“Be safe, okay?” Jieun looked deeply into Tao’s eyes, she felt tears rolling down her face “I’ll be fine sweetie; I’ll be back as soon as you know it.” Tao kneeled down looking at his son Leo.

“Appa, you promise you’ll come back?” Leo looked at him, Tao looked at Jieun and back to Leo, “I promise I will be back, okay? Don’t you worry about me.” Tao gave a long hug towards Leo that made him not what to let go.

Tao got up and felt the pain in his knees that he knew that he’d been hugging Leo for a while. Tao looked towards Kris, “This is it man.” Kris opened his arms to give Tao a hug, they hugged for a while and Kris whispered “Don’t get yourself killed.” They broke apart and Tao just nodded his head.

Jieun, Leo and Kris saw the last of Tao. He went off to war, so Kris was looking after Leo while Jieun was working.

“Appa will be fine, right?” Leo asked Jieun. Jieun didn’t know what to say, “Of course he is buddy! Like he said, he promised he’ll come back. Keep your head up, he’ll come back.” Kris said to Leo, Leo felt better he nodded and kept walking towards the car.

They drove away from the airport, and the car ride was awkward and silent. Looking at the snow fall down onto the car, Kris driving along and having Leo and Jieun in the back sleeping.

If Tao was gone, Kris wouldn’t know how to look after Jieun and Leo. Kris been in a few relationships before, but never got married. Kris has always stuffed up on relationships, that’s why he won’t know how to look after these two. Leo will end up growing up with no father.
