Reconciled concert (repost)

Jaejoong’s POV

One month flew by quickly. It was already time for us to return back to Korea.

“I’ll miss this place! It’s so different from Korea.” Jaebin said as we entered the boarding gate. Getting to our seat, we were lucky to get a window seat.

As the plane took off, Jaebin kept looking out of the window, taking a last glance of this place. I could tell she really loved it in Singapore. AS the plane got higher and higher, Singapore was no longer in view. She seat back into her seat.

I held onto her hand as she turned and look at me. Even though no words were exchanged, I understood her. Lifting the handle between us, I pulled her closer to my embrace and settled her head onto m shoulder.

“Get some sleep.” I said as she nodded before fluttering close her eyes. She gets tired really easily and I think it might have something to do with her illness. When we are back in Korea, I’m going to bring her to the doctor the next day.

I started getting drowsy and fell asleep as well. When I woke up, it was by the voices of neighboring people who were giving their orders of food. When she came to us, I declined for both of us since I didn’t want to disturb Jaebin and I myself wasn’t hungry since we has something to eat at the airport.

“Do you need a blanket sir?” The stewardess asked and I nodded. She gave me 2, but 1 was enough. I covered Jaebin and myself. Her hands were around my waist, so I wasn’t able to do anything but go back to sleep.

“Dear Passenger, We’re reaching Seoul in 15 minutes. Please buckle your seatbelt and hope you had a pleasant journey with us.” Jaebin didn’t take off her seatbelt so I didn’t have to worry about it. I returned the stewardess the blankets before waking her up.

When we reached the airport, there was Taeyeon, Junsu, Mi-young ,her boyfriend and Jaebin’s Parents. I gave Jaebin’s parents both a hug as well as Taeyeon.

“I feel so happy for you.” Jaebin said to Mi-young as she looked at her boyfriend.

“Oh I forgot to introduce you. This is my friend, Minhyuk. Currently Mi-Young’s boyfriend.” I shook his hand as he shook mine. They both look really compatible.

“You 2 must be tired. We can talk on the way back.” We boarded the car which fitted all of us and continued tell them about our trip. When Jaebin got engrossed in tell everyone our trip, I took this chance to talk to Mrs. Park who is now my Omoni.

“Omoni.” I called out to her as she turned around since she was sitting in front.

“Yes Jaejoong?”

“We’ll have to bring Jaebin for a check up tomorrow.” I said and she seemed a little shocked.

“Did her condition worsen during the trip?” The both of us kept our voices low so it won’t divert Jaebin’s attention.

“I hope it didn’t but it’s safer to go to the doctors to check.” She agreed and we went back to doing our things, pretending we have never had this Conversation.

When we reached home, everyone came into our house. Since we’ve redecorated it, everyone seem amazed by the new decorations. Jaebin was very enthusiastic to tell her story, but I urged her to get a rest and Omoni brought her up to our room so she can rest.

After an hour or so, everyone left, knowing that the both of us are feeling tired after 7 hours on the plane. When everyone left, I realized it was already 8pm. When I got to our room, I saw Jaebin in her pyjamas and was asleep.

I headed to the shower as well. I was tired and all I could think of was to go and have a good rest. When I stepped out of the bathroom, I saw Jaebin sitting up.

“You’re awake.” I walked towards her, ruffling my hair dry.

“Come here.” She smiled as I sat on the edge of the bed as she helped my dry my hair.

“Are you hungry?” She shook her head as I went to hang my towel.

“I just want to continue sleep.” She stretched her body as I got onto the bed as well. I pulled her into my embrace and slowly, letting the silence hum us to sleep.

The next morning after breakfast, we went straight to the hospital. Jaebin didn’t ask why. She knows it’s all for her own good.

After the checkup, Both Jaebin and I were slightly sad as the doctor said that her condition is starting to deteriorate. Although the progress is slow, but we must be mentally prepared that the speed might increase.

“I’ll fight to the end.” She said and held on my hand tightly.

The trip home was silent. Omoni didn’t speak after the trip to the hospital. When we got home,. She bid us farewell before heading home.

“What should we do now?” She asked me. The doctor had advice us to do more mind challenging things so it would keep her mind working and it’s less likely to have her condition worsen quickly.

“Let’s go create memories.” I smiled as I dragged her towards our car.

“But Jae, I’ll lose them in the future. I don’t want to be upset when ou realized I can’t remember all those things you did before.” I could tell she really didn’t want to make me sadder than I would be when she will no longer with me.

“I know what to do.” Before getting my Polaroid camera.

She didn’t seem to understand so I demonstrated for her. Taking a picture of our house, the picture came out instantly. I settle the camera down before fanning the picture. In no time, the picture came out beautifully. I took out a black marker and wrote captions at the bottom. ‘Our Beautiful house’

“Look. With this, you’ll never forget. And even if you do, I know deep down inside you, you’ll remember all this that we did together. I won’t be upset that you don’t remember because I know that I remember and we indeed spent many beautiful moments together.”

“oh Jae” She hugged me with affection. “I really love you”

“I love you too.” Kissing her forehead, We got into the car and drove off. Going to the many places which we always enjoyed going and we took many pictures. From the park to the lake to the ice cream parlour.

When we got back home, it was 4pm and we’ve finished 3 stacks of Polaroid film.

“You hungry?” She asked as she walked towards the kitchen.

“I am but I shall cook.” I wrapped my arms around her and sun her around before ushering her out of the kitchen.

“I’m the wife! I should cook!” She pouted cutely at the kitchen entrance.

“In this house, the husband does the cooking.” I smiled and she surrendered before heading to the living room to watch television.

I did want to tire her out. She gets tired really easily and to be honest, I have never seen her cook before. Grabbing things from the fridge, I realized most of them had spoilt. Of course it would. We were away for a whole month.

“I Think we’d better eat out.” I stepped out of the kitchen and she looked at me weirdly.

“Why?”

“Most of the food have either spoilt or expired. We have to throw them all away.” Grabbing the keys and my wallet, I held onto her hand and we headed off for dinner nearby.

“It’s so cold.” She said as I saw her without her scarf.

“Hold on.” I ran back home as fast as I could and grabbed her scarf and my jacket.I was about to leave when I forgot the most important thing, the Polaroid camera. When I got back, I saw her jumping up and down rubbing her hands together.

“We’re too used to singapore’s humid weather so now we think this is very cold.” I wrapped the scarf round her neck as she nodded her head.

Putting my hands around her waist and brought her body closer to mine, we continued walking to a small shop on the side of the road. They serve the best deokbokki and kimchi ramyun.

Taking a seat, I could tell Jaebin was freezing. Taking off my jacket, I wrapped it around her.

“You’ll feel cold like this.” She tried to push it back to me, but I clung it back so she gave up and wrapped it closer to her.

When our food came, we dug in. How I miss our own cuisine.

“I’m so satisfied!” I said as Jaebin just laughed.

After paying we went to walk around. I could feel Jaebin shuddering from the cold. We headed to the super market since we threw away all the food we have in our fridge.

“Omo they’re so cute.” I heard by passers says and I could see Jaebin blushing. She pushed me away from her and we walked side by side. I looked at her to find her cheeks in a deep shade of red. I held onto her hand instead and it stayed that way till we’ve reached the supermarket.

“This looks nice.” She took a box of chocolate and showed it to me. I nodded my head before she smiled and putting it in the trolley.

“Let’s make Kimchi tomorrow!” She exclaimed as we got to the vegetable section. I took out the camera as she posed with the cabbage.

When we left the supermarket, our trolley was full of thing. From vegetables to everyday necessities to junk food.

“Let me take it.” I said.

“NO! You are carrying so many already! I’m only carrying one bag and it’s the lightest on already!” Giving up, I let her carry it. She wrapped her arm around mine as we walked home.

She opened the door as I placed the things in the kitchen.

“It must be really heavy.” She said as I settled down on the sofa. She walked behind me and helped me massage my shoulders.

“It’s ok. I’m fine. You’re tired too. Go and shower.” I placed my hand on hers.

“Why don’t you stay here and rest while I go prepare the hot water so you can take a bathe first? You’re more tired than I am.” I was about to object when she dashed straight upstairs not allowing me to make another comment.

“I’m done. It’s Your turn. I prepared the water for you already.” I said as I ruffled my hair.

Taking the pictures which was on the first floor, not forgetting the ones we took during dinner, I scattered it on our bed and took a close look at every one of it. It is all precious memories that we’ve created today.

“Oh Jae.” She said as she walked out of the bathroom, looking at the pictures scattered on the bed. We then took the markers and started writing captions for each of the pictures.

“Hold on” I said as we finished writing captions for each and every one of them. I walked to the next room and searched for the photo album which I bought. When I found it, I went back to our room to find Jaebin fast asleep.

With a smile on my face, I kept the pictures and the album in the drawer of our bedside table. Carrying her bridal style off the floor, I placed her on the bed under the covers.

“Goodnight my love.” I said and gave her a peck on the forehead. I headed downstairs to see that Jaebin had kept everything into it’s place. I switched off the lights for the first floor and locked the doors before heading into bed. Switching off the bedside lamps, I pulled Jaebin closer to me as she snuggled in my embrace and fell asleep. How I wish we could live like this forever…
