My sacred place [Guest Writer]

Reconciled concert (repost)
After around 15 minutes, Jaejoong spoke up. “You don’t seem to suspect me of kidnapping you to somewhere and sell you off.” He joked with a serious face. “I don’t. I trust you.” His facial expression immediately softened. “If you had opened that door in Vienna that day, we may have been together now?” He asked and I nodded. “Jaejoong, I’m willing to give you a chance.”

Jaejoong’s POV

I smiled at the knowledge that I stood a chance. Jaebin looked up with hopes in her eyes. I pulled her into a hug and breathed in deeply. Her lavender scented shampoo sent tingles down my spine but at the same time, it calmed me down. “Jaebin ah… Thank you,’ I whispered into her ears before breaking our embrace. Jaebin’s brilliant smile warmed my heart as I gently tugged on her soft hand and led her on. The last time that I’ve came to Japan, I promised myself that the next time I fell for someone, I’d bring her back to this place. To many Japanese and others, this place may not be anything special. But to me, it was a place of great inspiration.

‘Jaejoong, where are we going?’ asked Jaebin when she couldn’t stand not knowing anymore. I shook my head and just led her. We were nearly at our destination when I pulled out my handkerchief and tied it around her eyes making sure that it would be a total surprise for her. I’m sure she would understand me and also the beauty of the place we were going. I guided her along. I was sure she was taking in the sounds around her, which was what I wanted. When we reached the edge of the lake, I pulled off her blinds with a flourish. Jaebin blinked a few times to get adjusted to the brightness. I waited for her reaction. It crept slowly, but for sure, her smile was there.

Jaebin’s POV

My world was plunged into darkness when Jaejoong covered my eyes with his handkerchief. I knew I was in safe hands so I didn’t protest. Furthermore, I enjoyed a little surprise from time to time. My steps fell in with his as he led me on. With the ‘loss’ of my sight, my ears sharpened. Other then the sound of crisp leaves crunching underfoot I heard the mockingbirds crooning their songs… I could also hear the sound of water splashing. Finally, we came to a stop and Jaejoong removed his handkerchief.

I blinked against the bright light for a moment. I could tell Jaejoong was waiting for my response. A smile slowly stole across my face. I turned my back against the beautiful fountain and faced him. I could feel a surge of inspiration coursing through me. I think I now know why Jaejoong wanted to bring me here. He wanted me to feel with his personal flow of inspiration. I spun around to face him again to find that he had already taken a seat with his eyes closed, probably composing another beautiful piece of music in his mind. His arms were slightly raised as his wrists moved continuously on his imaginary piano.

The more I looked at him composing, the more my body couldn’t keep still. It moved with its own rhythm as I circled to the mysterious melody that played in my mind. It was like nothing that I’ve heard before, something that was completely new, something that excited my senses. I felt completely at ease while my body moved. I didn’t stop until a new sound aroused me and brought me out of the beautiful trance. People around began clapping! My eyes flew open in alarm. Jaejoong’s eyes too. Their mouths were moving but we had the language barrier. I only understood a few words. Mostly I caught Jaejoong’s name mixed in their flurry of Japanese along with my own.

I slinked over to Jaejoong’s side and tugged at him but he seemed to be too shocked to move. I tugged at him. “Jaejoong, I think we better leave,” I said hoping that he’d awake from his trance. He did awake from his trance at the sound of my voice but he was still pretty dazed. I shook my head and laughed at how blur he could be at times. I tugged at him and we made our way through the crowd that was slowly thickening. I gulped. I hadn’t expected that the two of us would garner the attention of that many people.

Jaejoong must have noticed my body stiffening because he started leading me away. The Japanese that we gathered cheered as we moved. I heaved a sigh of relief when we finally put a great distance between ourselves and the rather frightening crowd. I realised that my hand was still captured in Jaejoong’s big one but it wasn’t uncomfortable. On the contrary of feeling awkward, deep down, I wanted his hands to be holding on to mine. Sadly, Jaejoong seem to have thought that he was compromising my honor even just by holding on to my hand.

My heart fluttered sadly but I didn’t know why I was so affected. Was I really falling for him? I thought as my hand s out to hold on to Jaejoong’s big hand. It was like being shot with a bolt of electricity when our skin met. He looked at me with a significant look in his beautiful eyes. Subconsciously, I reached out and cupped his face. He flinched a little but didn’t entirely pull away.

Jaejoong’s POV

What is she doing? I thought as I struggled to remain lucid and not compromise her honor in anyway – Yoochun was bound to kill me if I were to do anything to her. The very thought of Yoochun cleared any fantasies that I had of Jaebin. I flinched when I realised that my face was in her warm hands. The more I looked into her eyes, the more I couldn’t resist and it sure took a lot of my will power. We weren’t an official couple yet… I should stop her before I lose my will. Jaebin didn’t let me. She kissed me on the forehead… Was she accepting my love now?

I wanted to ask her but I was afraid that if I really did ask her, I might not get the answer that I want to hear… “Jaejoong ah…” she called. Was she going to tell me now? “Thank you so much for bringing me to such a beautiful place. I’ll treat you to a movie,” Jaebin said. As much as I was disappointed, I was relived too. I smiled and nodded my head. I’m sure a movie now would able to clear my mood. Jaebin didn’t let go of my hand as she led the way to the box office. We looked at the monitors which hung overhead, showing the movies they were airing and their respective time slots. “So which movie do you want to watch?” we both asked at the same time.

Jaebin smiled widely and laughed along with me. When we finally got over our laughing fits, many people were looking at us as if we were crazy. I pulled her hand so that we were a little away from the staring crowd. “Let’s each pick a movie and flip a coin since we both can’t decide what movie to watch. Heads or tails?” I asked as I dug through my pockets for a coin. Effortlessly, Jaebin found one. “I call heads,’ she said before proceeding to flip the coin. It was a tails. I thought for a moment. It has been such a long time since I’ve watched a movie trailer let alone a movie itself. I randomly picked a movie. It was called Daybreakers.

“Hmmm… Daybreakers huh. I heard it’s a movie about vampires. You really do love vampires don’t you?” she asked in a joking tone. I turned to her, puzzled. What was she talking about? “Jaebin, what are you talking about?” Jaebin just stuck out her tongue and headed to the snack bar. I chased after her. She got large bucket of caramel flavoured popcorn – I could see from the sheen that the popped corns had. What a coincidence… We walked over to give the lady our tickets. She gave me an extra wink which unsettled me which at the same time made me happy. I was happy because Jaebin looked rather upset – jealous looking to be specific. Did she feel the same way towards me? Should I try again? I gave the ticket lady a warm and unnecessary smile to which Jaebin responded by tugging on my arm.

My heart did a back flip the moment her hand closed on my arm. When we got seated, her hand was still closed around my arm – not that I minded. The lights dimmed and trailers started rolling. I reached over for some popcorn and brushed Jaebin’s fingers. I stole a glance at her – her eyes were still on the screen, not noticing that our fingers were touching. I guess I was kind of grateful that Jaebin chose to treat me to a movie – this way, I could watch her for as long as I liked without her catching me doing it. I was so absorbed in watching her every move that I only returned my attention to the movie when she jumped.

Jaebin’s POV

Those Japanese ladies are seriously getting on my nerves I thought as I watched the one in front of me give Jaejoong an unnecessary wink. I felt my heartstrings tugging when I saw Jaejoong return a smile… Am I falling for Jaejoong? But isn’t this all a little too quick? Aren’t I supposed to be recovering from the heartbreak? It was like my mind was rewinding the time that I’ve spent with Donghae as I sat there in the theatre seat. Mindlessly, I reached for the popcorn and popped them into my mouth. Jaejoong’s warm fingers brushed against mine, triggering memories that I shared with him.

I was only brought back to my senses when I heard the screeching of bats. It was quite loud, successfully bringing me out of my thoughts. My eyes were on the movie but somehow, I wasn’t absorbing the movie fully. I was still thinking about what’s happened to me in the past month… I made a revelation that I should have made long ago. Jaejoong must have noticed that I had my hand clamped over my mouth because he turned to face me with concerned eyes. “Jaebin, are you alright?” Jaejoong whispered.

“If you’re feeling uncomfortable we can don’t watch the movie Jaebin,’ continued Jaejoong before he proceeded to pull me out of the theatre before I could protest. When we were outside, we were greeted a swarm of reporters! How could this be? The media shouldn’t know that the two of us are in Japan! We are so dead now that the reporters are sure to fabricate stories about the two of us dating! I immediately let go of his hand but his grip tightened as he starting running and pulling me along.

All the sounds around me were drowned as we got further and further away from the pesky reporters. In my ears, there were only silence, like somebody’s pressed the mute button for the whole world. Jaejoong was still pulling me along with the reporters running in our wake. We made a turn in an unfamiliar alley and Jaejoong pulled me, making me land smack on his chiseled chest. Our breaths were shallow as we struggled to calm our breathing. Jaejoong turned to check if the coast was clear but turned and mouthed a sorry before he bent in deep to give me a kiss! My mind was telling me that I should stop this but my heart drove me to kiss him back…
