[General POV]

Jessica’s eyes were still shut tight as she waited. But nothing happened.

She managed to pry her eyes open, but only felt herself being shoved aside; a girl was on top of the vampire with her hands wrapped around her neck.

The vampire fought back viciously, clawing at the intruder’s arms. She managed to push the intruder, flipping herself backwards.

The intruder had a baseball cap on with dark shades, the sides embedded with stars and moons. She wore casual clothes, her hair tucked into the hat.

The vampire snarled. “You have some nerve barging into here uninvited.”

The latter only smirked, taking off her cap. Her hair was wrapped in a messy bun. She tossed it aside.

“You have a lot of nerve kidnapping a girl in broad daylight.” She responded.

Jessica was now confused. Her body still refused to move as she only watched the scene in front of her.

“Whatever… I’ll just enjoy biting into your flesh more.” With that she flew at her, but the mysterious person simply dodged the attack.

Again and again, she dodged the oncoming attacks.

The vampire panted. “For a human, you are pretty quick I must admit.”

The intruder shook her head and smirked. “I am no human.”

She took off her glasses, and much to Jessica’s surprise, her eyes were a purplish-blue colour.

“Sooyoung?” The vampire’s eyes went wide.

“It’s nice to see you again… Yuri.” Sooyoung tucked her glasses into her sweater pocket.

Yuri smirked in disbelief, reducing her guard. “Well hasn’t it been a long time. You are still the human’s lapdog I see.”

Jessica now felt herself slowly gaining control of her body again. She tried to stand up, but Yuri noticed, and glanced at her.

She was stuck again.

“Still a savage beast I see.” Sooyoung retorted.

Yuri laughed loudly. “Don’t talk like you aren’t. I know your past Soo… and you’re always welcome back.”

Sooyoung narrowed her eyes and gritted her teeth. “Not interested. I left that life a long time ago.”

Yuri sighed. “Fine. Lucky for you, I’m not really in the mood to fight right now.” She turned to Jessica who was still terrified. “You can take the girl, I lost my appetite…maybe you can have a snack on the way home. Wherever that may be.” 

Jessica narrowed her eyes. ‘Is she serious?!’ she thought to herself.

“You always know where to find us if you change your mind. So, until next time…” Yuri jumped out a nearby window, disappearing in an instant.

[Sooyoung’s POV]

Yuri disappeared and I let out a breath of relief. I wasn’t really in the mood to fight either.

I turned to the terrified girl. I couldn’t help but notice her features. I had to admit that she was pretty beautiful, not to mention that she did give off a rather different scent.

“Are you okay?” I asked cautiously, making sure to keep my distance.

She slowly got up, clutching to the wall behind her. She kept silent.

“Uhm… I can you to your car… this is kind of a bad end of town to be in.”  I offered.

She simply nodded, scaling herself along the wall to the door, never removing her eyes from me.

We were outside and her car was missing. Go figure. Yuri always enjoyed taking a ‘consolation prize’ as she’d call it.

I noticed the girl’s silence. I don’t know why, but I felt this impulse to help her.

“I can give you a ride… I’ll take you straight home. Really.” I tried my best to sound sincere.

She still looked at me suspiciously. “… I don’t bite.” I attempted to joke, but she didn’t look happy. Yoona always laughed at that one, but I guess she wasn’t in the mood.

I laughed awkwardly.

“Okay.” She finally responded after the irritable silence.

It surprised me. Her voice was quiet, but it seemed like she wasn’t scared of me… just shaken up perhaps.

I smiled, opening the door for her. She entered without even looking at me.

I hopped into the driver seat.

I glanced over at her. “Seatbelt.” I said before starting the car. After driving Seohyun around, she got me in the habit. More so, she wouldn’t stop nagging me about how ‘seatbelts save lives’. You do NOT want to get that girl started about that.

I smiled at the memory.

“What are you smiling at?” She asked, buckling her seatbelt on.

“Uh… nothing.” I cleared my throat and started the car.

The ride was silent, with her occasionally giving me directions.

We were going down a long strip of road when she finally spoke up.

“How did you find me?” she asked, still keeping her focus on the window.

“I witnessed the whole car accident from a nearby café and when Yuri got in the car with you, I knew something was wrong.” I responded.

“So her name is Yuri… it seems you know her?” she mumbled.

“Yeah. We used to be… affiliated.” I couldn’t really say what our relationship was, but it was far behind me now.

“Why did you help me?”

I glanced at her. “…I don’t know.” I answered truthfully.

We pulled up to her house.

“…Sooyoung was it?” she asked, not leaving the car.

I nodded.

“Thanks. I hadn’t really expected to have a vampire attack me, and have another save me all in one day.” She sighed before continuing. “I suppose you want some sort of…prize?” she asked.

I shook my head but thought for a moment  “Well… maybe just your name?” I couldn’t help but ask. It was kind of stupid, considering I might never see her again, but something urged me to ask.

She paused for a moment. “Jessica.” She bluntly replied.

She resumed opening the door, and got out and began walking to her front door.

I rolled down my window. “Jessica!”

She turned back to me.

“Take care.”

She nodded before entering the house. I started up the car, slipping on my glasses.

I reluctantly began to drive off, occasionally looking into my rear-view mirror.
