New beginnings

Reconciled concert (repost)
“Meet me at the park near your place.” Was the only thing Jae said before hanging up. He was cold. Unlike the Jae I’ve known. Sitting in the bus as the buildings go past, I realized it’s wrong to have all those thoughts in the past. We’re living life to make full use of it, not to back out when we meet an obstacle.

I looked at the ever so familiar neighbourhood, knowing it was my stop, I alighted. Inhaling the fresh air, I made my way to the park. I saw his familiar figure sitting on the bench which we always sat on. Remembering the day before, he left without bringing the ring with him. I looked at it every now and then. I loved the ring so much, however I asked myself do I love this man so much to then extend I could marry him?

I took a seat next to him, looking at the lake. The both of us sat there in silence. None of us wanted to break it because no one knows what will happen next. Holding onto Jaejoong’s hand, I spoke up. “I’m sorry…” With that, I placed the box on his palm. Looking at his facial expression, the hint of disappointment turned into a bright smile. He looked u at me and in return, I smiled back. He stood up and pulled me along before hugging me and turning me in rounds. “Thank you Jaebin! Thank you!” He was crying. However, this time it is tears of joy.

When he finally placed me down, his cheerful expression then turned to a confused one. “If you had accepted, then why did you apologise?” He scratched his head like a little boy. “Because you’ve always said your biggest wish is to help the love of your life wear the wedding band you bought for her, however I wore it myself.” I smiled before Jaejoong gave me his best smile. Holding my right hand he slipped off the ring, making me gasp in shock. Kneeling on the ground, he spoke p. “Jaebin-ah, would you marry me?” I nodded my head knowing this was one of his dreams. Smiling, he slipped on the ring before giving me a hug. We then hear applause. Looking around, we saw a number of people crowding around us. We were so into each other that we didn’t realize there’re people around us.

“Kamsahamnida! Kamsahamnida!” The both of us bowed and the ‘audience’ dispersed slowly, all wishing us a happy marriage. Holding hands, we headed back home, heading back to my home. “Welc… OMO!” Omma exclaimed as she saw our intertwined hands. “Jaejoong, I welcome you to our family.” She gave him a warm hug before she shooed us off to meet Jaejoong’s Parents. Jaejoong himself was quite nervous since his father is a very strict man. He didn’t know would they agree to this marriage since I am dying soon. He was afraid this marriage may not go as well as we planned it to be.

When we When we arrived at his porch, I could feel him trembling a bit. “Jae, it’s alright. Just give it a shot. We have time.” I gave him my best smile as he held on my hand tightly before we took a step forward…

End of Jaebin’s POV

Mi-young’s POV

What the hell is wrong with Jaebin, leaving me with him and we’re so awkward. Furthermore, she asked him to take care of me. This way I can’t escape one way or another. “Erm… want to take a walk?” He cleared his throat before speaking up. I nodded my head slightly before the both of us left the coffee house in an awkward manner. The both of us kept a distance since we weren’t really very close; to be exact we’re complete strangers.

While I was drowned in my own thoughts, I heard someone calling my name loudly asking me to watch out. Before I was able to react, I was in someone’s embrace. Looking up, I saw that it was minhyuk. He was looking at me with his head bent down slightly. “Are you alright?” I nodded my head slightly and I didn’t know why but we stayed in that position before someone called out to him. “Minhyuk!” It was a group of guys with instruments on their hands. When they got closer, they gave us a weird look. “Minhyuk new girl? Why don’t you introduce us?” Minhyuk and I both pushed each other away, shifting awkwardly while adjusting our clothes.

“I’m not his girlfriend.” I spoke softly and the tallest guy who made the comment gave a very apologetic look. “I’m so sorry. I thought the both of you are dating since you’re hugging on the streets. I’m really sorry. By the way, I’m Jung Shin.” He reached out his hand, “I’m Mi-young, Kim Mi-young.” I too introduced myself before I shook his hand. The rest then introduced themselves as well, asking why we were hugging in the middle of the streets and how we even met. “She’s Jaebin’s friend.” Minhyuk spoke up with a slight blush on his face. “You mean Park Jaebin?” Jung shin asked and I nodded. “Wait don’t tell me you’re Kim Mi young, second best in Seoul?” He looked quite surprised before I nodded again. “Goodness! Minhyuk’s totally in love with you I swear! He….” Before he could go on, Minhyuk covered his mouth with his hand before giving me a very awkward smile. I couldn’t help but give a slight chuckle. His expression was priceless.

“He went to your every competition that was held in Korea. He had always wanted to go up to you but he didn’t dare.” This time, Yonghwa spoke up. Minhyuk was too slow since he only got to Yonghwa’s side when he finished. “Don’t tell me you’re blue roses?” Minhyuk looked at me with his eyes wide before he bend his head down, blushing a deep shade of red. “He’s indeed blue roses. He said you looked absolutely stunning in your blue dress so from then on, he will always send you blue roses.” Jong hyun explained. “So it was you all along. Thank you so much for your flowers. I love them. He lifted his head slowly being I gave him one of my best smiles. “You…your welcome.” I could tell he utterly embarrassed since his best friends just spilled out his secret to someone he admires so much. “If you don’t mind, we can become friends Minhyuk sshi.” I smiled as I pulled out a card from my card holder. “This is my number. I don’t mind being friends with you if you don’t mind either. Anyway, I have to go now. I have a class at 5pm. I’ll see you guys around.” With that I left. I heard whisperings among them as I left the café.

End of Mi-young’s POV

Min hyuk’s POV

I’m utterly embarrassed. They just spilled out my deepest darkest secret to the woman I adore the most in my life. Looking at the name card on the table in front of me, I picked it up slowly, only to get laughed at by my friends. “Min hyuk-ah, you should call her and ask her out on a date. Maybe something unexpected would happen between the both of you.” Yonghwa advised me, but I could only look at it because I know I don’t have the guts to call her. When Jung Shin pointed out that she was Kim Mi-young, I was utterly stunned. I’ve been with her for almost an hour and I don’t recongise her, my idol.

“Come on Min-hyuk let’s go for practice.” With that, we headed to our studio. I couldn’t concentrate at all. My whole mind was about her. Is she only my idol or she’s someone I love? I only know my heat can’t stop racing after I pulled her back from the oncoming car since she looked like she was drowned in her thoughts and didn’t realize that the pedestrian crossing was on red. “Min hyuk ah. Min hyuk ah!” Jung shin exclaimed in my face as I got a shock. “It seems like your mind is with Mi-young sshi, so let’s take 5. What you say Yonghwa?” Yonghwa nodded as all of us went to take a 5 minutes break. “Min hyuk ah. Can you lend me your phone? Mine is out of battery.” Jung shin asked before I passed it to him, not knowing what he was up to. After a few minutes, he returned it back to me.

I trying to bring my mind back to practising and it was starting to work before someone entered. “I brought you guys’ food like you requested.” It was Mi-young. I looked at Jung Shin and he gave me a shrug. Taking out my pone, I browsed the call log, showing no recent calls and I went to my sent messages I saw a message sent out. “Annyong! This is Minhyuk! I know it’s rude of me to request this from you, but could you help us buy some food over to XXX Street, studio 1A?” I returned to my inbox to see her reply. “Sure! I’m alright with it. Maybe we can be closer friends this way. Don’t be so shy around me. I won’t bite.”

She bought a lot of food. “I’m so sorry Mi-young sshi. I didn’t intend to ask you to buy food over. I’m sorry to trouble you.” I was trying hard to not stutter. “It’s alright. The royal dance academy was round the corner anyway. It’s quite near. There’s no one to have dinner at home with me so we can all have dinner together.” She smiled as she pulled me back to where the guys are and we started eating. I really think I’m starting to fall for her, because having her beside me now makes my heart flutter and I think I have butterflies in my stomach.

Looking at her feeling so comfortable with all of us after spending less than an hour with us made me feel so loved for some reason. After dinner, we talked a little, shared a bit of our lives and Mi-young told us about her past. “Minhyuk sshi, you have something here.” She pointed to her own cheeks before I took a tissue to clean it off. She shook her head saying it’s still there. A few more tries, I still didn’t manage to get it off. She then took the tissue paper off my hands before cleaning it off my face gently. I was quite shocked since I could feel my heat thumping at full speed. I could see Jung shin smiling at me at the corner. “Minhyuk-sshi, minhyuk-sshi” She called out to me and I only snapped out of it after a few second.

We ‘performed’ in front of her once. I was very very nervous. I concentrated as much as I can, trying not to make any mistakes. When the song was over, she applaud for us, saying it was very good. “We’re heading home now. Want to come with us?” Jong hyun asked her before she shook her head. “My Oppa is coming to fetch me.” She said as we were about to walk away, Jun shin stopped me. “Wait with Mi-Young sshi. She’s a girl after all.” I knew this would happen. “It’s ok. I can wait her myself.” Mi-young said but Jung shin insisted so we were back to being awkward. It was then her phone rang. “Oh, Oppa… Ok… it’s alright… I can manage… ok… bye.” With that she hung up. “Let’s go.” She said as we left our spot. “Isn’t your Oppa coming?” I asked. “He said he has some last minute matters in his office so he has to go back.” Mi-young was about to walk to the subway station before I stopped her. “Want to ride in my car?” I asked since I could send he home. “I don’t think it’s a good idea. I’ll feel bad. “She said and was about to walk away when I pulled her back. “I’ll send you. I won’t feel safe letting you go home on your own at this time of night.” Even though it’s only 9pm. “Alright then. If you insist.” She said as we went to the parking lot to get my car.
