Chapter 16: Chanyeol's Truth

“Appa! Its getting colder will it snow soon now?”

Henry looked down at Lu Han who was pulling on his right hand while walking home from preschool.

“No sweetie it is only the beginning of November. It wont snow till December, 1 month away.”

“Aww… so when Channie‘s birthday is?”

“Shi Lulu. Your so smart.”

It had been almost 2 months since Henry had 1^st came here and into Zhou Mi and Lu Han’s lives. Everything had been going very smooth, so smooth to where if anyone who didn’t know them were to take one look at them, you would assume they had been a family from the start.

A few minute after Henry noticed that Lu Han’s little hands started to shake and when he looked down he saw the small boy shivering.

“Oh Lu Han your shivering!”

“Meiyo appa.”

“Yes you are. Now come here sweetie.”

Henry reached down and scooped Lu Han into his arms, pulling him close to him so he could get a little bit warmer.

“Better?” Henry asked Lu Han who had buried his head in Henry’s neck and started to smile.

“Shi de, xiexie ni.”

They both walked like that till they got to the apartment and Henry had to get out the key and open the door.

“Lulu do you want some warm tea or hot chocolate?” he called out as the small boy ran to his room to change and get warm cloths on and blankets to share with Henry while watching TV.

“Hot chocolate please, appa!!”

Henry went over to the kitchen and started to get the water ready to boil for his tea and Lu Han’s hot chocolate, but he couldn’t help but think back to what Leeteuk and Kangin told him and Zhou Mi they would be doing to Chanyeol and he couldn’t help but worry.

‘Will it all go over well? I hope he doesn’t get made, Chanyeol is their life now if…’

“Appa, the whistle is going off.”

Lu Han’s small voice brought Henry out of his thoughts and he realized that the kettle was in fact going off.

“Oh thanks baby. I was thinking of something sorry. You go ahead and go get set up on the couch and ill bring out drinks.”

But Lu Han didn’t leave. “Appa, is there something wrong?”

“No…not really. I was just thinking about if my family even knows I am gone and if so how long have I been gone from there.”

‘I hate lying to him.’

Lu Han gave him this weird look, “Appa, I know your lying,” that cause Henry to gasp, “but I know you wouldn’t lie to me unless it was a good reason or if it was something only adults could talk about. But I am here for you appa. Wo ai ni.”

Henry paused in making the hot drinks to crouch down to Lu Han’s level, “How did I get so lucky to have you become my son Lu Han?”

Lu Han kissed his cheek before running into the living room while shouting, “Because I am cute!”

Zhou Mi had arrived home early since he decided to take a half day and was surprisingly welcomed by a quiet apartment and he didn’t see Henry or Lu Han yet.

‘Did they go out or something?’

It wasn’t till he noticed the TV was on and as he moved closer to the living room, he saw Henry sitting on the couch, asleep with Lu Han laying down on the couch, his head in Henry’s lap.

Zhou Mi walked over to them and gently shook Henry’s shoulder, causing him to wake up and see who it was. Seeing that it was Zhou Mi, he quietly and gently moved out from underneath Lu Han so he could stand up and gave Zhou Mi a kiss.

“Hey, when did you get home?”

“Just a minute or so ago,” Zhou Mi said as he rubbed small circles on Henry’s back, “How long has he been asleep?”

Henry glanced at Lu Han before turning back to Zhou Mi, “Since 2 I think. So 2 hours.”

Zhou Mi nodded the smiled as he kissed Henry again and asked, “What about you?”

“Uhh…maybe a half hour at least or 45 minutes. Not to long.”

“Ok. I‘ll go change and be back out to surprise Lu Han.”

Henry nodded and went and sat close to Lu Han but not on the couch, in the floor so he wouldn’t wake up the sleeping boy.

“Do you think Leetuek hyung and Kangin hyung will tell Chanyeol today like they planned?” Henry asked when he felt a pair of arms wrap themselves around Henry’s waist.

“I don’t know. Maybe unless Leeteuk hyung gets to scared of his reaction.”

“We will have to wait and see then.”

“Baba! Lets play a game with appa!”

“In a little bit Lulu.”

“Shi!”

And Lu Han ran back over to Henry to cuddle with him again but quickly ran off to his room to get something, but the peace in the apartment didn’t last to long due to them hearing someone shout, “I hate you and never want to see you again!” then a door slaming.

Zhou Mi and Henry recognized the voice as Chanyeol’s and Lu Han came to the doorway of his room startled by the sudden shouting.

Both Henry and Zhou Mi knew what that meant, Leeteuk and Kangin had told him the truth.

And soon enough their front door open to reveal a crying and mad Chanyeol who ran to Henry. Lu Han ran over to his best friend and appa to try to comfort him. Henry looked over to Zhou Mi and he motioned with his head that he was going to check on Leeteuk in a minute after he sees that Chanyeol is ok with him and Lu Han.

Henry just rubbed Chanyeols back, trying to calm him down. “Hey Channie, what’s wrong?”

He just heard a bunch of sniffling and mumbling till he heard, “I hate my umma and appa!”

“Why? Just the other day you were saying how much you love them.”

“They lied to me uncle Henry!” he shouted as he shot up in Henry’s arms, startling all 3 of them in the apartment, since Zhou Mi was seeing what Chanyeol had to say before he left to Leeteuk’s.

Lu Han was still rubbing Chanyeol’s shoulder feeling bad that his uncles had lied to him but curious as to what they lied about that got Chanyeol so upset.

“Lied to you about what?”

“Everything! About everything about me!”

Zhou Mi and Henry knew what it was they had told him but Lu Han didn’t. “But your still Park Chanyeol and uncle Teukie and uncle Kangin are still your parents…”

“No!” Lu Han jumped in shock at Chanyeol’s shout, “They arent even my real parents!”

~Flaskback~

Leeteuk was in the kitchen cleaning the dishes from earlier and Chanyeol was in the living room playing with some puzzle when Kangin arrived home from work, and Chnayeol wasted no time in running to his appa.

“Appa!”

Kangin laughed as he pick up his son into his arms, “Well hello to you to Channie.”

“I missed you.”

“I missed you too, and your umma as well. Where is he?”

“In the kitchen.”

“No I am right here,” Leeteuk said as he came out from the kitchen to sit on the couch and Kangin followed him with Chanyeol still happily in his arms.

“Hey sweetie?”

Chanyeol looked over at Leeteuk, “Yes umma?”

“Your appa and I, we want to tell you something important ok?”

Chanyeol shifted nervously but nodded anyway.

“Now before we start, we want you to know that umma and I still love you tons Channie.”

Again he nodded, not really knowing what to say, but getting more nervous and scared.

“When you were little, I didn’t exactly have you like how uncle Wookie had Sehun.”

That got Chanyeol confused cause what does that mean for him if he wasn’t born from him umma.

“We adopted you from an orphanage. Your weren’t originally our son, but we raised you since you were 3 months old.”

“Wait…I‘m not yours?”

Leeteuk and Kangin exchanged nervous glances before Kangin continued. “No, you aren’t but that doesn’t make you any less of the son you would have been if you were born to us. And we are still your parents too, we are the only ones you have ever known as your family in your life.”

“So you arent my real umma and appa?”

“Ne, sweetie. We wanted to tell you when you were older but your so smart now…”

“No…”

“What Channie?”

He squirmed out of Kangin’s arms and stood with his back facing them, but they could tell the tears were streaming down his cheeks.

Leetuek reach his hand out and put it on Chanyeol’s shoulder, but he had his hand harshly pushed away by Chanyeol.

“No.”

“Chanyeol…” Leeteuk whispered.

“I hate you and never want to see you again!” he shouted then ran away from them and out of the apartment.
