Chapter 13

Mending a Broken Heart(REPOST)

Changmin’s POV

I smiled as I walked into my brother’s room. After he and Yunho-hyung started talking again, acting and hanging out like nothing ever happened between them, he became the once cheerful Hyung I have back before he meet the bastard.

With a pair of earphone plugged on his ears, I was able to come in unnoticed. His back was facing the door so I can only smile evilly as I silently observe him, tiptoeing towards him. Tapping his pen on the study table or biting on its end, Hyung bobbed his head at the music playing on his ipod. One would have to be blind to not see the happiness in his eyes and I couldn’t be happier that I am right now.

Deciding to finally make myself known, I tap on my brother’s shoulder, startling him.

“Changmin!” Pulling the plugs off his ear, Hyung closed his notebook, facing me. “What are you doing here?”

Sitting at the edge of his bed, I shoved some of the books on his bed aside, making some space for myself to lie down on. “What? Now, I’m not allowed to come to your room?”

“Just spill it. You just don’t come in my room at…” He found the clock on the wall. “…ten in the evening for nothing.”

Hyung slapped me lightly on the shoulder. His face had slowly turned red from the scrutinizing look I’m giving him at the moment. “Ok, Changmin, seriously, I thought you’d gone to bed?”

“Well, I decided that I can’t sleep unless I’ll sleep here with you.” I my side, hugging one of the hotdog pillows. I rolled my eyes when my brother didn’t even bother pushing me back to my room like he’ll usually does, His fingers already busy pressing on the keypad of his phone with a silly grin on his face. “I won’t even ask who you’re sending that message to.”

Hyung turned to me, biting his lower lip in an attempt to suppress his smile. “Just go to bed and stop talking, Minnie.”

I cringed at the nickname I hated. Sticking my tongue out at my brother, I turned away from him, finally drifting off to sleep.

Just like Jae-hyung, Yunho-hyung wasn’t acting any different. Everyone will able to tell how happy he is just by seeing his face. His every action just screams happiness. It’s as if he doesn’t have a single problem. From all of my observations, I couldn’t complain, could I? It just feels good to see him back to his old cheerful self. Seeing him looking so down for a few weeks wasn’t a very nice to look at.

When I first recognized Yunho-hyung being the guys that YooSu hyung dared my brother to ask for his name and number for, I told myself that I’d plot something, anything, with the help of the rabbit couple of course, just to get them together. I guess, God has other plans for me because thinking back, we haven’t really done anything yet. Everything that happened between them just…happened.

“Aaawww…” My head jerked up only to find Yunho-hyung reaching for his back looking like he’s in pain.

“Hyung, what happened to you?”

“Practice.” He simply said. “The dance instructor’s such…”

“Don’t even trying to say it, Hyung.” I pointed at myself. “Children around no swearing, please.” I only grinned when he rolled his eyes.

“Children my…” I raised my hands up immediately stopping him right before he finished.

“Aish! You really shouldn’t be hanging around with Yoochun Hyung. Bad words come smoothly out of your mouth now.”

Taking a few step backward, readying myself to run for my life, just in case. “Hyung won’t be happy when he finds out he’s beloved boyfriend’s been killing himself.”

As much as I enjoy teasing both Yunho-hyung and my brother, I wouldn’t want to die from the deadly glare the former’s giving me.

You see, my two oldest Hyung just needed a little more push from the MinSu tandem (known simply as me and Junsu in broad daylight) till they finally make everything between them legal. They’ve been pretty much acting like a couple now, just without the public making out (though I doubt they’ll be doing out even if everything’s legal as I’ve already mention) the YooSu couple enjoys doing. They’d hold hands sometimes but quickly let go once when they realize we’re around them. From what I understood from what my hyung told me, they’ve agreed to be like on a starting stage again and just let things work out for themselves. I noticed that Jae-hyung had gradually come out of the wall he’d built around himself, only to be wrapped by the love offered by Yunho-hyung. I know that it won’t be long till we see them together. Happy.

Jaejoong’s POV

“Promiisseeee.” I said one last time to Suri before I was finally able to hang up the phone. That girl, whom Yunho and I agreed to visit after class, wouldn’t let me go off, not until I promised that we’ll really be coming over to their house. I can only imagine how Yunho feels for not being able to pay her a visit earlier like he promised. Like we promised before everything just went a little crazy between us.

We could have gone straight ahead since we shared the last class today but the class hasn’t even been going for an hour when the members of the dance club where called for an unexpected meeting. Excused from the class, Yunho and I agreed to just meet up at dance hall and that’s where I’m heading to right now.

Turning down the hallway, I smiled/bowed to greet some of the students I bumped into, whether I know them or not. My face was bright the whole time, only turning sour when I finally spotted Yunho right away… with Choi Siwon…again.

Don’t get me wrong, Choi Siwon’s a pretty nice guy, He’s so much like Yunho when we first met him. It’s just that sometimes; I couldn’t help but feel jealous when he’s with us or whenever he disappears with Yunho for another dance practice. I know that I don’t exactly have the right to feel that way but I do.

Yunho introduced him to us a few days after we finally patch things up. I found it amusing then how shy he was just like Yunho. He’s like this little boy he hides behind his parent’s back whenever he come face to face new people. Yunho told me he was acting the same when they first met. Apparently, he was so nervous around us because he’s just the nerd and we’re like the popular group. Imagine how much we laugh at that. We’re supposedly the popular ones and we didn’t even know.

Back to the studio, I could see Yunho standing beside Siwon with he’s arms over the other’s shoulder. And once again, I can’t help but feel jealous, especially since Choi Siwon seems to be enjoying being that near to Yunho. It’s funny (oh! No! it’s not!) how I was the one who made the decision of how we’re supposed to be now, Yunho and I and yet I’m the one who couldn’t contain myself.

I would have left and pretend I never came looking for him when I hear him call me from behind. “Jaejoong-ah.”

Greeting the other people in the room, and that includes Siwon before I turned to face Yunho asking him if he’s ready to go.

“Where are we going?” I bit at my lower lips, staring at his face which seems to be devoid of any recollection of the plan we made.

“Does Suri ring a bell?”

“Oh! Shoot! I almost forgot about that.”

Choi Siwon must be occupying his mind for him to forget when we just talked about it early this morning. “It’s alright.” I took my phone out of my pocket, ready to dial the number to the Lee’s residence and disappoint Suri by telling her we won’t be coming. Or… “I can go there alone.” I can hear the disappointment in my own voice.

“You should go back in.” Throwing him one last smile, I started to step away from Yunho only to be pulled into a halt by Yunho.

“No. We’ll go there together.” He looked back at the call from their instructor. “But you’ll have to wait for a few more minutes.”

Nodding, I refuse to go in the room full of sweat covered dancers instead choosing to just wait outside the dance room. Ten minutes later, we we’re off to go.

+++++++++++++++++++++++

“Hey! You still angry?” Yunho poked at my side as I pressed the doorbell to the Lee’s making me twitch suddenly.

“I’m not angry, Yunho.” I answered, looking up to the maid who opened the gate for us. Ushering us inside the house, Suri came running to welcome us with a hug.

“Oppa!” She wrapped her small arms around Yunho’s neck a little too tightly depriving Yunho of air.

Chucking, I tried to save Yunho’s life. “Ah, Suri-yah, you don’t want to kill Yunho-oppa now, do you?”

Suri let go of Yunho’s neck immediately. The little fight we had earlier was put aside for a while as Suri took most of our attention. Yunho eyes wondered around the house. His eyes couldn’t hide how much the house awed him.

Just like before, we spent most of the time in the huge garden. Mr. and Mrs, Lee could only attend to us for a little while for they had to leave for a business trip to Canada.

“Oppa…” Suri shook Yunho’s arm. “Did you and Jae Oppa fight before?”

I can already feel the heat going up to my face. Pretending I didn’t hear the question, I took a sip of the fresh juice they served us, hoping to hide the blush on my face.

Yunho took a quickl glance at me before he turned to face Suri again. “No. Why?”

Pouting, Suri answered in between chewing his sandwich. “When Jae Oppa visited me before he looked so sad, he said you were busy.”

Yunho sent me a questioning look. “Oh… maybe Jae Oppa was sad because I wasn’t able to go with him.”

Suri beamed as Yunho grinned and I turned into a ripe tomato if that’s even possible. I know Suri’s just a curious child who speaks her mind with no intention of doing anyone any harm but I wished she’ll have here questions be about something else than Yunho and I. “I think Yunho-oppa’s right. Jae Oppa must love Yunho-oppa so much he always wants you to be with him!”

I think the juice I was so busy drinking came out of my mouth instead og going down to my stomach. Coughing, I wiped the side of my mouth with the tale napkin. And as much as there’s truth to that (in which I won’t admit, of course), I felt like I want to kill Yunho when he spoke again.

“Maybe…” He nodded in agreement. “But Suri-yah, Oppa is angry at me right now…” He gave that puppy look that I always fall for but that was a wrong move on his side. Now I can turn on the table and have a comeback.

“Oppa, why are you angry at him?”

“Well, wouldn’t you be angry at Oppa too if he forgot that we’re supposed to be visiting you today? If I didn’t come for him, Jaejoong-oppa will probably be the only one who’s with you right now.

Suri placed her hands on his waist, turning abruptly to face the now horrified looking Yunho. “You forgot Suri, Oppa?!”

“I did not!” Yunho tried to smile. Hah! That serves him right. “…it just kind of slipped my mind.”

“It’s just the same as forgetting it, Yunho.” I quickly added, enjoying the sight in front of me. Suri acted like she’s about to cry and Yunho’s panicking. If that little girl didn’t wink at me, I would be on my two feet and try to stop her from crying even before she can do so.

A moment later, I found myself in the kitchen trying to bake something edible. Baking isn’t a hard task for me but when there’s a young girl and a MAN behind, playing with dough and flour behind you, then it becomes a hard thing to do.

I shouldn’t really have volunteered to bake something if I knew Yunho will use that as his chance to have his revenge on me, creating this much of a mess in the Lee’s kitchen.

Glaring back at them, Suri quickly busied herself with the molder she’s using to give shape to her cookies as Yunho whistled as he was STILL kneading the dough.

“Yunho-ah, are you done playing with that yet?” I asked, taking another batch of cookies from the over.

“I’m still thinking what I should do with these…”

“Oppa, let’s make them into smileys!” Suri suggested but Yunho quickly objected saying he finally thought of what to do. I stared at Yunho for a while, only turning around to hide the smile that formed in my lips. I never thought Yunho could still look sizzling hot in an apron, especially if it’s a pink one.

“Yunho loves Jaejoong.” Sur exclaimed after a while, clapping her hands happily. Sending Yunho a deadly glare I walked towards the table they’re working on and found the dough shaped into a heart separating our names.

Grinning, Yunho stood up straight, proud of what he did. “Of course! Yunho and Jaejoong-oppa are friends. And friends are supposed to love each other. Right, Jae?”

Placing one hand on his back, making it look like I was patting him on the shoulder, I secretly pinch Yunho in the back, making him wince in the slight pain I inflicted before I smiled to Suri. “That’s right.”

+++++++++++++++

Yunho nudged me for the second time that evening. After eating the cookies we made including the one Yunho made, we decided to just take the short walk to the bus station. The maids offered to call a cab for us but we decided we’ve already done much trouble for the day. Putting Suri to sleep, we finally left the Lee’s past dinner.

“You’re angry at me again, huh?”

“No.”

“Then why the long face? You didn’t like the cookies I made?” His sounded like he’s joking but Yunho’s face tells me that he’s not.

“You shouldn’t have pulled a stunt like that, Yunho.”

“Why not? I can’t show you how I feel now?”

Aish! Now he sounded mad. Damn it!

“Yunho, no… that’s not what I mean… aawww!” I felt my face get squeezed between his palms before running off to the now waiting bus.

“YAH!!!” I shouted as I was glued on the ground. Laughing Yunho jogged back, pulling me with him.

“Let’s go. We might miss the bus.” Pouting (my not so obvious way of acting cute), I let myself be pulled towards the miss the bus. Luckily, we didn’t.

Getting in the bus and finding a seat at the back, I suddenly felt tired. Sitting beside Yunho, occupying the seat next to the window, I battled with myself if I’d sleep through the whole half an hour ride or just stay awake. Deciding to just take a nap, I leaned my head against the window. After a while, I felt Yunho tilt my head, letting me rest against is chest.

“Take a rest, Jaejoong-ah. I’ll wake you up once we’re there.” Yunho’s soothing voice was the last thing I heard, the warmth of his body seeping into mine. Smiling, I cuddled closer to him, letting his scent the last scent I smelled before I finally drifted off to sleep.
