Jaejoong’s POV

Surprisingly, Junsu, who usually shows up the last in the cafeteria, was the first one to arrive. His face was beaming; I knew right away that something good must have happened between him and Yoochun. Jieun, who now usually eat lunch with us, notice too, I think. Her eyes moved from me to Junsu and then back at me as if asking me a question.

I opted to wait for Junsu to break the good news or whatever it is he looks very happy about but no, he didn’t look like he’s about to say anything any time soon. When I couldn’t take it anymore, I decided to just ask. “Junnie-ah, spill it. Now.”

Putting on a confused look, Junsu tilted his head up and asked me back. “Spill what, hyung?”

As he said that he lifted his hand up, the one he kept hidden since he arrived and stirred the soup he has in front of him. That’s when I noticed something on his finer. My eyes widen as realization hit me. Jieun saw it too since we we’re both sitting in front of Su, and she quickly grabbed Junsu’s hand nearly causing the warm soup to spill.

“Oppa..you…” Junsu’s face was shocked at first, then his lips started to curve into the widest and brightest smile as he look down on his fingers where my attention is. Our dear duck didn’t need to say more as we moved into his side of the table, pulling him into a tight hug.

“Congratulations, oppa.” Jieun said which I followed with “I’m so happy for you.”

We we’re still hugging Junsu when Yunho and Changmin finally came back to the table with our foods.

“What’s going on here?”

“Chunnnie and Junsu are engaged!” I answered happily. Yunho turned to Yoochun, who had suddenly had a proud look on his face, for a confirmation. I felt happy and excited at the thought of my two bestest bestfriends finally settling down. Those two have been together for so long, gone some not so good stages in their relationship, it’s about time!

My last class had just finished and knowing the others schedule, I’m sure I’ll be alone for a couple of minutes before Yunho, or any of the others join me. Busy exchanging SMS and playing with my phone, I didn’t notice the lone figure that’s sitting on the beach our group always occupies. I only became aware of it when I finally slipped my phone in the pants pocket. “Lee Junki ssi?”

Junki’s head turned, his attention drawn away from the book he is reading. “Oh, Jaejoong ah…”

Taking smaller steps, I moved forward. Placing my bag down in between us, I sat on the edge of the bench. “What are you doing here alone? Does Wookie know you’re here?”

“Uhm, yeah.. he’s…I’m actually waiting for him. He said he needs to talk to some of his friends.”

I nodded my head. “I see.”

Both of us went silent for a moment before he spoke again. “How long have you known Dongwook?”

“A couple of months.” I answered, glancing at him.

“You’ve known him longer than I do.” He uttered. I can feel the sadness in his voice. “And I’m supposed to be his brother.”

“Well, you two are getting along pretty well from what I can see.”

“Yeah. It’s a big adjustment… to suddenly become a brother when you’ve lived all your life without having one.”

Junki and I talked casually from then. This is actually the first time that we’re alone together. Usually, we have the others around us.

“Boo!” Both of our heads turned when out of nowhere, Yunho’s voice echoed in the air, calling for my name.

“Annyeong, Junki ssi.” He greeted Junki with a slight bow of his head. Junkis did the same in return. Yunho and I didn’t stay long with Junki since Dongwook arrived, too, shortly after Yunho did. And I’m glad for that.

“You two make a beautiful couple, Boo.” Yunho commented once Wook and Junki had left. I stopped from picking my things up and side glanced at him. He had a comical look on his face but his tone was serious, I’m not sure if he is indeed serious or joking around. “What? I’m just saying my observation.”

“Oh, shut up!” I said, rolling my eyes as I started walking away from him. “You could have just said you felt jealous when you saw us.”

“Me? Jealous? Of who? Junki?” Yunho put a horrified look on his face. “Why would I be jealous when I know how crazy in-love you are with me?”

Turning around, I started walking backward so I’m still facing him. “Oh yeah? From what I know, you’re just as crazy with me… if not a whole lot crazier”

With the grin that appeared on his face, I knew that I won our argument. “I thought so!! I said, turning around once again.

Shaking his head Yunho jogged towards me. Once he’s reached where I am now, his hand went over my shoulder. “Let’s have some tea, shall we?”

“Let’s go.”

Yunho’s POV

With a loud grunt, I finally got out of bed and opened the door for whoever was knocking from the other side. The sleepiness was feeling was gone all of a sudden when I saw who’s standing by the doorway. “Mr. Kim?”

“May I come in?” I hesitated, and he knew it. “It’s alright if I can’t. I’d understand.”

And dang I felt guilty so I opened the door wider. “No..it’s… please, do come in.”

I excused myself for a couple of minutes. Now, dressed more decently, I sat across Heechul looking very uncomfortable. Who wouldn’t? I mean, he did try to kiss me a few days ago. It shocked me since I hadn’t expected him to pull anything like that after being…acquainted with him since I started training on their family’s hotel. I mean, he’s almost like a friend if one will see us eating lunch with him at work, like there was nothing bad that happened between him and Jae that involves another person namely called Lee Junki.

“I ah… I wanted to apologize…for the other day. I know I didn’t really make a good impression on you the first we met.” He started after a while. I’m glad he spoke first or we’ll spend the next I don’t know how long staring at anywhere than the other. “I don’t know what came over me… and there’s no excuse for how I acted so all I can say is sorry. I really am sorry, Yunho-ssi. I hope this won’t stop you from being friends with me.”

I kept quiet for a while. Then I looked up at his face seeing sincerity there. It was quite a surprising sight, I mean, sure he’s been acting weirdly nice but the other side of him that I first saw him was still in my head. Then again, who am I to deny him the forgiveness he’s asking for me. He was humble enough to come to me just to apologize that should be enough. Besides, I was thinking that if I can be friends with Heechul, maybe he and Jae can, too.

I accepted his apology and a smile, the smile that doesn’t usually appear on his face, formed on his lips. “Thank you, Yunho. You don’t know just how much you made me happy.” He paused, “To make it up for disturbing you in your sleep, Yunho-ssi, will you go out with me?”

I nearly choke on my own spit. Did he just ask me to go out with him? What is this guy thinking?!

“I mean, out, for a coffee. Since I woke you up, you obviously haven’t had breakfast, right?

“Oh.” He meant that kind of going out. Whew!

Few minutes later, I found myself having breakfast inside a coffee shop with Heechul.

Making friend is never a bad thing. I hope making friends with Heechul is not a bad thing.

Later that afternoon when I met up with Jae I told him about Heechul except for the part of him trying to kiss me. I was called to the manager’s office a lot time during our raining. Before I disappeared into Heechul’s office, I’d see that look on Jae’s eyes. That look of fear and insecurity, sometimes that look of wanting to ask questions. It would only be there for a brief moment then it’ll disappear from the happy face he’d put on. I knew better. Remembering those look on his face held me back from telling him about the almost kiss with Heecul.

“Say something, Boo.” I said softly. He went silent after I was finished and I didn’t like that silence. He kept playing with the food on his plate. I was starting to think that telling him about it wasn’t a good idea.

“What do you want me to say, Yunho?” Thanks goodness he finally talked!

“Anything. Just say something”

“I have nothing to say.” He answered calmly, lifting his fork up and twirling it.

“Boo…”

“Yunho, it’s fine. Stop worrying. I’m not angry, if that’s what you’re thinking.”

“So you’re okay if I became friends with Heechul?”

“Duh! He’s been eating with us for the past weeks, did I even tried to pull his head off?”

I chuckled.” Well, no…but you’ve probably thought about doing so.”

“Well, you can’t blame me… especially if he’s always calling you to his office. I mean, we’re only trainees in the hotel after all so what could you possibly doing in there all the time.”

He continued to mumble, so I sat back and watch in amusement.

“…but I trust you. And that’s all that matters to me.” He finished, I smiled.

Jaejoong’s POV

Being with Yunho for the past couple of months has been nothing but a great experience for me. Sometimes, I can’t even believe that I have this imperfectly perfect relationship with Yunho, if that makes any sense. We’re the same as any other couple. We fight. We argue. Sometimes we don’t talk for a couple of hours but in the end, everything still ends up well. There were a couple of times that I’d pinch myself secretly, just to make sure I’m not just imagining these few months. Just like an idiot, of course I’d yelp in pain that I’ve inflicted upon myself and smile. This is as real as it can get!
