“Hey Paula, would you like to join us to go eat black bean noodles (jajangmyeon)?”

“Umm…” You looked at the floor, unable to look at your friend.

 

“What is it?”

“I…I have a date.”

 

“What?! AND YOU DIDN’T TELL ME!? HOW COULD YOU~” Your friend, Nara begun to shake you vigorously.

 

“I-I-I am sorry…” You said.

 

“Well…Good luck with your date. Is he anyone I know?” Nara patted your head.

 

“Kevin.”

“Kevin Woo? The one that you’re secretly in love with-”

 

“Nara! Shh!” You covered .

She takes away your hand and smiled.

“Finally…My little Paula has grown up huh~” She hugged you tightly.

 

“Hehe~” You chuckled.

“All the best! Hwaiting!” Nara lightly squeezed your shoulder and waved goodbye.

 

You waved back until she was gone.

 

Suddenly, your phone vibrated.

“Text…from Kevin?”

 

Paula, I hope you haven’t forgotten our meeting.

5pm at the park, okay?

I’ll be waiting. ^-^

“How can I forget?” You smiled.

 

You even prepared your outfit one day before for this date.

Your sister even got mad at you not sleeping because she was sleepy and you were still indecisive with the choosing of the outfit.

In the end, your sister helped you as well.

 

“I hope this will be alright…” You stood in front of the mirror.

“You look absolutely cute.”

 

“Huh?” It was an unfamiliar voice.

You turned around.

“You are…?”

 

“Hi. My name is Eli. And, you look great so don’t worry.” He smiled.

 

“Thank you…” You lowered your head.

“The most charming thing about a woman is that she has confidence in herself. So chin up.” He walked to you and lifted up your chin.

 

“Kevin is so lucky...” He sighed.

“You know Kevin?”

 

“Kev is my best friend here in Korea. The reason I’m here is because he have sent me to you.”

“Ah…I’m so sorry to have troubled you.”

 

“It’s nothing. I have nothing to do anyways.”

“You’re so kind. Um…if it’s okay with you…would you like to go eat jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) with my friend?”

 

“Huh? Okay.” He surprisingly agreed to it.

 

“I’ll call her now~” You took out your phone and punched the numbers.

 

“Yeoboseyo?”

“Nara~” You sung.

 

“I’ve found you a guy to accompany you to eat Black Bean noodles~”

“Yah…I’m not that desperate…”

 

“Aigoo~ just try…He looks like a really nice person.”

 

“…Is he taller than me?”

“Yes.”

 

“Okay then. Where do we meet?”

“Five. At the park near my house. The guy’s only here to fetch me to Kevin. After that you two can go eat.”

 

“Yah Paula, did you plan this beforehand? It sounds very well-planned.”

“Aniyo~ I bet you two can be a good couple~ Hehehe~”

 

“Pfft…don’t say this kind of stuff so soon.”

“I’ll meet you later, bye~” You hung up.

 

“She just knew it?” Eli chuckles.

“Yup~ Let’s go~” You smiled.

 

You were in front and Eli walks behind you.

 

“This girl…is definitely Kev’s type.” Eli mumbled to himself.

“Did you say something?” You turned back.

 

“No.” He denied straightaway.

 

You turned back to face the front and you could hear your heart beat pounding hard.

“Ah…why am I this nervous?” You try to calm yourself down …your heart just won’t listen.

“You came.” Kevin smiled.

You bit your lips and nodded, walking towards Kevin.

 

“My work’s done right?” Eli asked.

“Yes. You can go now.” Kevin waved to Eli.

 

“You…”Eli wanted to scold Kevin for abandoning him for you…but saw someone walking in his direction.

 

“Kev, good luck.” Eli punched Kevin on chest.

 

“Nara!”

You were happy that Nara showed up.

“Let’s leave those two lovebirds alone shall we?” Nara winked at you and dragged Eli with her.

 

“Nara…” You blushed.

“Paula.” Kevin called you.

 

How can one person make your name sound so special in a way that no one else can do?

“Kevin.” You tried to have eye contact with him but his smiling face is too much for you to handle.

 

“Paula, are you not feeling well?” Kevin lifted your chin to see your face.

Your face became a darker shade of pink.

 

“You’re heating up…” Kevin puts the back of his hand on your forehead.

 

“I’m fine…”

“If you’re sick, don’t push yourself just tell okay?” Kevin patted you on the head.

You nodded.

 

“Paula, I have never told you this…your blushing face is really cute.” Kevin said, while you guys were walking.

 

“N-no…I’m not cute.” You denied shyly.

 

He chuckled, grabs your hand and swings it.

 

“Ah…he’s holding my hand!” You bit your lips too keep yourself calm.

“Is this uncomfortable for you?” He asked.

 

“Ani.” You shook your head.

 

Does this mean…he likes me?

 

Then, it started to drizzle.

“Paula, take this.” Kevin took out his jacket and placed it above you.

 

“But what about you?”

“I’m alright.”

 

“Kevin…”

“It’s okay. Let’s find a shelter as fast as possible.” Kevin flashed another smile.

 

You two finally reached the outside of a restaurant.

“Let’s go in~” Kevin titled his head to the side and he looks so cute!

 

You can’t help but want to follow him.

 

“Table for two?” The waiter asked.

“Ne.” Kevin replied.

 

The waiter took a menu and handed it to you two,

 

Before you two can even see what to order, the waiter says “For a cute couple, why don’t you two try the special couple dinner?”

 

“Paula is that okay with you?”

“Yes.” You don’t mind actually, just having Kevin here with you is bliss.

 

“We’ll have it then. Thanks.” Kevin confirmed with the waiter.

The waiter bows and left.

 

You looked at Kevin and he looks back at you.

Then, you suddenly remembered something.

 

“Kevin, this.” You took out a blue box from your bag.

 

It’s what you’ve tried to make with all your hard work.

 

“Whoa…”Kevin opened the box.

“I hope you like it…”

 

“Pizza?!” Kevin looks at it then looks at you, with his eyes shimmering.

“Paula…Thank you so much!” He looks like he’s about to cry.

 

“Ahh! Please don’t cry!” You panicked.

“I won’t. Not in front of the girl I like.” Kevin smiled.

Did he just…

 

“There’s a game especially made for couples.”

You two looked up at the waiter who just ruined your moment.

 

“You can try to p-play it while w-waiting for food…”

The waiter stuttered as Kevin shot him a glare.

 

“I’m s-sorry.” He bowed and left.

 

“Kev, he’s only doing his job…” You said.

“What’s this game…?” Kevin looks at the “game”.

 

It was something like the wheel of fortune. But smaller.

 

You turned the wheel and it spins.

 

Then, it stops at the sign that wrote “Apple of my eyes.”

 

“What does it mean?” You were puzzled.

“It means you have to kiss your partner on the eye.” The waiter said and hurriedly left.

 

“W-what is this…” You gulped…can you? Will Kevin let you?

“It’s just a game~ I’m okay with it.”

 

Suddenly, the restaurant started to dim down it’s lights.

And violin and piano pieces were played.

 

Kevin smiled and whispered, “Paula, I’m waiting~”

He closed his eyes.

 

Your lips on his eye…it’s not on the lips so it should be alright…right?

 

You became a tad nervous again as you leaned down.

 

Closer…closer…touched.

 

It was a peck.

Kevin opened one of his eyes.

 

“Only one?” He teased.

“Kevin!” You blushed.

 

He laughs and returned to his original position.

 

His turn to spin the wheel again.

 

“To love, is to give.”

 

“I know this one, it means I’ll have to give you a gift? Argh…too bad I didn’t prepare anything…” Kevin pouted.

 

Kevin saw your slight disappointment and decided to do something…special.

 

“Paula, I’ll go to the washroom…”

You nodded.

 

It took Kevin quite a while but when he was back, everything was served.

 

“Yay~ Let’s eat!” You tried to make it less obvious that you were a bit bored because of waiting.

“I’m so sorry to have taken this long…” Kevin bowed.

 

“It’s okay~ “

After finishing the main dishes, only the desserts were left.

 

But you guys were too full so you told the staffs to serve it later.

 

“Paula~” He sung your name.

“Ne?”

 

He gives you a rose.

“Aw…thanks-”

 

He changed the rose into petals and blew it at you.

Then he clenched his fist and let goes…

 

A necklace fell out from his hand but he holds on to it.

 

It was a necklace with a rose pendant.

The pendant had your name on it.

 

“Kevin…you shouldn’t have…” You were touched.

“Just thank me here~” He points to his nose.

 

A nose kiss?!

Aigoo~ You chuckled a bit at Kevin’s and leaned closer to Kevin.

 

You were one inch away from him now.

That nervous feeling started again.

 

“Hey Paula?”

“Yeah?”

 

“I really really like you.”

He moves up and kisses you on the lips.
