Lu Han when he is with Henry, still were shocked at Lu Han’s actions.

But it made Zhou Mi happy knowing that the 2 were so close and that all of his friends seemed to be Henry’s too so he didn’t feel alone anymore.

Well except Henry and Zhou Mi felt pretty bored right now since Lu Han was out with Chanyeol and Sehun somewhere and it was just the 2 talking.

“Never thought that I would get this bored again. it’s a very odd feeling…”

Zhou Mi looked at Henry as both laughed at the comment, getting the true meaning of what Henry was meaning.

“Well that’s what you get after Lu Han grows on you, in my case literally cause he’s my son.”

That caused Henry to bend over laughing, so much that he thought he was going to pop a vessel in his throat and Zhou Mi couldn’t help but join in with Henry.

“You know henry…” Zhou Mi started while turning to look at him, “I never did really ask much so I could get to know you better. Like the simple things, favorite color, food, and stuff like that.”

“Fine but only if you tell me too.” henry smiled and held out his hand to Zhou Mi, “Deal?”

Zhou Mi smiled as he agreed to the deal.

“So what is your favorite thing to do?”

“I would say playing my violin.”

“You play?” Zhou Mi was shocked honestly, he never thought he would be a violin person.

Henry answered with a nod while he looked at Zhou Mi.

“How long?”

“Uh…” Henry started counting on his fingers like a little kid would, “17 years or so I think.”

“SHENME? No way…then are you amazing?”

“Eh I‘m ok I still need work.”

Zhou Mi turned his whole body towards Henry, “Sure. But I swear you will have to play something once when I get my hands on a violin.”

“Sure, sure…whatever you say Zhou Mi…” he trailed of smiling and chuckling at Zhou Mi who was now acting like the little kid.

‘Man now I know how cute he can be and where Lu Han gets it from…HIM.’

“What about your favorite foods?”

“My favorite? Well this is getting easier…” Henry said sarcastically. “But its, and sorry that there are a few but, stinky tofu, lychee, and sweets especially chocolate. But nothing spicy cause I cant seem to handle it at all.”

Zhou Mi smiled at him, more like smirked, “So are you sure your Chinese then?”

“Well no because I am Chinese-Canadian.”

‘I know what your trying to do Zhou Mi…’ he thought while smirking back at him.

“Well well played my friend.”

Both started to laugh again and then Zhou Mi asked a few more things. “So what is your favorite color? And any other nicknames besides Mochi and Chipmunk?”

“Favorite color is white and yes I do meat buns and…”

“And?”

“Meiyou at de ganga!!!”

“Weisheme ne? how come its so embarrassing?”

Henry looked down at his lap. “Because my 2 friends gave me it after I did it a few times only because I had to!”

Zhou Mi raised an eyebrow super curious now. “And it is…”

“Its…don’t laugh ok?” And once he saw him nod, he continued, “Underwear thief…”

“Eh? Ok… that’s interesting. Maybe I should lock my underwear drawer.”

Henry was about to get upset and get mad at Zhou Mi but the moment he saw his face he realized it was a joke to make him cheer up after it so he just settled on lightly punching him in the shoulder.

“Ha ha Mr. comedian. But my turn now!” Henry said clapping his hands together and a big smile plastered on his face.

“So lets see… What are your nicknames and hobbies?”

“Hobbies are easy, ever if they don’t seem very manly, but they’re fashion and shopping.”

Henry started to laugh but suddenly stopped and apologized for laughing but Zhou Mi told him it was fine that even he laughs at it still.

“Now nicknames are kind of interesting. Since your from Canada you know who lady gaga is, shi?”

“Shi. Of course I do.”

“Well every since high school I had given the nickname Gentleman Mimi.”

“Well I will admit you are a gentleman and out there like Lady Gaga.”

“Ai!”

“Go on.”

“Lets see…well there is the obvious one of Mimi, I got the nickname of koala some how, Heechul calls me Jomiryo…”

“Shenme?”

 

“I don’t know either. Probably because he needed something to tease me by since he is my brother-in-law and with my brother since we all meet in high school. And I also have Mitang because…”

“Mi can mean honey in Chinese as well.”

“Shi. that’s right.”

“I think I like Mimi best.”

Henry smiled at Zhou Mi before he once again suddenly started up with his questions.

“So what is your favorite food? And your favorite color?”

“Food is probably watermelon and I have 2 favorite colors. White is one just like you and the other is black. Just simple colors.”

“Cool! But what about Lu Han? What are his nicknames, favorite foods, likes and dislikes, favorite color?”

“Is this a quiz on how well I know my son?” Zhou Mi said jokingly.

“Maybe…” Henry joked right back.

“Well Lu Han’s most common nicknames are Lulu, Hannie, Lu, Deer or Meng Lu, Marilyn Monroe, Cute Little Prince…”

“Marilyn Monroe?”

“Yeah that’s… I honestly don’t remember or know how he got that name but probably cause of his cuteness. But he likes soccer, the rubix cube, video games,

computers, water sports, nature sports, music and singing. He doesn’t really like fights. Oh and he hates people on his bed, I can get away with it and so can Chanyeol at times but he will literally kick you of the bed.”

“Ha looks can be deceiving I see.”

“Oh yes. And I have been accidentally kicked off his bed, and he kicked with all his strength I swear.”

Henry’s eyes widened at hearing that Little Lu Han could be so strong. ‘Remind me never to sit on his bed.’

“His favorite food is sausage fried rice, especially when Hangeng makes it, and his favorite color is also white.”

“Ha ha small color selection much?”

Both cracked up and relaxed someone, talking about random things about each other to favorite kind of movies and their families.

Just then they heard some voices from the hall, and instantly knew it was Chanyeol and Lu Han coming back.

“Look like they are back huh?” Henry asked Zhou Mi as he looked back at him.

“Yeah but they should be worn out since they were gone the whole day.”

Zhou Mi got up and went to the door to get Lu Han who seemed to be surprisingly energetic still but very happy.

Or that’s what they thought.

The moment Lu Han got to the couch and on Henry’s lap, he fell asleep.

“He guess he wasn’t as energetic as we thought he would be. I‘ll go put him in his bed so he can get some sleep before dinner.”

Zhou Mi merely nodded as Henry lifted Lu Han up and to his room and luckily his cell didn’t start ringing till after Lu Han was in his room.

“Yoboseyo?”

“Ah, Zhou Mi-ah, glad I could get hold of you.”

“Ne, Sung-nim. What do you need?”

“I really need your help tomorrow.”

Zhou Mi paused before answering and looked over to see it was just Henry leaving Lu Han’s room, nodding that he was asleep before he continued.

“What do you need help with nim?”

“A few of our workers on this new project we just started but they unfortunately got stuck in Japan due to a storm, I need someone with experience who can come with me to meet with the new consultants on this line.”

“Arraso. I can do it. What time do you need me there?”

“That’s might be a slight problem. I need you here by 5 A.M.”

“Ah…uh hold on one second.” Zhou Mi laid he phone down on the table and looked up to Henry was standing behind him, “Henry do you think you could possibly be the one to take Lu Han to school tomorrow? They want me to come in at 5, well more like need.”

Henry nodded, “Sure but I don’t know where the school is exactly at.”

“Its ok ill give you the address and if you want you can go with Leeteuk when he takes Chanyeol, I’ll tell him that you might go with.”

“Shi. I will then.”

Zhou Mi nodded to him as he reached and picked up the phone to tell his boss that he would be there at 5 to help.

“Henry thank you so much for that.”

Henry just shook his head as he responded back with, “No Zhou Mi its no problem at all. I’m sure Lu Han could care less which one of us take him.”

~4 AM the next morning~

Beep. Beep. Beep.

That annoying noise went off and sounded through the whole room as the man slowly rolled over to reach for his phone to turn it off before it woke up the other 2 in the apartment, but probably not since it was a phone alarm.

He got up as quietly as possibly before heading out of the room to got to the bathroom to take a shower that he hoped would wake him up.

‘Ok getting up at 4 AM is really a pain…’

After he was done showering and felt like he was awake he walked back into the living room but he noticed he wasn’t alone.

“Henry? What are you doing up? Did my alarm wake you up?”

“Meiyou Zhou Mi. I just for some reason woke up a few minutes ago when you were still in the shower.”

Zhou Mi walked over to Henry who was leaning against the back of the couch and imitated how he was standing, but he looked like he was sitting instead of leaning on it.

“Don‘t worry Henry, there is nothing to worry about. You have Leeteuk to show you where the school is all you really need to do is get him up at 7:30 and be out of here by 8:10. He is actually very quick to get up and ready.”

“Shi…”

“Henry…” Zhou Mi called the younger man as he put an arm around his shoulder, causing Henry to look at him. “Lu Han loves you and you’ll have no problem with him. I promise.”

Henry softly smiled and nodded.

“Now you go get some more sleep, you still have a few hours till you have to get up since its only 4:20 now.”

“Yeah I will try but no guarantees. I’m the kind who once they are up, no matter how ridiculously early it is and tired I am cant go back to sleep.” Henrys said as he quietly laughed, not wanting to wake up Lu Han.

“Well try. I am going to go eat something and change and I will be leaving, ok?”

“Ok.”

As Henry went to go lay back down he quickly and quietly went and checked on Lu Han to make sure he was still asleep, which he was. Once Henry bid a goodbye to Zhou Mi he went and set the alarm and tried to sleep.

When Henry woke up next the clock read 6:30 and he didn’t feel like trying to sleep for 1 more hour so he grabbed his phone and looked through it, at the photos he took of family and friends. He did miss them and wondered if they even realized he was gone, but all those thoughts went out the window as the alarm finally went off.

‘Wow…I spent a whole hour looking at stuff on my phone…well time to get Lu Han up.’

And to say Lu Ha was shocked to see Henry getting him up with out Zhou Mi shocked him but he was still happy that he had Henry there and easily listened to him.

“Lulu are you almost ready to leave?”

“Shi!”

Lu Han came running out of his room, clearly excited to be going with Henry and they went out of the apartment and knocked on Leeteuk’s door.

“You ready?” Leeteuk asked after he came out with Chanyeol.

“Ne we are. I finally find out where they go to school at after what? Like 2-3 weeks of being here?”

Leeteuk couldn’t help but laugh and Lu Han just smiled up at Henry, Chanyeol didn’t react cause he was still half asleep.

“Is Chanyeol not a morning person Leeteuk?” Henry asked as they started walking, the school was only about a 5-10 minute walk from the apartment complex.

“No I mean once we get to school he will be wide awake but he defiantly isn’t Lu Han.”

“Yeah I am special!” Lu Han shouted when he heard his name and tightened his grip on Henry’s hand. “Channie doesn’t like to be up early.”

And with in no time the 4 were at Lu Han and Chanyeol’s preschool and found Sehun already there.

“Wookie-hyung!” Henry called and as soon as Sehun turned and saw it was Henry and Leeteuk, ran over to them to say hi to his friends.

“Ah hi Leeteuk-hyung, Henry. Henry what are you doing here?”

“Zhou Mi had to go to work at 5 this morning so I had to take Lu Han to school.”

Small hands pulling on his hand, Henry looked down to see a smiling and doe eyed Lu Han. As he kneeled down before Lu Han, he felt his small arms wrap around his neck tightly in a hug.

“Lu?”

“Xiexie Henry gege for bringing me to school.”

“Awww Lu Han of course. It was fun to finally bring you here.”

“You‘ll bring me more now wont you?”

Henry was defiantly shocked.

“Shenme? You really want me to bring you here more?”

“Shi. And if you have to come with baba too.”

“Ok. I promise I will.”

Lu Han hugged him again really tightly before he said, “Henry gege I have to go now. Zaijian!!”

“Zaijian Lu Han.”

‘Why do I feel slightly sad that he is going now? Its just because his class is about to start but I miss him…’

“Ready to go Henry?”

Henry jerked and looked up to see Leeteuk standing by him with out a Chanyeol and Ryeowook walking away while waving goodbye at the duo.

“Ah ne Leeteuk-hyung.”

As they were walking back, henry thought of a question for Leeteuk.

“Leeteuk-hyung?”

“Ne?”

“Can you tell me about Chanyeol?”

“Sure, what exactly do you want to know Henry?”

“I guess mostly of how did you and Kangin-hyung adopt him?”

“Well I‘ll tell you now, I think for a couple that is 2 men, we actually were able to adopt him with minimal trouble compared to what I heard could happen.”

“Chingja?”

“Ne. it could be that he was just a baby when we adopted him. Around 4-6 months…I think close to 6 months old.”

Henry’s eyes went wide, he knew babies were often adopted but for someone as cute as Chanyeol is now and when he was a baby, cause Leeteuk had shown him before, who would want to give him up?

“Why would they want to give him up? I’ve seen his baby pictures and he was one of the cutest babies I have seen so far.”

“We don’t know. We don’t even know who his real parents are. He was just a classic case that you see in movies where the mom and/or dad just drops him on the step of a church or something, knocks and leaves without a trace.”

“Poor Chanyeol…”

“Yeah. And once he got older he didn’t even realize we weren’t his biological parents.”

“Does he know now?”

Leeteuk shook his head but paused shortly after he started, “Well we think he knows something might be up now but he hasn’t voiced any ideas about it. So still no I would say.”

“Oh.” was all Henry could force out.

‘I feel so bad for Chanyeol. I mean who would want to keep a baby for only 6 months? Either keep him a few years or drop him off a few days after he can leave a hospital. Baichi.’

“Don’t worry Henry. Even if he finds out on his own of we have to tell him, he knows we love him to death and we aren’t going to ever leave him alone again.”

Henry couldn’t help but smile at Leeteuk’s words and how determined his face looked. It made Henry want to be an appa, or even an umma, to a child of his own one day.

“So is Chanyeol his birth name?”

“Yep. Park Chanyeol.”

“Isn’t Park your last name to before you toke Kangin-hyung‘s name?”

“Yeah that was what made it funny to Kangin and I. but you know what?”

“Mwo?”

Leeteuk looked and Henry as they kept walking, “Ever since we adopted him, he has hardly cried, he is always happy and smiling. Even when he is sad he tries his best to smile.”

“Chingja?”

“Ne, that’s why we gave him the nickname Happy Virus too.”

“Happy Virus?”

“Yes cause he is always happy and when he is around people they can help but start smiling to, like his smile and happiness is contagious…”

“Or a virus that spreads.”

“Exactly.”

Both laughed especially since Henry realized how true it was.

“What things does he like?”

“He loves music, much like Lu Han, especially drums and guitars and tries to rap at times but its just to cute when he tries. And when a song he likes is playing, he will follow the rhythm with his hands.”

“Wow he seems to have an ear for music doesn’t he?”

“Ne he sure does. And much like his nickname, he is very positive, rarely does he have a negative personality.”

“That’s good to have. Be an optimist not a pesimist.”

By now, both had returned back to the aparetments and Leeteuk had to bid a goodbye, saying he had lots of cleaning to do in the apartment.

When Henry walked into the apartment, he felt weird. Many things were going throught his mind, some of which he didn’t know why.

‘Why does today seem like the apartment is more silent than usual? Because it usually is just me when Lu Han is at school and Zhou Mi at work.’

‘Why do I miss Lu Han so much? Is it just because of what he said to me this morning? It cant be…can it?’

‘How come this morning I was able to go back to sleep for a little bit while in my world, even with my friends were over and told me to go back to sleep I couldn’t? but Zhou Mi told me to and I did. Do I feel more calm around him or was that all because of all the stress I was getting?’

‘How can someone really do that to Chanyeol? He was only a baby, and a cute one. At least now he has Leeteuk-hyung and Kangin-hyung to love, care, protect and raise him the way he should be.’

　

　

‘Why do I feel like this?’

“Henry gege!!! We‘re home!!”

Henry walked out of his room to see Lu Han and Zhou Mi entering the apartment and the instant Lu Han saw Henry he ran and hugged his legs then begged cutely to go up into his arms which henry gladly accepted.

“Lu Han, any harder and you might make Henry‘s head pop off,” Zhou Mi teased but accidentally caused his son to be scared that that was actually going to happen.

“Lulu don’t worry you can pop my head off, baba is just trying to be funny and tease you.”

Lu Han stuck his tongue out as soon as his baba turned back around to look at him and then continued to hug Henry tightly.

“Henry gege I missed you today.”

Henry smiled softly upon hearing those words, “I missed you too Lu Han. It was strangly quiet here today.”

“Isn’t it usually quiet when Lu Han and I aren’t here and you aren’t with one of the other geges or dedes?”

“Yeah but…today it felt different. I don’t know why. It was so weird.”

Zhou Mi gave Henry a confused look which only made Henry respond with the same confused face because he didn’t know what he meant by it either.

“Henry do you think you might be able to stay with Lu Han tonight?”

“Don’t I always? But of course I can. Maybe I can teach him more English, right Lu Han?”

Still in his arms, Lu Han got super excited once he heard that and a big smile painted his face. “Yes! Yes!! Yay!!”

“But why Zhou Mi?”

“Cause today one coworker asked if I would like to go out with him tonight so I thought for a bit and said yes.”

Henry’s eyes widened in shock, Zhou Mi had just been asked out on a date and he was so cal about it.

“As in a date?”

“Shi.”

“Ok. Well good for you for having a date,” Henry said sincerely and smiled while Lu Han buried his face further into Henry’s neck/shoulder.

‘Does Lu Han not like the idea?’

But the fact that he was hiding his face in his neck/shoulder and he seemed to slightly tighten his grip on him confirmed it for Henry.

‘But why doesn’t he? Like the idea? Does he not want Zhou Mi to date? Or is it because he knows someone he wants him to go out with?’

That thought made Henry curious and weird as he felt something bubbling inside of him at the idea that Lu Han might have someone picked out for Zhou Mi to date and be with.

omg so sorry for the long wait. i had lost of test and some finals last week which continue this tuesday so wish me luck but here is the long awaited chapter!! <3

sorry this is so long again i will tryi to shorten the next one so i can get it up faster (but with school work and 2 other fanfics on fanfiction.net that are popular) its hard to balance. MIANHE!!!!
