Chapter 19

Mending a Broken Heart(REPOST)

Yunho’s POV

“Then I wouldn’t get to spend the rest of the day with you?” I pouted even more as Jae only laughed at my sulking form.

“I hate to say it but nope, you won’t.”

“Just when I thought I’d have more time with you today.” That I can give you more time, I added in my head as I sigh in frustration.

“Too bad, eh?” Jae grinned as I pulled him closer, trapping him between my legs. Cupping his face with the curve of my palm, I pulled him down for a kiss which he gladly accepted.

Leaning his body against mine as he sat down beside me, I rested my chin on the crook of his neck, one arm placed snugly on his side.

“Have you seen Chun and Junsu?” He asked after a while, cocking his head on the side to look at me.

“Surprisingly, no… not together… but I did bump into Junsu earlier. He looks like he’s been crying.”

The image of Junsu’s stricken face when I bumped into him in the men’s room earlier this morning flashed in my head that moment. His shoulder slumped down and the usual all so happy greeting he’d throw at us (or anyone) didn’t happen like I expected. “Do you think something happened between those two?”

“Most probably, yes. They we’re kind if ignoring each other when we left the house. Actually, they seem to be ignoring each other since last night. I just thought they had a fight but would have fixed whatever it is in the morning

“That’s…. weird” I said, my voice has the same worried tone on Jae’s. Our little together time was soon interrupted with the shrilling sound of Jae’s phone.

I watched and listened as Jaejoong flipped his phone open, answering the phone call. Nodding, Jae turned to me with an apologetic look, looking at me with an apologetic look.

“I’ll have to take my leave now.” I held on his hand tighter. “Yunho…”

“Fine, I’ll let you go now. Take care driving.”

Seriously, of all the days that Jae had to do something else, why did it have to be today? Why not Monday or Tuesday or any other day of the week except for today! OR it at least make it a project that we both needed to do and do it together.

With one last kiss, Jae disappeared down the hallways as I walked down the opposite direction. Whistling a tune, I stopped on my track; turning to see if it was I really Yoochun I saw inside a vacant room I just passed by. He had chairs aligned next to each other and used it as a temporary bed by the looks of it. His arms were crossed over his each other on his flat stomach his chest moving up and down. He looks very much asleep. I walked in the room not making much noise and managed to stand just beside him without having him woke up. I lifted the book that was covering his face and gently shook at his shoulder. Waking this young man up proves to be a difficult task considering how much of a heavy sleeper he is so imagine my surprise when it didn’t take me at least half an hour to shake the sleep off of him.

Yoochun’s head lifted, his hands rubbing at his eyes. “Oh, hyung?”

“What are you doing here sleeping?” I asked.

“Prof. Shin didn’t come in for the last period so I ended up here. I didn’t want to go home yet.”

I kept the questions I wanted to ask and chose to remain silent instead. I finally noticed the redness of his eyes and decided that maybe asking just one simple question wouldn’t hurt. “Where’s Junsu?”

Instead of answering, Yoochun only gave me a faraway look before he got up from his now half lying, half sitting position. Standing up, he left without another word, leaving me with more questions. Few minutes later

Since I got more time on my hands, I was planning to just go in to work today (though, today is one of those days that Appa Park and I agreed that I wouldn’t work) but seeing Junsu earlier looking like he’d run out of tears to cry and Yoochun not looking any different, I decided I’d keep stay behind him.

“Yoochun-ah, Hyung!” Dongwook called making Yoochun and I stop and turned, leaving a few steps distance between us

Ah, Dongwook! I never expected I’d make a really close friend with this guy since we generally hang out with a totally different group of people. All the talks about how much of a bad guy he is isn’t true at all. In fact, he’s quite far from the Dongwook that people would tell you him to be. No wonder, that even if we don’t hang out as much as I do with the others, we still clicked together, did he with the others.

Yunho forced a smile on his lips. A smile that didn’t reached his eyes though you’ll know he’s pleased to see our friend. Yoochun bowed his head a bit to Dongwook as the other man walked closer and it was at that same moment that Dongwook gave me a questioning look.

“What happened to him?” He mouthed.

“I’m still trying to figure that out.” I mouthed back.

A look of concern crossed his face before he jogged back to his other friends then back. “Let’s go.”

======================

The VIP room that we ended up in spared our poor ears from the loud music of the bar Dongwook had taken us, a place he hangs out every once in a while. Since none of us has anything else to do if we went home and of course, Yoochun voiced out his unwillingness to go home. There weren’t a lot of people yet when we arrived but now I have to squeeze myself into the crowd as if I want to go somewhere else in this club aside from just staying inside the VIP room. I couldn’t help the sigh that left my mouth as I watch Yoochun flirt with random girls openly.

“Looks like their fight’s pretty serious, hyung.” Dongwook leaned over me, with glass in his hands.

“Yep.”

“You know, it was weird seeing one of them looking like someone just died.”

“Chun won’t talk. Yet.” I looked up in time to see Yoochun kiss a girl fully on the lips while his hands rubbing at the small of the back of another girl.

Dongwook cringe at the sight of Yoochun almost making out with the women. “Maybe, bringing Chun here isn’t such a good idea.” He spoke, his voice sounded apologetic.

I waved off Dongwook’s words, assuring him that trying to help his friend isn’t a bad thing. Yoochun was nowhere to be seen when he lifted our attention back up.

“I’ll go look for him.” Dongwook placed his hand on my shoulder as he stood up, motioning for me to just answer my phone.

It was Junsu on the phone, calling to check on Yoochun but not wanting the other guy to know. I have called him earlier and told him that we’re with his boyfriend.

“No.” Junsu answered when I asked him if he wanted me to get Yoochun (though I had no idea where that guy is right now). “It’s okay, hyung. I just wanted to check on him. He won’t be happy if he sees me there.” Was Junsu court reply when I asked him if he wanted to come.

“Are you sure?”

“Neh.” I heard the soft sob that escaped his mouth but Junsu spoke again. “I…need to get off the phone now, hyung.”

“Junsu ya…”

“I’m fine, Yunho-hyung. Don’t worry about me. Just make sure that Chunnie will be alright.”

“Don’t worry about him.”

“Thanks, hyung.” The dial tone that I heard after that told me Junsu had ended our conversation. I sat there, waiting for Dongwook to come back with Yoochun with him. A few minutes have passed before I decided that I better look for my two younger friends.

My head started spinning after a while, not only because of trying to find my Chun and Dongwook but also because of the alcohol I’ve drank. As I was making my way in to the men’s room, I someone else’s voice and found two guys, one being held up by the other against the wall. Without a second thought, I’d yanked the other guy away from the blonde one. When he tried to pulled away, turning to probably hot me, I acted on reflex and had given the guy a punch on his face (making my fist aching so badly afterwards). Wiping the blood from the side of his mouth, the guy looked at me.

“We’re not done yet,!” He warned towards the other man who was now sitting on the floor, the color on his face finally coming back.

I held out my hand for the man to take as I pulled him up off the floor.

“Thanks, dude.” The other finally looked up finally giving me a chance to see his face. He probably noticed the surprised looked on my face that his browse moved before a smile broke on his lips. It was almost the same smile he had on his face that day when I first saw him in that grocery store… with Jae. The only difference is his smile wasn’t mocking like before.

“So, we meet again, handsome.” Oops! I guess, it’s only the smile that was different “”I ah… Sorry about the last time. That wasn’t a very good way to meet each other for the first time. Let me introduced myself properly.”

“I’m Kim Heechul.”

I stared at his offered hand contemplating if I should accept his hand or not. After all, I did feel a little disliking towards the man after seeing the way he talked with Jae back that one time But then again, I shouldn’t act like a total jerk towards him. Kim Heechul didn’t do anything bad at me, at least not directly, to act rude.

“Yunho. Jung Yunho.” I answered after a while, taking his hands and shaking it.

“Would you mind if I ask you for a drink?”

“I ah…”

“Please? ”

I nodded.

======================

Warning! Don’t get fooled by Yoochun’s not so fat looking physique ‘coz the guys VERY heavy. When Downgwook finally gave me a ring and told me the both of them are kind of in trouble (because of a drunk Yoochun’s doing) I immediately got out of the bar and found them at some dark alley just near the bar we we’re in. Dongwook looked fine with some visible bruises on his face, gotten from fighting with a bigger guy earlier as he told me. One of the girls that Chun was flirting with has a boyfriend and when he saw them kissing of course the boyfriend went mad and well, he and Chun got into a fight, Dongwook tried to stop them but got into the fight as well and the rest is history.

By the time I managed to put Chun down on MY bed, I was exhausted. “I never though Chun is this heavy. Or maybe it’s just the amount of alcohol he’d taken that’s making him heavy.” I said as I watch Dowgwook rubbing at his back. Now, I’m feeling guilty got driving us back to my place. I should have did the honor of driving seeing how he’d gotten hurt from the fight they had and Chun just had to punch him, he’s probably dreaming and thinks he’s still fighting that’s why.

“Why don’t you go home now, too? You look drained. Or you can stay here too.” I offered.

“Nah! I’m alright, hyung it’s you I’m worried about. You sure you can take Chun from here? He might just give you a blow too, you know.” He chuckled.

“I can always punch him back to sleep if he does that.”

Dongwook reached for his jacket he’d placed on my end of my bed and stood up. “Then, I shall be making my exit now.”

I closed the door and plopped myself down on the sofa bed. Yoochun had taken my bed and is now sleeping soundly. My phone started ringing just when I’d pulled a blanket up over my chest. Smiling at the name showing on the screen, I shook the sleep off of my head before I flipped it open and answered. “Hey, Boo.”

Jae’s soft voice spoke from the other line.”Yah! You sound so tired. Are you guys home already?”

“Yeah, we’re home.”

“How’s Chunnie?”

“He’s…” I glanced behind me, towards the bed. “..completely passed out in my bed. He didn’t want to be taken home.”

“Those two are making me worried.” I can hear Jae let out a tired sigh.

“Don’t worry about them too much. They’ll be fine. Whatever’s going on between them, I’m sure they’ll work it out.”

No answers just the sound of a paper being crimpled.

“How’s your report’s going on? I asked.

“Oh… We’re almost done. We all want to have it done by tomorrow so we might have to stay up late tonight. The sooner we finish, the sooner we can get back with our own lives.”

Jae’s soft laugh sounded as I chuckled then I paused. Should I tell him about Heechul now? No. Maybe it’s not a good idea. I’d rather that I tell him in person that over the phone. He’ll probably go crazy, won’t be able to help much with their project and we’ll end up in a fight again and I don’t want that. With my silence, Jae probably thought I’m already half asleep.

“Hey, you should go to sleep now.”

Even with Jae not being able to see it, I pouted my lips. “But I still want to talk to you, Boo.”

“Heh! Da in-ah’s already pounding on the door. I only made an excuse of needing to go to the bathroom.”

“Ah! Miss me that much huh?”

“I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Why don’t you just admit it, Boo.”

“Goodnight, Yunnie.”

“Fine.” Jae chuckled even more. “Good night, Boo.”

“Dream of me, alright?”

“You bet!” I answered.

“I love you.”

“I love you, too, Boo. Goodnight”
